Amore Pacific Color Control Cushion Compact

Take my $60 bucks Amore Pacific Color Control Cushion Compact Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ because I will own you soon!

Cushion BB Creams are the latest hot trend to launch in Asia so it’s nice seeing something similiar offered in the US. Although not a BB Cream the new Amore Pacific Color Control Cushion Compact appears to have a similiar theory in mind with this new formula.

Take a look!

Amore Pacific Color Control Cushion Compact SPF 50

Amore Pacific’s new Color Control Cushion Compact Broad Spectrum is available in four shades and features a multitasking formula which promises to provide full coverage, sun protection, and hydration.

A superior antioxidant enriched formula provides instant hydration while the base fills in micro lines and ensures color builds into fine, even layers with green tea that brightens skin and prevents irritation.

It sounds heavenly!

Pretty sure I need to check this one out.

It’s available now at Sephora.com

Oh great a CCCC cream… You know what I’m done. I am no longer buying anything that’s called a bb cream or cc cream or dd cream. *flips hair* over it.

      • Cj

So I might of spoken too soon… Can you explain to me what a bb cushion is? I mean is it actually a sponge or what? So confused

        • the Muse

it’s actually a runny liquid bb cream soaked into a sponge, you touch the sponge and it products a creamy liquid-like base you can smooth onto your face ;-D

  • blueraccoon

I’d normally be all over something like this–I really love compact foundations–but the lightest this comes is shade 104 which I’m afraid will be too dark for me. Compared to their tinted moisturizer where I’d be a shade 102, I don’t trust that 104 will work 🙁

  • Michelle

Muse, can you do a review on this if you pick this up?
This Color Control Cushion Compact Broad Spectrum sounds interesting to say the least (Whew! … try saying “Color Control Cushion Compact Broad Spectrum” three times fast).

    • the Muse

I actually have a few bb cushions lined up for a review Michelle, debating on grabbing this one but they are the same concept 😀 so you’ll get an idea of what this is like! lol agreed!

  • amy

Almay had a similar product back in ’05 (or thereabout), but it was quickly DC’d. I was simply a foundation, and it was wonderfully light, but it wasn’t the most hygienic product. I don’t like any sort of foundation product that I have to stick my fingers in directly, but the idea of this product sounds heavenly. At $60 a pop, I’d hate to toss a half-full product after a few months.

    • Simone

Whoah! I remember that! It was one of my very first foundations, actually!
Crazy! I remember, even as a kid, I was a bit freaked out about rubbing my fingers on it over and over.

  • The Beauty Alchemist

I just read abt this somewhere recently. Amore Pacific in general is so lovely and this looks very neat. Definitely interested in what’s it like.

I think, too, I remember the Almay Amy mentions. But vaguely 🙂

  • blue

hey muse, will you be picking up the bb cushion’s currently in korea to compare with this cc cushion? amore pacific released bb cushions last year under their hera (uv cushion mist) and iope (air cushion sunblock) brands.

    • the Muse

hi blue unsure if I am getting this one or not but do have the holika holika one, langie one, and the hera one and might review those soonish 🙂

      • blue

ooo can’t wait. thanks for doing these reviews. it really helps, especially when it comes to these international products.

  • yummi4tunekookie

Yes, pleeeeeeease review cushion BB creams! I need moar things to throw my money at!

  • Danii

This is… Very strange looking. Interesting nonetheless! Obviously, I won’t be picking it up haha.

  • Freda

Ever since I fell in love with IOPE Cushion last summer, I am buying another CUSION type for this summer. I just can’t decide between HERA and Amore Pacific one. For now, I am leaning toward to Amore Pacific just because of color selections. IOPE Cushion(#23) was a little light for my summer skin.

Does Amore Pacific come with a refill in the box like IOPE does?

Please do review and share when you get yours. I can’t wait.

    • blue

hey ellie, what type of undertone does the IOPE cushion have? pink, neutral or yellow? how dark would u say the #23 is in terms of mac shades?

      • ellie

        blue,
IOPE air cushion #23 is called ice beige and it’s a good description. It’s not quite as yellow and as beige but I should say it is close to NC25 – NC30, leaning toward to neutral tone. Hope this helps.

  • Julia

I will anxiously wait for your review, Muse!! It seems like a cool concept. The colors shown online seem a little dark though – hopefully the colors don’t come across as so IRL! 🙂

  • beth

Oooh, this sounds cute! Looks very similar to the Laneige BB soothing cushion one, which I love, so I may have to get this one too >.<

I just returned this. I was overjoyed when I tested this on the back of my hand at sephora. It feels so moist and comfortable, the finish is dewy and soft but not oily. I took this straight to the counter. I was so excited to try it the next morning. All day long I constantly smelled the perfume in this product, which gave me heachache. I couldn’t wait to take it off. I could see myself sacrificing smells for something that makes my skin look better and younger…that wasn’t what I hoped for either, all day long I couldn’t wait to go home and wash it off. it made me look dirty as the coverage didn’t last and the color turned dark on my face. I had the lightest shade which was 104 I think and it looked perfect when freshly applied. it almost looked like the moisture evaporated and I’m left with darker pigments in my face. Luckily sephora has a great return policy. I have bb creams or other foundations that cost under $20 and give me way better looking skin!

  • Pramudita

This looks a lot like Laneige Snow BB Cushion!

I’ve always wanted to buy Laneige’s BB cushion but I have tan skin color so I’m pretty sure it will look pasty on me! This has 4 color choices so hopefully one will fit me! I read so many good reviews on sephora.com
But I will wait for your review first before I decide to buy, Muse!

I am trying Amore in 104 along with the Iope Cushion XP C21. I wore them both to work today for a side by side comparison. The Amore Pacific one is a wee bit dark for me. I’m normally a NC 20-25. My friends says it looks the Amore color looks healthy and firm. The Iope one is only slightly more matte and the color was a bit lighter and my skin looked brighter. The weight and feel of both were natural and nice. I kept looking in the mirror to make sure it didn’t fade because it felt like I didn’t have anything on! It lasted all day without oxidizing or fading. I must say both passed with flying colors. I only have one gripe and that is the scent on the Amore. It is strong and very perfumey. But, I am willing to overlook that.

  • Tina

I just ordered this… I am hoping it’s not toooo dark… If it is, I will make sure and wear it only after spray tans.. I think it’s only available ONLINE where I live at Sephora so taking it back wouldn’t be possible and mailing it back to exchange would be a nightmare… :/ Color range is limited… :/

    Hi Muse,

First off, I want to tell you, I enjoyed many of your products review. Some I bought but did not work for me (ex. cc cream fr tony molly — didn’t like it). Again, we are all different so what works for you, might not work for me. :). Curiousity: how many products do you actually own? Where do get all the $ to buy these products?

Anyway, I first learned about the cushion foundation thr Iope product at a local Korean market. Via further search, I found out about Amore Pacific. I went to Nordstrom and bought Tan Gold #204. At first, I got #106 as recommendation per AP consultant. But it was so pinky. If you go to AP website, they tell you what color to pick for yellow vs. pink skin tone. I only use it for 2 days so my review is not entirely acurate. It does have strong/perfumey scent but I acutally don’t mind so much. (The Misha BB has a smell too – at first it bored me but I kindda get use to it). Most if not all AP products have perfumey scent. But I think the scent is beautiful. I do not wear perfume so I thought it’d be too much but I am okay with it. It gives a natural, dewy look. Per recommendation of the AP consultant, I used the serum, then the moisturizer gel BEFORE using this CC cushion. I feel that it’s heavy because my skin feel sticky when I touch it. I did set it with powder but it still feels sticky. I do not like sticky feeling on my skin. I was reading that skip the moisturizer (just use the serum). I will have to try it. It’s medium coverage but you can build up. My skin is good that I only need to even out the tone. However, I was looking for a “quick” application. More coverage than powder but quick application like powder for on the run person like me. I found that while this is easy to apply, it’s NOT quick because you have to “sponge” in the product to even it out. It takes the same amount of time as BB application for me. Like everybody else, I am fearful that it won’t last long. It is very pricey. I end up with this over Iope because it’s made for “american” and it’s only $20 more (feel more guarantee for some reason). I am sampling AP other products too but again they are scented.
Side note: like Misha BB cream over pink skin 79 (a bit sheer). Gave away the Etude Precious Mineral BB cream b/c I bought the color too light and it seems to dry out my nose (even though I have oily T-zone). Keep up the good work Muse.

      hiya jennie!

Thanks so much I’m really glad you enjoy Musings 🙂 I’m sorry to hear about the Tony Moly 🙁 Oh well lots of others to try right? I own a few 🙂 lol where does anyone get money to buy stuff? I have a job.

thanks for your thoughts on the Amore CC Cream! very helpful for readers!

    Hi:

I really want to try the AP cushion or the IOPE air cushion, but im scared their shades wont work for me. I use the Missha perfect cover in No. 27 and it matches me pretty well. Would I use tan for the AP?? If you could recommend something I would really appreciate it.
    Your reviews are really helpful
    Thanks
