Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector Review & Swatches

Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector

I’m currently obsessed with Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector ($36) and so is my sister after I introduced her to using it on her oily lids to prime with.

Becca created the texture of a silicone primer in a silicone-free formula…WHAT?! Yeah, it’s true. This primer has the same feel as a silicone based primer but it doesn’t actually contain them.

And it’s incredible.

YOU must try this.

This silicone-free primer creates the perfect invisible veil to prep skin for makeup. It mattifies, reduces the appearance of pores, and perfects.

The texture reminds me of a lightweight version of L’Oreal’s new Miracle Blur and in some ways it also has characteristics of Urban Decay’s De-Slick in a Tube.

The formula resembles a silicone loaded primer and has a velvety feel with a powdery dry down. However, I associate silicone primers with an itchy, heavy feeling and this has neither. It settles onto skin in a perfect airbrushed finish and makes an EXCELLENT base for all mediums. Used with BB Cream it perfects the complete finish of the product by giving skin a soft focused look. Used with powder foundations on drier skin it creates a second-skin like base for powder to adhere to which results in powder not clinging or adhering to patchy areas.

It’s just an ideal base product that creates a beautiful skin-like protection over your complexion for makeup to adhere too. It extends the wear of base products, prevents them from fading, and keeps them looking fresh for up two to three hours longer than the average wear of your favorite foundation.

I have visible pores on my nose and this erases them completely!

I’m just so impressed with this formula and quite excited about it. My skin is drier with a slightly oily forehead and it curbs shine perfectly for me and still lays naturally against my drier skin. During a workout it kept my skin shine-free and my foundation wearing long and strong.

I can’t recommend this enough. I even recommended it to my sister recently to use on her oily lids and she was over the moon at how mattifed her lids were!

If your skin HATE silicone primer but you find such a primer a necessary evil this beautifully textured primer will a perfect solution for you!

You NEED to try it.

Sounds really interesting! I would like to try, but I never have the time to use primer 🙁

Ahhh I’ve all but given up on primers. They all seem great to me at first and then later I break out, or I find they begin to make my skin oilier after repeated use. BUT this looks amazing, and since I haven’t fallen in love with a primer yet, this could be my chance! Thanks for the review!

ooooooooo…………..a mattifying primer that doesn’t dry you out?? This sounds amazeballs – perfect for summer! Must. Get. It. thanks for the reveiw Muse!! 🙂

Thanks for the review; was considering getting this…now I definitely will!

Sampled this in Sephora the other day, I feel that they got in a defective batch because the primer there is MUCH more solid than shown here. It’s almost like a jelly, and you need to put it over a well moisturized face or it drags and catches. It definitely mattifies on contact, however I have oily skin and I don’t feel that it keeps the nose shine at bay any longer than my other primers do

Is this product really paraben-free? I haven’t seen it in person to check the ingredients on the packaging, but Sephora’s website lists the ingredients as:

Aqua, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Propylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylene Glycol, Enantia Chlorantha Bark Extract, Oleanolic Acid.

I’m hoping the ingredients list is incorrect as I really want to try this primer!! =(

      • Courtney

Yes, I read the review and it mentioned that this primer was paraben-free. I was just confused because the ingredients list for this product on Sephora’s website conflicts with what was written here. :-/

oh sorry I just noticed the ingreds you posted jeepers what a day. I’m tried. unfortunately, I have a press sheet that states paraben free. You might want to contact becca directly to be sure. for now I’ll update my post to reflect your details. I’ll try to contact them well and see if they can confirm. I don’t have the box so I can’t show you it or take a photo.

          • Courtney

Hi! Thank you so much for posting about this primer. It’s wonderful! I even did my own little test for its ability to smooth lines. I looked at my dark-circled, wrinkled undereye, and it really smoothed the lines. I was shocked! Not to mention I love that there’s no scent or oils or dimethicone.
As for ingredients, the ingredients list on the box match Sephora’s description in Courtney’s comment. So, yes, there are parabens. It is manufactured in Italy.

I never knew what you meant by being “itchy” because of silicone, but I’ve recently experienced the same feeling around my nose and -_- god it’s so annoying; and everytime I scratch I seem to take off a layer of my foundation >_> Maybe I am allergic as well.

ugh silicone drives me nuts and bismuth, cannot use stand bismuth, it’s like tiny ants crawling under my skin!
