Dreaming of Sisley Paris L’Orchidee Veil

Sisley Paris L'Orchidee Veil

I dream of the day I have $108 to splurge on Sisley Paris L’Orchidee Veil.

This trio of ultra-luminous, pearly shades is specially designed to sculpt your face by refracting the light for a natural, sunny finish.

Sounds heavenly but I admit I can’t see myself dishing out over $100 bucks on face powder. Ouch why you hurt my wallet Sisley?

P.S. Hope you had a fab weekend. Welcome to March, the longest month of my life. March always seems terribly long as we wait for more of Spring to head our way. Plus I have a great concert coming up this month, end of the month, that will make it feel extra long. Seeing In this Moment! w00t!

I leave you with a Welcome to the Gun Show bitches and a hearty Happy Monday (groan)!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. This looks–from the colors anyway–very similar to the Clarins face palette for spring, which I think is a bit less expensive. Maybe that’d be a good dupe?

    • the Muse

appears so ;-D thank god I have the clarins one. Saves me from the urge of spending $100 on a highlighter I’ll look at but never want to use lol!

  • Lauren

That powder looks gorgeous, but $100? Not so pretty anymore haha.

And you’re gonna love the show, I saw In This Moment in 2010 at Mayhem fest, put on a killer show!

    • the Muse

I am extremely excited, it’s like Christmas 😀 She’s my total girl crush! Can’t wait ;-D And NIN is going back on tour too, my year is complete!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ha agreed, 100 bucks wa?!

      • Lauren

Oooh NIN sounds like a great show! I just saw Drowning Pool last week, got to meet them too! My brother and I met Maria Brink at Mayhem, I’m pretty sure that moment marked his descent into puberty LOL

        • the Muse

my god I’d jump Maria Brink if I ever met her in person. What’s she like? lol I imagine your brother must have passed out (i’d say something else but have to keep it clean LOL). I have such a girl crush on her. Saw NIN their last time in NY, was great show. Incredible really. So many folks hate on TR but I don’t care, love him, love his voice. what’s drowning pool live like? A good friend of mine seen them at Ozzfest several hundred years ago. I don’t really follow them all that much. I saw the Darkness last year in CA, incredible as well, seriously could feel Justin Hawkins sweat on my face. Outside of Freddie Mercury, Justin totally gets my award for glam band show man, what a psycho. ;D I also saw otherwise earlier last year, amazing…I seriously want to lick Adrian Patrick from head to foot *hangs head in shame* ahhh men of metal and hair bands y u make me so horny? ;D let us talk about bands all day so I don’t have to do any other work ;D where are you? Let’s go concert h0ring together 😀

          • Lauren

Haha well Maria is such a sweetheart, both Chris and I got hugs from her. As soon as we walked from the tent he had this smug, happy look on his face which stayed there all day XD. Drowning Pool was phenomenal live, I’ve listened to them since I was 10 so I had a blast, but the whole place was a mosh pit the whole time. I’m HUGE metal fiend, I saw Megadeth two years ago along with Disturbed and Godsmack at my second Mayhem fest 🙂 I’m out of Western Mass but I’d love to go show jumping XD

          • the Muse

omg megadeth……AHHH you’ve no idea how much I adore them. My anthem is sweating bullets DUDE! What’s her voice like AFTER a show is my question. I swear girl is not going to have a voice after she retires ;-D Mosh pit scares me, I’ve had really bad experiences with ’em so could not do an entire concert like that. what was that like? you must have been gross, no offense, after the show lol! Did you surf? 😀 that’s not far 😀 we should totally do a show together. with NIN going back on tour I’m POSITIVE they’ll hit east coast. No mosh pit though lol! gonna e-mail you a picture of my last mosh pit experience, seriously, it is so BAD lol! you have lolly at yahoo here, is that the right email?

          • Simone

Every time you mention your taste in entertainment I love you more and more!
Geeky TV shows, amazing makeup, AND metal??
Sounds a bit creepy, buy I think I’d have so much fun chilling with you! Lol.

            <3

          • the Muse

lol thanks simone 😀 you’re welcome any time hehe ;-D me you and lauren can have a road trip to a good concert 😀

      • carrie

Oh man!!! That takes me back! NIN was one of my first concerts…1994 with Marilyn Manson and the Jim Rose Circus Sideshow opening. Lol. Good times!

          • carrie

Muse it was amazing. It was for Marilyn Manson’s Portrait of an American family albums which was produced and released by Trent Reznor. They were opening for NIN….I had heard of them but hadn’t even heard any of their songs yet. The only concert I ever enjoyed more was the Ramones farewell tour in 95 and they were playing with White Zombie

          • the Muse

that sounds epic carrie. and you got to see the ramones, I am so jealous! I never had the pleasure…! White Zombie yes but never the Ramones. That must have been amazeballz! tell me what that show was like please ;D I’ve seen old clips of their concerts and they always sound just as good in concert as they do on a cd, that was one of the appealing things about Queen as well. Freddie always sounded pitch perfect.

          • carrie

Oh Freddie! Would have loved to have seen Queen. And Zeppelin… but I doubt that’s ever gonna happen. 🙁 I’m still amazed I got to go to that Ram ones show…I was 15 and the show was an hour away on a school night…was offered a ride by 2 guy friends who were 17. Lol. There was much crying and begging my dad. Hehe. It was awesome. Just like you hear their live stuff. A quick 4 count…song…quick 4 count….song. about 10 sec down time between songs. An hour set (plus encore even tho they were technically opening) and that prob covered like 30 songs. Lol! Rob Zombie came out to sing Blitzkrieg Bop with them. Blew my teenage mind! 🙂

          • the Muse

ahh Queen, god…I’ve seen tribute bands but I would kill to see Freddie perform. sigh. Zep circa 75 or so would be wicked simply wicked! christ on toast Rob singing Blitzkrieg Bop live has to be orgasmic lol!

          • carrie

1975 Robert Plant…drool… 🙂 Actually my hair is exactly like his at that time. I can’t pull off leather pants like him though! Lol

          • the Muse

robert was such a beautiful boy..I dunno WTF happened. Aging SUCKS ;-D and his hair was near perfect, it never really frizzed, the curls were always sleek….*hangs head* what happened???

          • carrie

Getting old SUUUCCCCKKKKSSSS! Lol. Well my curls do have the frizz issue but oh well. My bf just got the song remains the same on DVD. Really makes me wish I lived in…say…Colorado or Washington. And that I wasn’t actively looking for a job (to be subject to certain… tests) lol

          • the Muse

LOl anyone say differently they are lying 😀 I’m like peter pan, won’t ever grow up hehe ;-D hey come over to ny you can intern for me ;D! no weird tests ;D

          • carrie

Done! Lol. Actually NY makes as much sense as St. Louis…my folks and grandma are in CT and my aunt and uncle live in Ridgewood NJ.

  • Lauren

Yup, that’s my primary email 🙂 Her voice is a bit hoarse after the show, but I’m guessing that’s the norm for her now haha. My dad is a seasoned concert-goer (Seen Van Halen 10+ times and has TONS of stories from Monsters of Rock 1988) so he’s taught me the in’s and out’s of mosh pits, but the Drowning Pool show was the first time I was ever in one, and it was by accident XD the girl in front of me decided to start it and I got smacked in the mouth as I fell into the guy behind me haha. I’m in no way small enough to crowd surf but I’m done my fair share of helping people up there XD I’d love to see NIN in concert. My dad and I are hopefully gonna go see Queenryche for their Operation: Mindcrime 25th Anniversary tour but they haven’t released any East Coast dates yet 🙁

    • the Muse

she must leave with a chronic sore throat! van halen does a damn good show but I gotta admit I loved when DLR was with them, it just took them to glam god status haha…I wanna meet your dad 😀 My father taught me about the joys of the Man in Black but aside from Johnny Cash we share NOTHING in common music wise haha. OMG…were you ok? things can GET rough :-/ and dangerous. hey that’s ok, who wants to be groped like that anyway lol! I’d be terrified to even try given a chance. That would be an incredible experience. Geoff Tate is delicious. NIN will prob spill into 2014…so I’m hoping for early east coast 2013 dates.

  • Lauren

I’m betting! My dad hasn’t seen them since their Balance tour back when I was a year old, but he’s been loving Chickenfoot, Sammy Hagar’s new project. He and my mom went to see them last May. He’s really cool, he brought me to see Motley Crue for my first concert 🙂 And my lip was swollen a bit but nothing too bad, my ears were ringing longer than my lip was hurting XD I literally just looked up tour dates for Queensryche and they do have east coast dates but their closest show is in Southern CT and it’s 21+ D: Here’s hoping NIN doesn’t have any of those!

    • the Muse

i’m in love with sammy period. 😀 Your dad sounds brilliant ;-D that’s one of the worst side effects of concerts, ringing ears for days after 🙁 I’d rather deal with the swollen lip hehe!

  • Simone

I don’t think I could fish out $100 for any makeup item. Skincare MAYBE, but makeup just shouldn’t be that expensive!

  • Sarah. D

OMG Love Love LOVE In This Moment. I have to say that was a (very nice) surprise to see that video here……just didn’t expect it. 1 more thing besides a love of makeup that we have in common…..a love of metal. 😀

    • the Muse

yay! another fan! 😀 read the comments sarah we were having a grand old discussion about Maria!

      • Sarah D

Oh yeah I read all the comments and completely agree, Maria is a fox! Don’t tell my hubby I said so, lol! ;-). She has an awesome voice…..

        • the Muse

our secret ;-D hehe! She really does, her voice is amazing….of course, not everyone can appreciate it lol but if you do enjoy the genre you can def say she honestly has amazing vocals!

  • Miss D

Ouch! Why you hurt my eyes Muse…cuz this powder is freaking gorgeous! 😛
Oh and one more thing…I don’t have money for this either! 🙁

    • the Muse
