Etude House Sweet Recipe Almond Chip Cookie Pact Review & Swatches

Etude House Sweet Recipe Cookie Pact

Etude House Sweet Recipe Almond Chip Cookie Pack is one of two new baked face powders launched with the Etude House Sweet Recipe Collection.

This baked powder can be used as a setting powder and contains illuminating pearls according to Etude House to give a glow-y finish.

Take a look!

Etude House Sweet Recipe Almond Chip Cookie Pact Spring 2013

Almond Chip Cookie is the lighter shade selection of the two pacts but most skin types in the fair to medium range should be able to use this without an issue as it does have a sheer, translucent finish.

You might recognize the idea as Skin Food does a similiar style powder and blush in a “Cookie” design as well. However, Etude House’s packaging is cuter. This is a round cardboard compact with a rubber sponge for application. The sponge is easy to use with water should you like to apply the powder wet. I prefer using it with a brush of some sort and buffing it onto my face.

This shade is a lighter beige with light beige dots where as the Choco Chip Pact is darker. It does leave a pasty finish even though sheer so be sure to buff it in well to avoid too ghastly a look.

The cardboard compact is very cute but I imagine it’ll get smashed easily if you choose to carry it around with you. So do be careful as I do deem it rather delicate.

I read a few reviews that said this smelled like cookies but I honestly don’t get that at all. It kinda has a faint strawberry plastic doll scent. It supposedly contains peach and macadamia oil as well as anise and strawberry oil so perhaps there is where the faint strawberry scent is coming from.

I don’t really get a sparkle from the powder even though they advertise it as a radiant complexion finishing powder. For the most part it is a very basic setting powder. Almond Chip will be suitable for paler skin where as medium will have to buff it well to get it to set without looking pasty. It s mattifying but not something that will keep shine at bay all day. For drier skin it does cling to flaky or patchy areas so prep well prior to application.

I’m going to be honest and say I don’t know if you necessarily need to buy it. It’s adorable but there are a slew of other Asian Setting Powders that do a far better job. But there is that part about being adorable….

Etude House is exclusive to Asia but many Ebay sellers are around with reasonable prices. Zinopark is one I’ve recommended a few times as he ships fast and has reasonable pricing and shipping costs (I am not affiliated with this seller).

I purchased this item.

Totally kawai 😉 Seriously, it is very cute but it’s more something to have and look at rather than to actually use.

Thank you so much for reviewing this! I actually considered buying it, but I don’t need a finishing powder myself so I bypassed it. After reading this, I’m kind of glad I did forget about it 😛 I think I would have been disappointed with this after reading about Etude House’s promo description for it. As compared to The Face Shop’s ‘Face It Shimmering Loose Powder’ (which smells like Peach, by the way, and it’s rather lovely – have you tried this product before?), it seems pretty basic, since The Face Shop’s shimmering powder is chock-a-block full of sparkles haha! 🙂 anyway, thank you once more! If you can (and if you haven’t already), please review The Face Shop’s shimmering powder – I’ve only used it on mum and haven’t really looked carefully enough for the effects, and I don’t want to risk it on my own skin just yet! Thank you 😀 <3

Thank you for your reply, but I’m sorry I think I was unclear. You said: “It’s adorable but there are a slew of other Asian Setting Powders that do a far better job.”
