Flower Color Play Creme Eyeshadow Review & Swatches
Flower Color Play Creme Eyeshadow are part of Drew Barrymore’s new Flower Makeup Collection available exclusively at Walmart. These cream shadows are a mere $7.98 and available in twelve shade selections.
Flower continues to please me with their offerings as not only are they budget friendly but quite high quality makeup. Being a fond fan of cream eyeshadow I was quite excited to give these a whirl.
Take a look!
Flower Color Play Creme Eyeshadow comes housed in a glass jar with a twist up tube. Flower’s packaging is quite simply chic without a ton of bells and whistles but still manages to look very feminine and pretty. Inside things do get messy…they have a small stopper on top of the shadow to keep it fresh I suppose but the shadow is so squishy and gooey that it was running over the sides of that stopper. Moral of the story, these don’t look exactly pretty when the cap is unscrewed.
But I promise they are brilliant.
The texture is a thick, creamy whipped up style mousse that glides onto lids easily and builds up equally easily. These are probably some of the friendliest cream eyeshadows I’ve ever worked with. A dab on finger tips blended out onto your eyes is all it takes to create a rather stunning eye look. I find they are fool proof and very easy to work with. The texture builds easily as well. Sometimes cream sahdows can go horribly wrong and blend out patchy or sheer out so my lid is showing but I had no such issues with these.
The shade I purchased was Awesome Blossom which is mauve brown. The shade has some shimmer but it’s very refined and wearable. These don’t dry down to a powder finish and they do remain a little dewy throughout the wear. I find they crease without primer and fade completely within a five hour period. So primer is key especially if you have oily lids. I think the hydrating texture of the product works for it as you can blend it and build, blend it and build, and never have to worry about it setting too quickly.
The pigmentation is excellent and produces very vivid color when built or a sheerer more refined color wash when applied lightly. Either way they look gorgeous. In my photo below I wore it lightly so I only applied a tiny amount and it still looks rather beautiful!
Overall, Flower Color Play Creme Eyeshadow is worth checking out. I really liked this formula and found it very easy to work with. Even if you dislike cream shadows I’d highly suggest trying them out as they are one of the easiest cream formulas I’ve had the pleasure of working with.
I will haul more!
