Lancome Baume in Love Sheer Tinted Lipbalm Review & Swatches

Lancome Baume in Love Sheer Tinted Lipbalm

Lancome recently introduced their Baume in Love Sheer Tinted Lipbalm for Spring 2013 in four different shades which will be available for a limited time.

This darling balms are testimony to Lancome’s reach out to a younger crowd of makeup users however, at $26 each they do make my wallet cringe slightly.

Take a look!

Lancome Baume in Love

I admit I didn’t mind paying $26 each for these as I adore the formula however, I’d suggest purchasing a single shade NOT all of them. The shades all look very similar on lips considering the formula is incredibly sheer so do keep that in mind when purchasing.

I think Baume in Love is definitely a statement by Lancome that they are leaning towards gathering the attention of a younger crowd of makeup users. Don’t get me wrong, Lancome has a strong makeup base with some very good products but as of late they have been releasing fresher and more fun products and Baume in Love just feels like one of those products.

Old or young one wonders what Lancome is thinking with this price tag. I mean NARS new Satin Lip Pencils offer full color coverage and each one is $25 each versus these simple, sheer lip balms at $26? I’m not seeing the mentality behind that price tag at all. I actually said the same thing about their Blush in Love.

On the upside perhaps you’ll feel better that they paid very special care and attention with the packaging here. These come in a weighty silver tube. Inside each tube is a pretty little heart emblem, you have to stare directly into the tube of the balm to see it, very cute little feature!

These have a faint fruity citrus taste and a lightweight balmy texture which provides a sheer flush of color on lips. They give my lips a pink flush with a high sheen finish that keeps the skin of my lips hydrated and soft throughout the wear. Truly the formula is quite luxurious and quite the upscale balm if ever I did see one. They are virtually weightless on my lips and very soothing and comfortable to wear. That near $30 price tag isn’t looking all that bad after all…maybe!

Not only do they add a touch of color but they also kinda work what you momma already gave you by enhancing your lip’s own natural pigment with a more natural flush of color.

Overall, I must admit Baume in Love is a VERY well made lip balm. I think they are slightly disappointing considering all the shades look very similiar and the price tag does indeed hurt my wallet. But on the upside the gorgeous packaging and the formula proves these are a gorgeous treat for lips!

Against my better judgement, due to the price of a simple balm, I am Muse Approving these. They are possibly one of the most luxuriously formulated balms I own!

Do love!

If anything I’d go with the Midnight Rose shade (worn above) if you want the best pigment!

Anyone try these?

I’ve always considered tinted balms to be a waste of money….this price is horrifying.

I have Midnight Rose and love it! The sheer color of that one is lovely and it’s so moisturizing. Definitely the one to get out of all of the colors 🙂

I bought the Coral one. It’s lovely but def overpriced. I love the packaging. I need to try the Rouge in Love lipsticks.

I have two of these and I really love them. I do wish the colors were a little more different–I got the second hoping it’d be different and was a bit disappointed–but I love the feel of them and they do make my lips look glossy. So I’m glad I bought them. I keep one on my desk for when my lips feel dry and one in my purse.

I love these! I have one in Rose in Love. The velvety, buttery texture is to die for. I wish I could shell out $26 for Urban Ballet as well but then I would be broke! lol

  • Angel

LMAO! $26 freaking dollars??? Pretty, very pretty, but I can duplicate this look with Burt’s Bees lip balms for like $3. Sometimes these companies just make me SMH.

Admittedly, not all of NARS’ new pencils perform spectacular but I do have my eye on one of the reds. Such a luxurious buy but not one I would mind. I wear red lips pretty often.

I really like the coral one, but am having trouble getting my wallet to cough up the $$ for one…. still… there’s a nice GWP going on now… Hmmmm…… 😛

  • caroline

Lovely …Midnight Rose is a gorgeous color and also such a romantic name 🙂

  • liyeun

I hav the one in pink and I was surprised to find that this is not moisturizing enough though…. *cries*

  • Cj

Wow that’s so nice of lancome to make a lippie just for me 😉 I should send them a gift basket or something. I ordered urban ballet and coral electric last night 😀

  • Liz Cat

Oh no….I have a tinted lip balm addiction and this is not helping!!! (I must admit, as soon as i saw the pictures i was in love, saw the price tag and secretly wished they would suck…)

-Sighs and looks at arsenal of barley used fresh sugar balms to go through as my wallet cries- But now that i’ve broken the barrier and spent over $20 dollars for lip balm…..I probably wont be able to resist one of these lovlies!!

lol don’t feel bad me too! I actually purchased them on a whim on counter at Lord and Taylor and didn’t look at the price so I was surprised when they rung up! Glad to own them but the price for a balm OUCHIE!

      • Cj

Omg I am so glad I’m not the only one that forgets to look at price tags sometimes. I once almost bought an $700 sedu hair dryer on accident lol

  • Anna

These seem too similar to the Bare Minerals tinted balms that can out recently, and those are $11 cheaper.

  • Louise

How come i can’t find that heart any were? I’ve looked an looked – and now i really really want to find it 🙁

  • Ashley

I tired these on at the counter, after reading your reviews it was tempting to buy, but I still like the FRESH with spf 15 way better. This weren’t that impressive to me.
