Milani Grandissimo Lashes Mascara Review

Milani Grandissimo Lashes Mascara 1

Mega volume and a false lash effect awaits you with the new Milani Grandissimo Lashes Mascara ($5.49). This new Spring mascara launch promises to dramatically enhance and thicken even the littlest of lashes.

I’ve been on a roll with good mascara picks lately! And even found an HG or two the past month or so! So I was kinda hoping Milani Grandissimo would keep my mascara good luck record rolling…!

Milani Grandissimo Lashes Mascara

Like MAC I honestly haven’t tried and loved a Milani mascara. Sad little sigh. I love Milani but their mascaras don’t seem to ring my bell.

Milani Grandissimo Lashes Mascara sounds like a promising voluminzing mascara with it’s large bushy brush and promises of a false lash like finish. Although a club-like size the applicator is a bushy brush sans the plastic that brands have been embracing a plenty lately. The brush alone looks like something that would create some crazy very juicy, plump lashes.

Unfortunately Grandissimo is more like minimamosa. This has a lightweight texture that produces fluttery lashes sans any volume or great length to write home to mom about. If you desire straight lashes with a fluttery, more natural finish this is your mascara. However, if you’re expecting volume….well, no way is that happening. I mean this might sound odd but it actually made my lashes look smaller than they actually are…how the hell is that even possible?

The formula is quite lovely as it’s lightweight and doesn’t leave my lashes crunchy or stiff but it does give a stick straight finish sans any curl. Fluttery lashes can look very nice however, for me I want a bit more drama especially with a mascara named Grandissimo.

The mascara removes easily but doesn’t smudge on me or flake.

Overall, Milani Grandissimo didn’t work out for me unfortunately. It’s a more minimal look sans the grand volumizing lashes I expected and what the mascara is marketed as. Sorry Milani I just didn’t find anything to love here.

SMH. I was really hoping that this mascara actually did what it claimed to do. I noticed that in your review about the Milani Runway Mascara, it failed the test as well when it comes to adding volume to lashes.

Does Milani really understand this concept? Really makes me wonder.

Anyway, thanks for the great review.

judy did you try runway mascara by chance? def didn’t like it either le sigh 🙁 Milani is like MAC for me, GREAT color cosmetics but they never do mascara right for some reason!

Oh, that is so sad 🙁 Malani is a great drugstore find in many things. Well I guess you can’t get them all. And that is true with many companys. ITA wtih you on Tarte, but I have been in love with Power Volume by L’Oreal that you shared back in Jan. 😀

I had this same problem with this stuff. It made my lashes look smaller too. I thought it was because it clumped my lashes together but didn’t add the volume you would normally get from mascara. It did seem to be waterproof though, from what I could tell. Maybe just because it’s so thin anyway, there’s very little to run.
