I was quite excited by the new Nuance by Salma Hayek Renewed Radiance Brightening BB Cream ($16.79) that my local CVS had. But ouch on the drugstore pricing! Near $20 for a drugstore BB Cream definitely hurts my feelings but it could be brilliant and if I didn’t buy it I might be missing out on something incredible.

See my logic?

Available in Light/Medium and Medium/Deep selections this sports an SPF 30 and supposedly contains Dermaxyl which is a peptide complex that works to help smooth the appearance of wrinkles.

Take a look!

This has a delicate fresh floral scent with a rich, thick creamy texture. It comes in a squeeze tube with an attached top that easily dispenses product without over doing things.

My first impression of the product was absolute delight as I really enjoyed the creamy texture however, it lacks the density that an Asian BB Cream does but none the less the texture is delightful. It feels amazing going on as well particularly if you have dry skin as it hydrates and leaves behind a dewy to the touch finish. It absorbs easily into skin and if you like you can easily skip moisturizer as it’ll give you plenty of hydration once applied. Heck, I even RECOMMEND you skip moisturizer and I’ll tell you why in a moment.

Unfortunately, the color selection is not for paler or fairer skin types. These shades are best suited to medium or darker skin tones as even the light shade is a deeper beige that would be best suited for warmer undertones.

Overall, the texture is beautiful and has an almost whipped up consistency that’s super creamy and dreamy. It applies easily, absorbs in a snap, and will be truly a great pick for drier or aging skin.

Unfortunately, it offers very little coverage. It’s more of a tinted moisturizer than anything else and even, on some levels, fails at that. It quite gave me the vibe I got from Olay’s new BB Cream as it has this beautiful texture but offers zero coverage so what’s the point!?

To add insult to injury it is absolutely not for oily skin. Even on my drier skin it was a bit too much moisture because as the day progressed it seemed my skin got shinier and shiner with this in place. It doesn’t wear very long due to that moisturizing formula and oxidizes within an hour so I have a little orange-y glow going on. It fades completely after two hours of wear leaving behind a good deal of oil and shine.

Sadly, this one wasn’t a good pick for me. I find the price very high for so little coverage. It might be a dream come true for aging, drier skin as the formula does contain some good ingredients however, the sheer finish, short wear, and oil it seems to produce on my skin isn’t for me.

Didn’t work out at all for me!

Too bad about the shades 🙁 nuance has some really good products, I’m addicted to the green tea eye roller, and the oxygen cleanser is a total dupe for the bliss one! 10$ vs 50$ lol

I tried it a few weeks ago, but I couldn’t get past the smell. I am not a big fan of fragrance on my face…

understandable! I was ok with the fragrance, was nice and fresh smelling but yeah, I could def get it isn’t for everyone 🙁

I was curious about the coverage, as I have the “regular” TM, and the coverage is the worst I’ve ever seen (or, in the case of *this* product, haven’t seen, LOL). I don’t need much coverage, but if I’m paying for coverage, I think it should be there; otherwise, I could just stick to my regular moisturizer, which I have to use anyway.

Out of all the BB Creams that you’ve tried that are not high end, which is your favorite? My skin is paler than yours, almost ivory and I have dry/combo skin. Any suggestions for BB Cream OR Tinted Moisturizer? Thanks!
