Physicians Formula Sexy Booster Sexy Glow Bronzer Review & Swatches
Physicians Formula Sexy Booster Glow Blush didn’t do it for me but I ADORE the Physicians Formula Sexy Booster Sexy Glow Bronzer. That has to be saying something considering I don’t get on with bronzer right?
Dontcha just love the sexy corset imprint on the powder?
This is a pretty combination of bronze and gold which makes it universally flattering for both eyes and face in my opinion. Nothing is stopping you from using the shades as a pretty color wash on your eyes as well as your cheeks.
This comes in a sturdy dual sided cardboard box covered in red fabric and black fishnet, a hanging silver stiletto charm hanging from a black ribbon completes the “sexy” look. The powder is located on the top of the compact and a compartment on the opposite side holds a brush and mirror. Part of the appeal of the powder is the design that the powder has on it. This is a golden corset imprint surrounded by a brassy bronze shade. I’ve used the bronzer a few times and the imprint still remains but I imagine as you use it daily it’ll begin to disappear.
The powder is infused with a warm vanilla scent which Physicians Formula claims contains pheromone-mimicking ingredients including clinically tested Androstadienone, Cocoa Extract (aka “the Love Chemical”) and ancient aphrodisiac Horny Goatweed. I personally don’t like the scent and if you’re sensitive to fragrance in products it might not sit well with you either although it does disappear after application.
If you wanna cheap things up this is a nice way to get the effect of Hourglass’s Ambient Lighting Powder at half the cost. This provides a sheer wash of golden bronze on cheeks and face and makes an excellent overcoat on top of a warmer cheek stain or powder blush. The color can be built to fuller intensity producing a warmer sunny glow but as a sheer wash of color, when the light hits your face, it creates a very prett glow.
The powder has a soft texture with a velvety feel that applies and blends out easily. It runs from sheerer to full color payoff depending how much you apply. The brush it comes with is a tad useless so I do suggest a kabuki for heavier application and a fan brush or bushier blusher brush for sheerer application.
Overall, this is my favorite piece of the Sexy Booster Collection as I didn’t love the blushes nor the glosses. The color is a very flattering and easy to wear shade of brassy gold. I prefer it as a sheer wash on my cheeks over a coral cheek stain.
It’s available now at drugstores.
