Pixi Extra Eye Bright Liner

Hello Spring! You’re finally here and I have my trusty Pixi Extra Eye Bright Liner to welcome you in. My tired eyes need a little pick me up after a long hard Winter (and too much Bioshock Infinite, holy shiz, addicted!) and Pixie’s new Extra Eye Bright Liner ($17) is just the trick to getting my sleepy, puffy eyes looking well again!

Pixi Extra Eye Bright Liner is a new pale pink lavender shade that enhances the whiteness of your eyes giving the illusion of larger, brighter, more awake eyes even after you’ve literally sat on your butt for eight hours playing Bioshock, it’s ok, I’ve been there.

This twist up pencil has a precise point that allows you to apply to your inner rim easily. The smaller point is just the right size for the job however, the formula isn’t as creamy as some of Pixi’s other liners so a little re-lining is needed to get the pencil warmed up and flowing.

The thing I like about it is the color. So many of these pencils are a pale nude and I end up looking like a zombie wearing them. I find the paler pink FAR more wearable and more natural looking on my eyes. If you apply it correctly it will indeed brighten up your entire eye area!

On aging eyes it gives even improves the look of puffiness, seriously, my eyes are completely puffy and this takes away from that a little bit! I never joke about puffy eyes.

You can get it at Target if you want or shop it over at pixibeauty.com

What do you do to brighten up your eyes so they are fresher and more awake?

Something like this is the one thing UD is lacking in the 24/7 pencils. I’ve been considering this, Benefit eyebright, stila kajal, a mac chromaline, or a nyx wonder pencil because I need something brightening. And I’m not sure where to start, the pinkness of this appeals as does the price of the nyx pencils.

    • the Muse

TRUE TRUE TRUE! it’s one of the few colors UD hasn’t attempted. the darker wonder pencil from NYX is actually awesome!

      • breyerchic04

I went ahead and ordered all three, because it’s hard to tell which would work with my skintone. And they’re cheap.

    • Alli

Have you tried the Tarte Emphaseyes eye brightener? You may like that . For me it looks too stark but I’m also a darker medium skin tone.

  • Saffron

See this is why I read your page: you understand the need for an eyeliner to offset Bioshock Infinite. You understand me. 😛

    • the Muse

LMAO! 😀 seriously my eyes, after sitting at pc for hours straight, look AWFUL! I look like a hag lol! 😀 but yeah, def need something to brighten up after Bioshock marathon. do you love it so far?! I’m trying not to rush it and savor it but it’s so hard not to rush to the end 😀

  • LINDARRAGNAR

You know I like this color but !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 17$ !!!!! WTF Pixi has always been too expensive for my taste, but Holy turtle soup, you can buy a MAC pencil for that much, I think….

    • the Muse

yeah I hear ya Linda! they always have 20% off though which is def helpful! but $12-$14 would be a nicer price 🙂

      • LINDARRAGNAR

20% is a nice promotion, and I have a friend who works at target so I could probably ask her to buy it with ehr discount! 😉

I don’t like target because it has the “range” of prices, it really irks me for some reason.!!

        • the Muse

no i understand where you’re coming from totes, I go to target I want a deal lol ;-D their site has some sort of coupon for pixi as well (believe someone posted it on the pix eyeliner review I did recently Linda check that post) it was like five bucks off of fifteen dollars or something!?

    • breyerchic04

But that’s their goal, to be on par with mac, stila, ud, benefit, etc. I know people think “it’s at target, it should be cheap” but I’m ok with them having a range of prices especially available from non American designer brands.

    • the Muse

only wore on the waterline shadia and that was for five hours before showing fading 🙂

  • Simone

    Aha!
    I knew it!

I was browsing through pixi silky eye pencils, and spotted this the other day. I own the original eye brightener, I thought they were the same thing, but thought the band color looked different. He’d me confused!
Thanks for clearing it up 🙂

That’s a pretty color, indeed! I feel like the original nude suits my skin tone a bit better, however.

    • the Muse

this one is the EXTRA bright version ;-D judging from your pic in your gravatar you’re prob right, the nude would look best on you! 🙂

  • Kim

I use Benefit’s Watt’s Up on the insides of my eyes/sides of nose and in my dark lines under my eyes to brighten things up a bit, but the lavender color of this one intrigues me.

  • Lydia

Lavender eyeliner, huh? Sounds interesting. Lately I’ve been obsessed with Rimmel’s Scandaleyes in Nude for eye-brightening which is a fraction of the cost of Pixi one, but if I find a cheaper alternative, lavender eyeliner on the waterline sounds appealing. Great post as usual Muse!

    • the Muse

haha you read mines? was just recommending the rimmel nude one ;-D! thanks dear!

  • Nanalouu

I’m totally with you on Bioshock, damn it’s amazing so far!
Do you find the pale pink to be more wearable than a plain white eyeliner?

    • the Muse

i trying hard to savor it and not rush to the end 😀 love it so far :-D! WAY more wearable also more wearable than nude…I do however, like the darker shade of NYX wonder pencil, that seems to really work well too. For some reason white or a brighter nude makes me look like living dead girl! I guess it depends on the tone of your skin but paler pink and darker nude works best for me.

  • carrie

Muse…do you know of any similar products to this that are a little less expensive?

    • the Muse

carrie wonder pencil from NYX is quite good (nude though) also rimmel eyes has a new nude shade that produces the same brightening/whitening effect on eyes 🙂

      • carrie

I ended up getting the rimmel one today and I really like what its doing with my eyes! Plus…cheap!

      • carrie

Actually did a mini-spree at Walgreens earlier. Got the rimmel scandal eyes in nude (love it ), the milani shadow primer, the loreal power volume black smoke mascara and the loreal extra intense liquid pencil eyeliner in carbon black. Thanks for your recs on all of them! Already tried and am pleased with everything. Till I get that tax refund I’m scoping the drugstores …then back to sephora and ulta! One good thing about where I live is that a mall with sephora is 10 min away, ulta is 5 and it takes me about 10 min to even just walk to the Walgreens. So much temptation!

  • Cindy Ramirez

Um So I have to confess the reason why I’ve been quiet on your bloggy is because I’ve been playing (Actually addicted to) Bioshock Infinite! Ahhhh can we talk about how freakin’ pretty the graphics are?!

          • Cindy Ramirez

But David Hayter isn’t doing the voice of Solid Snake! They apparently didn’t even ask him to do MGS5. I’m heartbroken beyond words.

Also, very random, but have you ever seen the MGS1 parody movie by x-strike studios? The movie is hilarious and the guy who plays Snake sounds just like him!

  • Olivia

I’ve had this for a few months because I used to intern at Pixi and it’s really nice. I wish it was maybe a touch more skintone colored, but not full on nude. But it looks a lot better than white, which people have been using for years!

  • R-

Thanks for this review. I saw this online while looking at their color correctors, and appreciate the swatch!

Mally’s Lightwand Eye Brightner does it for me! It’s got a lot of different colors so its not so white, but it isn’t one dimensional. I recommend it. It is pricey at $25, but its more color dimensional too.

You can find it at QVC or on Mally’s website.

    • the Muse

r great rec, mally’s eye brightener is amazing (all her pencils are great). 😀
