Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter (New Shades) Swatches

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter New Shades

Good news Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter lovers! New shades have launched for Spring! Juicy Papaya, Pink Lemonade, Sorbet, and Wild Watermelon are four new colors that I recently picked up recently with the Revlon the Pacific Coast Collection by Gucci Westman.

Although the collection is limited edition I believe these four Lip Butters are here to stay as a reader (thanks Tammie) mentioned seeing them in the regular display at Target.

Here’s a look at the new shades!

I’ll be reviewing each of these shortly but at the risk of being a complete killjoy I will say that so far I’m not impressed. The reason I loved the Revlon Lip Butters to begin with was because they were so pigmented and has such a creamy yet balmy texture. These shades feel drier and not even of the same family as the original formula. Pigment was never lacking in the old formula but a few of these are quite sheer!

But I have to test some more!

We shall see.

If you tried them already I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Do share!

I purchased these at CVS.

wow i hope they haven’t changed the formula. i like the older ones i have.

  • Teri

Wild Watermelon looks like it’s one of the better shades of the four. Two of them look rather dry idd. Bummer, because I adore these lipsticks. I’m not sure if we get the collection here tho, which is such a shame :(. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Wild Watermelon (that name, hihi) ^^

  • Lauren W.

I just bought Wild Watermelon yesterday… It’s the only one out of the 4 that really seems glossy, and it feels about the same on my lips as the older ones I own. But I’m glad I passed on Sorbet. That one looks so dry on your hand, I can’t even imagine it on my lips!

  • Jenny Jacobs

Would you happen to know how the Wild Watermelon compares to the other red Lip Butter shades? I think they are called Candy Apple and Cherry Tart.

    • the Muse

jenny it’s not like either of those, this is a tangerine shade.

  • Stacey

The wild watermelon I tried yesterday was a great shade without being too garish was still hydrating but perhaps not as much as the originals which I LOVE!! Anxious to see what you think!!!

    • the Muse

stacey I felt the same about the wild watermelon! Great opaque color 😀 bright tangerine and very pretty…not as nice as the originals but close!

  • Ashley

Juicy papaya looks just right for Spring! But looking at the swatches, they don’t seem consistent in texture and pigmentation. wuzzupwiththat?

  • Denise

I love Revlon’s Lip Butters so definitely will be getting these!!

  • Heather

I picked up Pink Lemonade and I’m so disappointed! I have very light lips, so colors show up very well on me. This has almost zero pigment. Even if I slather it on, there’s very little color. It’s basically a lip balm that I’ll be wearing over other lipsticks.

I loved the original lip butters, and Cotton Candy became my go-to color. All my hopes and dreams for Pink Lemonade are now dashed. 🙁

  • Alex

Actually when they were released lip butters were marketed as being a sheer lip product. Several shades weren’t really sheer though having a more medium to fullish opacity with the ability to build up the colour. If some of these are sheer I can see why it’s disappointing because they’re pretty and lots of the other colours weren’t- but they’re supposed to be sheer so that doesn’t bother me.

Boo for the drier texture though :C

Hey Muse! I tracked these down at my local Walgreens last week. The Juicy Papaya one is actually a really nice shade of pinky-coral (looks like a dupe for my coveted Bobbi Brown Treatment Lip Shine in Peach Sorbet with a little more pigmentation). Sorbet reminds me of a pink-based version of Lollipop lip butter, sans shimmer and blue/purple undertones. The texture was fine on both of these for me, although Juicy Papaya did require a heavier application to build up color. It could be you got a dud, especially because my Sorbet doesn’t look as dry as yours (from the swatch).

  • Janelle

thanks for the heads up! I dont need dry and cracking peeling lips! The old formula works great. My Grams always said “if it aint broke dont fix it!”

  • Corey

i really want Macaroon to come out here, but i think it is a UK only release :(- i had high hopes for juicy papaya (to be like a even better peach parfait?) but it looks like it is super sheer-(kinda like the LR Loreal The Balms’s from the Versailles collection?)

Someone want to go across the pond and grab me a Revlon Macaroon?

    • HapaGirl

Corey, I picked one up in Asia – it’s a beautiful shade but fairly close to Pink Truffle, if you found that one.

  • Chris

I have Wild Watermelon and Juicy Papaya and have wearing them both for the past two months and I love both colors!

  • Caroline

I picked up Pink Lemonade the other day not even realizing it was one of the new shades! It’s pretty, but rather sheer. I like it, though! Thanks for the swatches. 🙂

  • Rel

I just got Pink Lemonade – even though it is such a light color it sinks into all the cracks of my lips. I have a ton of the original butters and none do this. Really not happy with the new formula, I’m glad I only purchased one of these new colors.

    • the Muse

I thought it was me rel. It’s a pretty color but same issue for me, it sits unnaturally on my lips and kinda dry!?

  • Cindy Ramirez

Gasp! I NEED these! Wild Watermelon looks so so yummy. I really hope the formula hasn’t changed. D; That will make me a sad panda.

  • Miss_Silk

oh dear…I’m gonna be running around town trying to find these now lol

  • Pixie

Everyone is billing Juicy Papaya to be a glitterless Peach Parfait- Muse, how do they compare colourwise next to each other, do you know?

  • Elisa

I have sorbet and compared to my sweet tart they are pretty much the same moisture wise. As in I still need lip balm under them to keep my lips hydrated. I tried to track down juicy papaya at 4 places unsuccessfully today 🙁

  • Justine

I bought and have worn them all, and I didn’t find the formula to be drying. Juicy Papaya and Pink Lemonade are more sheer, but I love them since they are so wearable. The other two are strong in pigmentation. I’m loving them all so far. I found them all at a new Target that just opened by my work, and I hoarded them like a squirrel! lol.

  • Missy Valentine

Pink Lemonaid looks so cute i’ll have to pick it up asap!!

I just started this blog and it would mean so much if someone would check it since I am just starting out in the beauty blogging world!!

  • Heather

Here’s hoping you just got a dud with that Sorbet one. Pink lemonade seems to look creamy from the swatch. I want some new shades!

  • bohobeauty

I almost bought all of them when I saw them in Ulta a few days ago. I found them randomly on a seperate Revlon display. Everyone keeps saying they were in the normal lip butter display, but my Ulta didn’t. Confused if these are limited edition. If so i’m going to go back and pick them up.

  • Sarah

I like the colour of Juicy Papaya, but I really hate the sparkle. I have Peach Parfait, and I can’t believe the amount of glitter in it. Not subtle at all 🙁 I think that mine differs from others I’ve seen swatched, though, because in photos it still looks lovely.

  • Clio

I HOPE they’ve changed the formula. I stand with a lot of bloggers who say they melt too easily, are too mess in the tube, the glitter in the shimmer shades looks rather childish.

Maybelline Colou Whispers — now THERE’s where it’s at!!

This packaging seems to be trying to compete with the Myabelline Color Sensational Vivids, no?

    • the Muse

hey clio perhaps other way around 🙂 as vivids came out after the Revlon Lip butters. I didn’t get any glitter/shimmer with the new shades but agree with the melty, messiness, two shades I got were very, very soft! Maybelline Color Whispers are def a nice product!

  • Avalith

Woulda loved the Juicy Papaya if it didn’t have the shimmer -_- sigh

  • Sarah

I love Revlon Lip Butters, so when I saw these new shades on sale (BOGO %50 off) at my local CVS I wanted to get all of them but I made myself choose two–Wild Watermelon and Sorbet. I LOVE these shades–for me, Sorbet is darker than my natural color and so would look good for a dressy occasion, whereas Wild Watermelon is really fun and bold (it really looks like Watermelon!) I will be wearing them quite often, for sure. They don’t seem to be drier than the originals to me, but I always put a lip balm under them anyway so I probably just don’t notice.

Looking at these swatches and what others have said I’m glad I chose those two instead of buying all of them, because Pink Lemonade would definitely be too light/sheer for my taste, and Juicy Papaya would either be too close to my natural lip color or too orange.
