Revlon Wild Watermelon Colorburst Lip Butter Review & Swatches
Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon is one of the last new shades (and the best) from the Summer 2013 Collection that I’ll be reviewing for you.
As they say, save the best for last. Wild Watermelon has the best formula of the four new shades Revlon introduced however..there was an issue.
Ok, so we established that these new shades might not be limited edition! Check your local Target as many reader’s reported seeing new slots for all four colors in the regular display. Or check CVS (that’s where I got mine) for a special display that features these colors as well as the new Baby Sticks Blusher, new eye quads, as well as polishes.
Wild Watermelon is the MOST pigmented of the four shades launched. I’ve already mentioned in my prior reviews that these colors had an inconsistent formula with the original but Wild Watermelon doesn’t suffer the same issue. Although it lacks the creaminess of the original formulation it still has excellent pigmentation and more of a balmy finish with a high sheen. Needless to say the formula is just as good as the original if not a little different. Particularly the pigment of the shade is excellent with full opaque coverage.
Wild Watermelon is a slightly odd name as the color is more of a reddish tangerine. It’s a wearable color though so don’t be frightened of how loud it is.
Now I mentioned above issues with it…sadly, it’s VERY melty….I applied and it proceeded to break off on my lips in a rather large chunk. This is the second time I had a problem with the tip breaking off as I experienced the same problem with Pink Lemonade.
Le sigh!
I was terribly disappointed as I liked the shade and now it’s quite messy and I haven’t been able to yet locate another one.
Outside of this, Wild Watermelon proved the best of the four shades and I do recommend a pick up! Hopefully though the breakage is a fluke!
