Smashbox Love Me Blush Review & Swatches
Smashbox Love Me Blush in Idolize Me is a new limited edition shade launched with the Smashbox Love Me Spring 2013 Collection.
Smashbox teamed up with graffiti artist Curtis Kulig to create the Love Me Collection as one of his most famous tags is “Love Me”. The Love Me tag decorates both the box and the imprint of the powder blush.
Take a peek!
The Smashbox Love Me Blush ($28) contains special limited edition packaging featuring Curtis’ legendary Love Me Tag. Both the solid black matte compact and the box it comes housed in are decorated with the tag. Inside the powder is also imprinted with the Love Me Tag. The tag might swipe away with daily use of the blush but it will stick around well into a few uses before disappearing.
The shade is entitled Idolize Me and is a semi-matte poppy pink shade. The color has elements of both pink and peach and lends a warmer shade of both on my cheeks. The shade quite reminds of Tarte’s Blissful as it has that natural watermelon pink finish to it.
The formula is a bit drier without shimmer or sparkle of any kind but blends easily onto cheeks with a soft, smooth finish. At a swatch it does come across slightly dry and chalky but blends and applies beautifully with an airbrushed quality. I was a little worried the drier texture would accentuate my drier skin but it looks soft, smooth, and perfect.
Cost is a little high at $28 but does contain a good deal of blush at 0.29 oz.
Overall, it’s a lovely little blush with a great formula. Price is iffy for me, would love a shave down of $5-$8 dollars but you do get a good deal of product here. If you’re looking for a light yet natural shade of watermelon blush for Spring this is a perfect shade. I love the fact it doesn’t clash with eye looks and remains very natural and fresh! Great shade!
It’s available now at Sephora, Ulta, and online at smashbox.com
