Smashbox MegaTint Long Wear Lip Color Review & Swatches

Smashbox MegaTint Long Wear Lip Color Punch

Smashbox Megatint Long Wear Lip Color where have you been all my young life? You’re so lightweight, so refreshing, you’re like an ice cold drink on a hot desert island. Are you a lip balm? A lipstick? A cross between the two? All I know is I love you so!

Smashbox Megatint Long Wear Lip Color ($20), say that three times, is a new long wearing lip tint that conditions lips and provides an extreme long wear.

This slim line lipstick provides excellent color coverage with a full opaque finish in a conditioning tinted formula. It’s not quite a balm nor is it a full lipstick but something the mad scientists at Smashbox Studios created that resembles the two but also has a formula all its own.

Smashbox MegaTint Long Wear Lip Color Swatches

Punch

This has a soft, glide-able texture that provides excellent pigmentation on a single stroke. It’s virtually weightless on my mouth and gives a bare lip finish. The cool, refreshing feel of it as I apply it is rather charming! Who knew that a lip product could be so refreshing!? I think of it as a lip tint on crack…! It has the texture of a nice little lip tint but the full color coverage of a lipstick! The finish has a high seen but the texture has a satin-y sorta of semi matte feel but a comfortable one, don’t let that matte word scare you away!

It wears for a good solid, swear to god how the hell does it do that, six hours! And well into hour eight my lips are left with a delightful stain that gradually fades a few hours after.

Gorgeous! I must have this! I couldn’t find the name of the color you’re wearing in this review though – is this “pink”? Thanks for the review – I don’t tend to go for the long wear lip stuff cause they dry my lips out, but this looks perfect!

I’m surprised to see there’s a shine to it on your lips and the swatch. Whenever I see the testers at Sephora, the lippies and the lip photos look so matte that I just pass on them. Maybe this time it’s worth a second look…

    Hi Muse,
I too have passed on these because terms like long-wearing and stain usually equal dry your lips to the point of no return. How was the drying effect after several hours of wear? Or did they dry out your lips at all?

Hi there, you’re website is really thorough. I love how its so easy to search for brands and its a very clean layout. I have a question, hope you can help me out, I’ve been searching endlessly for a matte red fiery lipstick that lasts long and doesn’t smudge(similar to what you see the Kardashians wearing, Kim and Khloe are always sporting red matte lips). What I mean is that, do you know of any lipsticks that don’t come off when you sip on a cup or a straw? Nothing is more annoying to me than seeing the residue of your lip products stuck on a straw or when you’re sipping on a cup. Lots of lipsticks claim they are long lasting and for long wear but I find that they really do smudge and come off… is there anything out there that doesn’t budge at all?? Please help. thanks, greatly appreciated.

Thanks. You are so sweet. Thanks for the speedy reply. Most of these beauty websites and youtube beauty gurus never ever reply back to comments or questions(because they’re so famous & busy I guess??). You’re wonderful. I’ll definitely check out your other reviews.
