Sonia Kashuk Moisture Luxe Tinted Lip Balm

Along with some fab new packaging Sonia Kashuk’s Target Collection has some new products to lem including the new Sonia Kashuk Moisture Luxe Tinted Lip Balm ($8.99) that provide a slip of color on lips with a lightweight finish.

I’m all about lip balms and chubby tinted pencils lately. Both of which happen to be on trend for Spring and the best part is they’ll carry me well into Summer when I don’t want a ton of gunk on my lips in the warmer weather!

Sonia Kashuk’s new Moisture Luxe Tinted Lip Balm is super lightweight with a highly moisturizing formula and that hint of tint I crave!

Take a peek!

Available in four universally flattering shades for $8.99 each these tinted lip balms are a luxuriously formulated moisturizing balm that help restore moisture to lips. Throughout the wear my lips remained soft, hydrated , and delicately tinted with a natural flush of color!

Hint of Berry and Hint of Pink

I think lip balm is possibly an insult to the formula. I wouldn’t call this a balm…it’s not waxy, it’s not heavy, and it doesn’t have a balm-y texture. It’s more like a hybrid gloss balm which adds super shine to lips and a hint of color. Color is surprisingly opaque on my lips particularly in the shade Hint of Berry so don’t expect wimpy color pay off, these pack a nice bit of pigment. They glide onto lips easily and have an emollient texture and a shiny almost glossy finish.

The thing I didn’t like about them is the flavor. They had a very odd over ripe cherry flavor? I put a question mark next to that because that’s what it tasted like to me but it was mixed with something else….! The flavor thankfully disappears quickly but during first application I found it slightly unpleasant.

Hint of Berry

But for a formula like this I’m willing to overlook it!

I love these.

Excellent color, a formula that keeps my lips super moisturizing, protects it from the sun, and is loaded with good for my lips ingredients!

A most excellent addition to my tinted balm stash!

Do check them out your next trip to Target!

Anyone try?

Do share!

That Hint of Berry looks fabulous on you! I will definitely have to check these out.

  • Ivy

Hi muse idk if you replied already so sorry if you have!! When will you be reviewing the wet n wild megalast lip stains?

    • the Muse

hi ivy haven’t gotten around to it yet, will try to do so soon!

  • Tess

They look beautiful on you, Muse. I love how heavy the case is. Feels substantial. The formula felt great, but Hint of Pink was very bright on my lips and veered too close to fuchsia for my comfort. I’m super pale, tho. Wish they looked as lovely on me as they do on you. Have you tried the CK One Pure Shine Lipsticks? Not the same as the Pure Color lipstick you reviewed last year. Anyway, it’s my favorite gloss/balm/lipstick so far. You might like ’em.

    • the Muse

hey tess aw thanks! I agree! the case is quite heavy! Aw sorry to hear it, perhaps another shade selection? I haven’t…! I’ll have to check them out ;-D

I ran out and bought Hint of Red at my local Target yesterday. It turned out to be a very subtle flushed color, and certainly felt moisturizing. My one complaint was lack of clear ingredients listed anywhere! None of the ingredients you mention in your review are listed anywhere including the sunscreen ones. Which sunscreens does this contain? Not sure why mine didn’t include those ingredients… It’s definitely the same product. Weird…

    • the Muse

hi rachel, I got the deets from the label that you have to lift away. the lippie came in a clear wrap with a sticky label that you lift up. Not sure on exact SPF at moment as I tossed the label 🙁 sorry!

      • Rachael

        Thanks Muse!

The weird thing is, I lifted away that label and I did see a list of ingredients, but no sunscreen or other natural ingredients that you mentioned in your post. I was first thinking I had purchased an old one that had been revamped – but this is a brand new product, right? I wish I had that label here – it’s at home and I’m as work, but I will send you a pic later to show you what I mean… if you’re interested. 🙂

        • the Muse

def do rachael! curious minds! I wish I still had mine, I ripped it off and tossed it. also my press release has the same information with the ingredients. No this is brand new…maybe it’s just a fluke with the packaging? 😀

          • Rachael

OK, I just took a look at the Sonia Kashuk web site and here are the ingredients listed:

            CONTAINS:
Diisostearyl Malate, Octyldodecanol, Triisodecyl Trimellitate, Polybutene, Polyethylene, Microcrystalline Wax, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Dicalcium Phosphate, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-DI-T-Butyl, Hydroxyhydrocinnamate
            MAY CONTAIN:
Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides, Carmine, Red 6, Red 7, Red 7 Lake, Red 28 Lake, Red 30 Lake, Red 33 Lake, Blue 1 Lake, Yellow 5 lake, Yellow 6 Lake

So, where’s the SPF, Acai Oil, Cherry Extract or Safflower Seed Oil??

          • the Muse

sorry Rachael…I don’t have the label anymore so can’t take a photo 🙁 did you want a pic of the press release ingredients? perhaps the website listed them wrong?

          • the Muse

updated the post to remove the ingredients until I can confirm them exactly with the brand 🙂

      • Rachael

By the way – the Hint of Red is a dead ringer for Lipstick Queen Medieval.

  • Angel

Damnit, I’m running out of space for lippies! But you make me want these!! They look soooo pretty, reminds me of those new ones by Smashbox. But these are way cheaper and the Smashbox ones practically disintegrated on my hand when I swatched them. These look great for summer.

    • the Muse

oh no! was wondering about the SB ones angel! really that melty!?

      • Angel

Yep, that melty! I was pretty shocked at how soft they were. All of the testers at Sephora looked the same. For reference, I think the Sugar lip balms are really soft, the Smashbox were even softer! I didn’t love the colors either so it was ok 🙂 These SK colors look so much nicer to me. And happy to read the above post that the red looks like LQ Medieval 🙂 WOOHOO! I’ve been wanting to try that forever, happy to get a cheaper dupe. Ok, sorry for the novel LOL!

  • Jen_m_sunshine

Hi Muse! That color looks really great on you – very spring/summer!! Hopefully that means winter is leaving us soon 🙂 How do these compare to the BE loud and clear lip sheers that came out in the turquoise tube? I love those and am almost through my tangerine one! WAs debating a repurchase but these are half price and have always had good luck with SK brand.

    • the Muse

hey jen! CAN’T wait! I’m a fall/winter girl but I’m pretty much ready for Spring/Summer ;-D tired of this cold! BE’s are lighter texture and less pigment, these have more pigment, heavier feeling on lips both have the same great glossy finish also Sonia has more shade selections! 😀 similiar formulas with little differences!

  • Vi

Hi Muse, thanks for the review! I was just wondering about the wear time on these–I find that lightweight glossy balms tend to wear away super fast on my lips, which is what happened with the L’Oreal Le Balm ones for me. Hint of Berry is gorgeous on you, btw! Thanks! 🙂

    • the Muse

I can get about two to three hours vi. the l’oreal ones fade on me fast too 🙁 aw thanks! it’s a really nice shade!

  • Jessica

I’m wondering if I got a bad one? Mine had the worst chemical smell I’ve ever encountered in a lip product.

  • Lidia

I want to purchase hint of berry, it looks so good! Does it leave behind a bit of stain as it wears off?

  • Molly

My favorite lip product is the hint of berry. But it’s been discontinued! Do you know any dupes for the formula and color payoff?
