About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Hello 🙂 I have never tried it cosmetics, though you rave about it. What do you like about this line? how does it compare to others within the same price point. I am tempted to try…. as someone who never tried this line what would you recommend ?

    • the Muse

hi melanie…I really like their coverage, there products are very pigmented and have high quality ingredients. I ADORE the concealer and my new fav is the Bye Bye Redness Base 🙂 check through the archives for ideas and reviews on what to purchase, they have some really incredible stuff especially if you like pigmented base products!

After the concealer I LOVE LOVE LOVE the vitality disk. Bronzer, blush and highlighter in one compact. It’s a little big for travel but it’s flat so… The colors in it are perfect for an everyday glow.

I also have the liquid foundation and really like it. Mascara is good but tends to dry out on me a little too quickly (???).

And, if you try anything that comes with or without the brush I would reccommend going for the one with the brush because that is the best deal and IT brushes are really nice.

Since I am over 50 I guess this new product is for me. I just read in Allure that 53 is the age a woman is no longer sexy – what do they know. 😉

      • the Muse

psfffffftzzzzzzzzzzzzz screw allure. age is a number. seriously who is a mag to tell you how sexy you are or aren’t? that’s like saying you aren’t beautiful anymore or something. So dumb! work your sexy Majick ;-D hehe!

        • Majick

Ha ha Muse! That’s what my hairdresser said this morning. My DH rolled his eyes and said,”Yeah, and next year I’m old.” That’s what it said about his age. I’m sure Allure will get a letter or two about that one. LOL

      • catazure

        Wow, really Allure?
So I have one more year of men making passes before I shrivel up into a prune??
        HA!
Muse, are you trying the Serum 50 and getting back to us? I look forward to your opinion. I love IT and will be getting the Bye-Bye redness based on your review 🙂

        • the Muse

i am indeed or I did indeed catazure so sorry for the delayed reply lost in a seas of comments. i liked it a lot but not sure it’s an absolutely positively must have product….! did you get your bye bye redness yet? thoughts? do share!

    • Julie

Try the Vitality disc – you’ll love it! The Bye Bye Under Eye concealer is also amazing. And their brushes are great.

whatcha gettin’? I think that poison ivy and a green day pair will be coming home with me.

        • the Muse

light peach, light blue, and light pink summer pair. talk me out of it would ya?

          • Ruth

*holds the Muse’s wallet in the air* do it!! crap, I meant don’t do it!

          • the Muse

lol I think I am going to do it. *hangs head in shame* ;-D I don’t need another pink of chucks…! or blue or any other damn color.

  • Ruth

well, are they different enough from anything else in your collection to justify it? That’s what I usually ask myself before I get new shoes. it doesn’t usually stop me, it just makes me think about it and decide if those colors are really needed. and then I get ’em! lol!

    • the Muse

they aren’t really :-/ *rolls eyes at myself* I need new chucks like a hole drilled in my head ;D

    • the Muse

dammit happens every time! I hauled those when they first launched.

      • Ruth

I was waiting for them to go on sale, they usually have a ton of sizes left.
The new ones with the backs already broken down are pretty awesome and am really digging the orange ones

        • the Muse

I didn’t like the broken backs, am I alone there!? I’m betting they’ll slip off my feet quickly!

          • Ruth

didn’t think about that and usually buy my chucks a 1/2 size bigger so they don’t squish my toes. I think that I just liked the orange color TBH. I passed on the current sale and got a pair of Toms with the hearts instead. at work, we can only wear sneakers on Friday but can get away with toms during the week. they instituted a no open toe shoe policy for summer, so all my sandals are in the closet and now toms are my work summer shoe.

          • the Muse

chucks always make my feet look huge so 1/2 size up I’d really look like I was wearing boats 😀 I LOVE orange too so totally get the lemming. I didn’t see the toms with hearts? pic? I’m pretty free with what I wear here (self employed) so I typically pair my converse with a business suit and no one says a word hehe ;-D even wear ’em to meetings and such when I leave my office. screw professional ;D

  • Ruth

    here are the toms:

they’re really comfy and cute, however-they will never replace my love of chucks! I’ve been wearing them for almost half of my lifetime and still have my original hi-top purple pair that I got at a swap meet in CA. they’re way too big but loved the color and didn’t care! you wanna talk about clown feet? those are clown shoes on me! but I love them and haul them out every so often to be worn. all the tread is gone so I have to be really careful on tile surfaces unless shoe skating is a new thing. but I get mine a 1/2 bigger because the rubber toe crunches my feet and am too impatient to break them in to be worn comfortably.
