Tony Moly Mini Lip Tint Review & Swatches

Tony Moly Mini Lip Tint

Why yes I do feel like a bit of a vampire after applying Tony Moly Tint! Jeepers, what were they thinking when they created this lip tint? It’s super powered pigmented and will last all day dying lips a deep shade of blood red. Honestly, it looks like I took a bite from someone’s neck…it’s just that odd, unusual too realistic shade of bloody red.

Hmm!

This actually comes in a gloss style tube with applicator in the regular size however, I always buy the little mini tints from E-bay as they are dirt cheap. You can also get them from any good seller as a sample if asked nicely!

The tiny vial is enough to last you into the next twenty years of your lip tinting life though so I’d recommend the mini versus the full size.

This is a RICHLY pigmented lip tint you can use on lips or cheeks. Although a warning for all, it really lasts a long, long time so if you apply on your face be prepared to sport a red flush for several days even after cleansing.

I think products like Benetint are awesome however, they don’t have as strong and long a wear as this formula. If you desire a reddish tint to your lips that wears long this is for you!

Some folks experience dryness with lip tints but I always find this wears lightweight without drying out my lips or sucking moisture from them. I have to admit the bright cherry shade isn’t entirely flattering as it does look like you’ve been the extra in a bad budget vampire flick so a little gloss of some sort on top will make things a bit more wearable.

I personally enjoy using it under sheerer glosses that look incredible in the tube but don’t translate as nicely as lips. A little lip tint under them always amps the color up a few notches.

The moral of this story is that Tony Moly Lip Tint is one of the most pigmented, longest wearing lip stains around.

Seriously.

Tony Moly is sold at Sasa.com as well as a variety of E-bay shops.

I purchased this item.

Muse I love this one! I’ve been wearing the bigger tube for a year and I still looove it. For a more natural look, try dotting 3 dots on your lip and (quickly) blend it out! It’s my go to product for rushed mornings. 3 dots on each lip and each cheek, blend, done. I hate the fact that it leaves a dot-shaped stain if you don’t remember to blend it out really quickly though.

    • the Muse

attika 😀 yeah, that’s typically what I do on my cheeks too! quick blend on them and it lasts ALLLLLL day! crazy pigmented stuff!

  • Lily

I have this but when I wear it (I tend to lick some off just throughout the day) and I always end up with a sore throat…the packaging leaks a bit too.

      • Ryou

I actually get the same reaction from The Body Shop lip balms! I think I might be sensitive to an ingredient in them, probably the sweetener they use? >: I haven’t tried the Tony Moly tint, however, so I can’t attest whether it would give me the same reaction or not.

      • Danii

WHOA! Don’t use Kool Aid! It will suck moisture from your hair! You want crazy bight red? Try Nuclear Red by Special Effects. Its over-the-top like this lip tint. Trust me.XD It was fun to have craaaaazy bright red hair though.

Laughing out loud at the extra-in-a-vampire-flick comment although it seem disturbingly true. I’m not one for tints and very pigmented make up but I received it as a sample several moths ago (and still haven’t used even 1/3 of it… ) and I really like it. I find it looking more appealing if I start applying it from the back to the front of my lips so that it slightly fades on the actual pout. The tint in itself is not exactly glossy so to add this effect, I put a coat of some transparent lip gloss….

BTW, I haven’t tested it on my cheeks yet but I probably will. At least my friends will have something to laugh at 😉 Thanks for the review!

    • the Muse

my pleaure Aggy ;-D do try on cheeks, it actually works if you use very little, creates a nice blushing effect! Seriously, if I’m not careful I look like Rpatz in Twilight with it on. It’s just that scared! Or Prince Charming in Once Upon a Time, they seriously use major cheek stain and lip stain on him!!!!!!!!! 😀

      • Aggey

Oh my, now that is an image I didn’t need. Prince Charming is slowly turning into a cherry bomb. Somebody on the set must really dislike him 😛

  • 앨리스

Whoa… I’ve always wanted to get a Tony Moly lip tint, but I’m not one for the shade of red… I think I’ll skip this risk :S thanks for the review!

  • Laura H.

Holy moly tony moly ! I have never seen such a pigmented stain. I neeeeed this !

  • Alanna

I also love this! I like to do the “doll” sort of lips you see in asian mags- like nude lips/lip concealer all over and then this on the middle inside of the lips so you get that flush out.

  • Denise

you actually got the cherry pink one. when you try the red apple, it’s really red-vampire-bloody. but i love this thing! cheap and long lasting. 😀

  • Ryou

How would you compare this, quality-wise, to your HG Vincent Longo stain, Musey?

    • the Muse

ryou I found VL way easier to wear, blend, and use overall. This is VERY pigmented so you have to be very careful about application. and the effects aren’t always as natural as I’d like. That isn’t the case with VL.

  • Michelle

Hehehe! The vampire joke was funny, but that’s EXACTLY what I thought as well! I have the bigger tube in the color “Red Apple,” which is even MORE red and blood-like than the cherry one I think. Strange thing though is that after applying, although I look like I just drank blood for breakfast, I kinda like it. On me, it dries out my lips a bit and it fades to a red orange (odd, huh?) by the end of the day, and it remains there for the next 48 hours despite scrubbing. So I’m a little hesitant to wear it sometimes since I’m more of a natural/nude lips girl. 😉

    • the Muse

michelle it stains my lips/cheeks as well! LOL horrifying! it’s a bitch to remove!

      • Michelle

Forgot to mention that not only does the stain stick there for days afterwards, the stain stays the darkest on the inner ring of my lips (does that make sense?), and on the pieces of skin on my lips that still remain even after scrubbing. So I end up looking like someone just clipped me across the mouth?! I can’t even imagine how much scrubbing you have to do to get it off your cheeks! That sounds so painful! Hahaha

        • the Muse

LOL! seriously that’s why I don’t use it anymore on my cheeks ;D

  • melissa

i’ve been avoiding sasa because i just got a huge order from them at xmas time but I think it’s time to branch out again. Any other recs for my cart? I want to look like i made out with a vampire so I’m trying this for sure 🙂

    • the Muse

lol melissa ;-D sounds good to me. check out the shills collection of goodies as well as their my beauty diary newest offerings ;-D plenty of good stuff in both categories!

      • melissa

Shills is a great idea. Cheapy stuff! Yay. I’m working on a cart now. That whole 75 for free shipping makes it worth it because shipping is about the cost of a product. I know my silly beauty math..,,want $8 lip item and $2 nail file, get $65 in “stuff” to get free shipping. oy.

  • Ali

I’m in the market for a crazy long lasting red stain… because I smear all my lipsticks. When I looked this up on Amazon, though, it had two color options.

  • Cindy Ramirez

WTB please. During the warming time of the year I can’t be bothered to keep applying lipstick, I tend to go for a lip tint! This sounds amaaahzing.

  • It’s Gamayun

Muse, you forgot the most important thing about the full-size lip tints:
    CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATS!
(Portal 2 fans, please read that in a Space Core voice)
    The older tint tubes are now discontinued and all Tony Tints now come with an adorable kitty-head cap (not unlike the mascara.) I’ve got one on the way but it won’t be here until mid-April ;_;
Also, did you notice any flavor with this? Some bloggers say it has a strong inky chemical flavor.

    • the Muse

LOL love the portal 2 reference ;-D HAHAHAHA! now I have that voice in my head ;-D mmm no, kinda faint fruit taste?!

    • Esther

      I agree about the taste.

I’ve tried the Lioele Blooming Pop Tint in Cherry, and the taste is nice and sweet.
After applying this exact Tony Moly tint, it’s a really bad taste. The taste is really bitter in my opinion.

  • soubidaaa

i think this is supposed to be used for the gradient lip that is really popular in korea now… not to put all over your lips.. that’s why it looks scary when you put it on :/

  • fatima

i love whenever i search a review for some product your blog probably has it.. just love this thing!
