Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer Review

Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer

I admit I’m a little lazy about moisture applicator so Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer is definitely a handy product for me. Ironic isn’t it? Considering I spend SO much time taking care of the skin on my face you’d think I’d be as diligent about the skin of my body. Not the case. I hate applying moisturizer in the morning because I feel like my body is slick and greasy feeling when I slip into my clothes so I typically do it in the evening. Which is fine I would say but the problem is I have drier skin so I really should moisturizer AM and PM.

So spray moisturizer, that I can get on board with. The lighter texture and the ease of use makes it easy to get my hydrating in plus hey, it’s freaking spray moisturizer, as a beauty love I’m kinda squealing out loud that I can spray my moisturizer on.

Take a peek!

The new Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer is available in three formulas and is launching at drugstores now. Each can is 6.5 oz and contains about 30 uses per a can for $7.99 each. The convenient can allows for a fine mist of moisturizer to be applied anywhere on your body and absorbs easily in seconds. Although not as thick as a regular moisturizer this still provides all the great benefits of a regular moisturizer hydrating skin with a delicate fresh floral scent.

It’s simple to use! Just spray it anywhere you need moisture and massage it in with your hands. It absorbs in seconds and gives skin a silky soft finish. There’s even an Aloe Vera formula which will be great for taking with you on vacation as it’ll be a refreshing treat on skin after a warm day in the sun!

The non-greasy formula allows you to cover harder to reach spots as well like your back!

I admit, I’m slightly obsessed with this at the moment and kinda enjoying the fact that I’m getting my daily moisture intake morning and night now. Thanks Vaseline!

Thanks for the excellent review, Muse! I wouldn’t have known about this item, otherwise! I also refrain from using moisturizer in the am for the same reason – stickiness on clothes. I think I will give this a try. Thanks so much!!

    • the Muse

omg I thought I was alone 🙂 I swear I hate how moisturizer feels on my skin with clothes on. It’s like I just put my clothes on after a shower, my pants stick to my legs, my arms to my shirt, etc…YAK hate it! 😀 This is so much lighter and easier to use. Even if you just use it in the AM and follow up with something richer in the evenings 😀 At least now I’m getting good hydration in both AM and PM 😀 try it! I think you’ll love it plus I’m geeky and think spray on moisturizer is hecka cool….issues I know!

  • Barb

this one makes me laugh.. i really don’t see the difference in moisturizing with a spray or moisturizing with a pump bottle… you’re still moisturizing and still rubbing it in… the only difference is the texture? oh well at least you’re getting in to the practice of moisturizing!!

I’ll stick with my Olay… love the fragrance … love the texture.. no sticky or greasy http://www.olay.ca/en-ca/skin-care-products/OlayBodyLotion/silk-whimsy-body-lotion?pid=075609041914

as they used to sing… “keep them guessing… with oil of Olay” hahaha

    • the Muse

it’s a little less heavier than a regular cream which makes all the difference in the world for me in the morning 😀 lol oily of olay, TRUE that 😀

    • Katie Hart

I think the appeal is that it doesn’t dry as slow and you don’t feel sticky. I usually lay around in my bath robe for 30 minutes after I moisturize so it’ll settle into my skin. Not with this guy! lol

  • Cj

Me and my mom are hooked on the aloe version 😀 I hate hate hate greasy body lotions, it makes me feel dirty lol, this absorbs in a snap and just makes my skin feel nice and soft 😀 Cj approved! LOL

    • the Muse

we’re making an icon like that, “CJ and Muse Approved with Love” 😀

  • Joy

This is awesome! I’ve been wanting something like this forever. I’m so glad someone finally read my mind and made it for me hahah

Thanks for the review, Muse. I shall purchase asap! <3

    • the Muse

my pleasure joy 😀 me too! Just makes moisturizer so much easier for me in the AM ;-D

      • Joy

Okay so I totally went out the same day and purchased the aloe version of this product. Swoon! Totally 100% swoon worthy! I used it after shaving my legs and they felt ridiculously soft and smooth– plus, no razor burn! And the scent is great. I’m insanely sensitive to fragrances so the fact that I both enjoyed this and it didn’t give me a headache is a major plus.

The only downside is that while my legs were ridiculously moisturized…so was my floor LOL. I should have expected that hahah

        • the Muse

oh no! joy stand on a towel as you spray 😀 sorry I should have mentioned that but so glad you like it!

  • Deb

Thanks for bringing this one out, Muse! I have to moisturize after every shower, every day. My skin is too dry not to. I prefer rich creams, lotions, and body oils. I’m excited to try this, have been looking for a spray moisturizer for a while. Nivea used to have one and it was excellent but I guess it was discontinued. Sprays are great for getting your back where you can’t reach. How did you find the lasting power on this? Good for a day or only a couple of hours?

    • the Muse

hey deb! my pleasure! I thought it was nifty. Same issue here, my legs are ashy if I don’t apply moisturizer. but I dislike how my richer creams feel on my skin in the day :-/ good for all day moisture but honestly, if you’re super dry you’ll want something way richer than this! It’s great for daily use and in the evening following up with your richer lotions 🙂 Hope this helps!?

  • Blee

He’s a thought ~ ever try adding the oil to your skin before a shower? Use a dry cloth to wipe off then apply lighly again and shower. I do this only on my arms and legs and it is so nice to have moist skin out of the shower. And you can pat dry and put on your outfit for the day :). You can even use the spray oils too. I have been doing this most of the winter ( this is great for dry skin anytime of year ) and it sure does help. No fuss with the way your skin feels with the clothes. 😀

  • susy

thanks! so nice that you answer questions! i try not to use aerosol items with my son who is sensitive to chemicals. i guess i’ll have to stick with regular lotions. thanks!

  • Krisz

Hi there! I just discovered your blog and I love it!! It is awesome and highly professional and I can find a post about EVERYTHING what interets me!! Thanks and greetings from Hungary 🙂

    • the Muse

hi krisz nice to meet you! 🙂 aw I’m so glad you are liking the site and you’re finding it helpful! 😀 xoxoxo!

  • Lindsay

I love this moisturizer. I own the cocoa butter version and use it every day. Mine comes out in more of an even mist than it looks like yours did? Or maybe it was just closer application? Anyways this product is AMAZING for my toddler, who would rather run around than let me put any sort of lotion on him. But this tickles and he thinks the spray is neat. I rarely rub it in on him, it’s just a couple sprays up and down him and he’s off again.

    • the Muse

just closer swatch image lindsay, it’s a finer mist when used away from the body I used it super closer 🙂

  • Celine

I will for sure be trying this out! I’m the same way, I take great care of my face but lack on my body which I shouldn’t because I have super dry skin. For me, its the fact that I find putting lotion on in the morning a time thing. Its just an extra time consuming thing to do.

    • the Muse

it’s time for me too celine plus don’t love how it feels with my clothes over it so totally relate 😀 but this makes it a little easier ;-D

  • Joan

I bought one and wasn’t sure if I liked it. After a few uses, I do like and bought the other two. They smell really nice and the scent lasts a long time.

  • Nat

I don’t think I’ll ever switch from my Soap & Glory body lotion, I loves it sooooo much 😀

  • Missy Valentine

I actually just picked this up the other day and I can’t wait to try it after this great review!

I just started this blog and it would mean so much if someone would check it since I am just starting out in the beauty blogging world!!

I just got this in my influenster box, and what I like best is the effortlessness. I’m disabled and weak so putting on body lotion can wear me out, this is really nice. My skin was so soft. I want to see them make one in strawberry (:

  • alex

i seen this spray and go on tv and googled online looked great had to go to few stores and got all three scents well its great for hands maybe good company but they absolutely failed on the fragrance and tried all three scents this spray is very nasty in the smell dept had to wash off made me sick the coca is ok when you put it on then after a while it really stinks its not sticky or oily i would not buy this stuff again or use it cant get pass the smell.they must have used homeless people to pass the scent test.
    beware of the smell!!!!

I know you’re a Lushie and that’s why I absolutely ADORE silky underwear, it seriously helps combat the sticky lotion feeling. In the mornings I skip lotion altogether because I really hate cold winter mornings standing around half naked waiting for lotion to dry. So instead right before I get out of the shower I like to put some body oil on, that way some of the excess can rinse off. I dry off a little bit and before I put skinny jeans on I dust some silky underwear in the legs of my pants. True, there’s still a bit of stickiness but it sure beats the midday scaly alligator leg feeling of no moisture in the am.

I also like to use silky underwear after self-tanning because I find most tanning lotions are a bit oily. Of course you have to wait for it to mostly dry before putting on the powder, otherwise you get a weird oily/tanned/powdery white mess which is just awkward.

And have you tried the Olay in shower body lotion? I switch off between the in shower body lotion and c booth bath/body oil followed by silky underwear, and I’m telling you it’s pretty baller.

  • Clio

I’m exactly the same. I have the most dry skin ever, but I HATE moisturizing! Have you tried the Garnier Body Intensive 7 days “soothing cream gel”? It’s not a spray, but it, too, has a distinct “gel-like” formula that’s supposed to absorb faster. It isn’t perfect, but it’s definitely an improvement to greasy lotion!

Question — you say this product is floral scented. Is the scent strong? I often use Vaseline products for their mildness, but if the product is scented, I will for sure be allergic to it. 😛 Joys of sensitive skin.

    • the Muse

i haven’t clio will have to take a look at it sounds good 😀 mmm it’s a fresh floral that def sticks around, it’s not overwhelming but you can def smell it on your skin.

  • LA McCartney

I purchased some with the specific intent of using it on my back – dont waste your money! If it came out in a fine micro mist it has the potential of being great, but because it comes out in one big stream, it’s pointless. I have extremely dry skin and cannot shower without moisturizing afterwards…was hopeful this would be be a time saving option for me, but not at all. I’ll stick with my Curel.

  • laura

Has anyone ever thought of trying coconut oil spray? I have the trader joes brand, and I think its cheaper then the vaseline stuff. I thought of it because I am also lazy about applying moisurizer, and everyone is talking about how great coconut oil is for your skin, it smells nice, but its dense and hard to apply. I’m a little skeptical though because I wonder what other stuff they put in there to make it spray (like propellent) but if you can ingest it you should be able to wear it right?

  • ferg

Ask yourselves…How do you turn something as thick as Vaseline into a spray…easy…add loads and loads of water…tested it out and it’s basically a big ole bottle of water without the moisturizing capabilities of actual Vaseline…go waste your money on a nice new pair of stilletos and leave this mess on the shelf.

  • Ali

Could you please describe what each scent smells like? I am having a very difficult time determining this and I want to order them online from Amazon. I see that you tried all 3 so I thought you might know. Thanks!

  • Sonia`

I just tried it and 2 days after that I went to the hospital with burns! The doctor told me it was a chemical reaction to the ingredients in it…so be careful with it!

  • Lynda Dodd

I, too, had an allergic reaction to this product. I got a sample at my gym. I used it for two days. Felt nice and smelled nice. Then I started breaking out on my arms in big red patches with bumps. I finally had to go to the doctor today. She gave me a cortisone shot and some pills. I have made no other changes to my routine, my laundry additives or anything else so an allergy to this product is all that makes sense.
