You get:

  • Tarte Amazonian Clay Shimmering Powder in Champagne
  • Tarte Amazonian Clay Mineral Powder Bronzer in Park Ave Princess
  • Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Captivating
  • Tarte Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow in Hammock, Bikini, Barefoot, Parasol, Sun Deck, and Poolside

Honestly, if you’re indulging, indulge for the gorgeous shade of Captivating blush alone! This is a subtle shade of orange-y coral in the pan but applies with a really pretty pop of coral on cheeks making it a perfect Summer loving shade!

My look I created below is super subtle but Tarte includes not only bronze-y gold shades flattering for Summer but also a lovely shade of aqua for lids as well to spice things up if you don’t want subtle! As far as I’m concerned aqua, gold, and bronze are always excellent picks for a Summer fun eye look.

The texture of the shadows are actually a little different from Tarte’s typical offerings. These are as silky and have more of a creamy, velvety texture and are a bit powdery. They apply easily but since they tend to kick up a bit of dust they also create a little fall out which is easy enough to clean up thanks to the lack of shimmer. The colors are so soft and buttery and wear very nicely without fading or creasing throughout the day! They apply like a dream and I find them very easy to blend together. Although just a warning, some of the light shades run a tad frosty but thankfully the frost blends out to a smoother finish so they aren’t left looking too heavy or shimmery on my lid.

They also happen to be user friendly in terms of Summer shades! Nothing too loud here…it’s all about a soft bronze-y eye look with gold accents and perhaps if you’re feeling risque a little aqua to spice things up.

I think the palette is a bronze girl lover’s dream as you have all the perfect accents here to flatter glowing Summer skin. The real star of the show for me was the gorgeous and very captivating (great name) shade of coral blush!

It’s the perfect Summer palette for toting on Holiday with you!

Have you tested how waterproof they are? The idea of waterproof shadows/blush is super interesting to me.

    • the Muse

the blush has the same formula as the typical amazonian blushes so it lasts all day on me without a hiccup. Typically that formula also does well for me in humid/warmer air. Shadows haven’t really rested in the water/etc…!

  • Cindy Ramirez

I was just sticking my fingers in this at Sephora today! Looks so so lovely, poolside is sooo pretty!

  • Sara

I picked this up today and also recommend.. I also just found the color tattoo in seashore frosts that makes a great base for poolside. Not one dud in this palette….me loves too muse!

    • the Muse

OOO thanks sarah, gonna try that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;-D glad to hear it, I thought it was a fab one for Summer!

  • Alycia

I’ve been debating purchasing this for 2 weeks . . . Do I need it? Probably not . . . but I really want it and I think it will be great for travel. Thanks for the review and swatches.

    • the Muse

my pleasure dear 🙂 maybe wait for one of tarte’s percent sales ;-D than you can justify it further hehe!

  • amy

I just can’t justify this, although it is absolutely adoreable, and I love tarte. I can pretty much dupeb every shadow in my tarte palettes alone, except maybe poolside, but it’s not a shade I’d wear. I’m glad to see the quality is there, though!

  • yelena

i’m confused by your review of the eyeshadows. are you saying this are more or less powdery than their usual formula or more or less buttery? sorry i’m slow today. haha. I typically DON’T like tarte’s eyeshadows because i’m not impressed by their quality but do LOVE their blushes. so if these ES are better, I will get this in a heartbeat!

    • yelena

sorry to be a pain muse, but can you please clarify on the eye shadows? better than normal tarte palettes, or no?
(eg. I wanted the true blood palette but was disappointed in the ES quality because of the fallout and lack of pigmentation).

      thanks 🙂

      • the Muse

hi yelena, different than tarte’s normal palettes…typically they have a soft, silky, thinner consistency shadow. these are velvety with a texture like Stila’s eyeshadows. Hope this helps.

    • the Muse

it’s a buttery, velvety texture much like stila eyeshadow but not like the typical silky, thinner consistency and subtle pigment of some of their larger holiday palettes. Hope this helps.

I bought it from Tarte the minute is was available and I LOVE it!!! And yes it is perfect for travel, I took it to Legoland last week and it made me beautiful for the sun every single day! Saved room in my makeup bag for sure! I think Sephora is giving away an Aqualillies shower cap with any $25 purchase, check their FB. There’s another incentive to buy!!!

  • Kira

Oooh I really shouldn’t but… *adds to cart* xD This looks too gorgeous! That blue… *drools* Is there shimmer in the blush?

  • Diane

I just got this palette and have been loving it all week. Love the eye look u did and it looks beautiful on you! Im trying to think of how to incorporate poolside as more than a liner..any ideas? =)

    • the Muse

hey d thanks ;-D lower lash line? also outer crease with a little barefoot in the inner lid? 😀

  • Sallie

Favorite palette ever!!! Trumps both NAKEDs, even naked basics in my opinion. I have fair skin and parasol is quite possibly my favorite eyeshadow ever. I ordered it as soon as it became available!! Love the entire line 🙂
Also TRTE gets you 15% off 🙂 on tartecosmetics.com

  • Robin

Ohhhhh I soooooo want this! I’ve been drooling over it since I first saw it. I just can’t justify buying it……and believe me I’ve tried.

  • JoElla

    You look lovely hon!

I want to be excited about this, but so far..meh. I bet this is a ‘it’s okay on the interwebz’ and more of a ‘OMG MUST HAVE’ in person palette?

    • the Muse

aw thanks jo 🙂 <3! I think the photos prob don't do it justice but if you play with it I imagine you'll fall in love ;D

  • Stacie

I have this and love it! I think it will be perfect to bring on my summer vacation. The colors are beautiful and the powders are very soft. Love the aqua for under my lower eye for that extra pop of color:)

  • Jennifer D.

Hi there. I love to do reviews for products on my YouTube channel. I recently got hacked and had betweeen 250-300 videos stolen. I immediately completed the form, wrote on the forums, everything as instructed, etc. I did this twice in the first week. Now, I am told by YT that if they had known within the first week they could have restored my videos. Oh, hun, I could have cried again. So many years of hard work. I love bring new products to my viewers. This product is a wonderful one and between driving just 10 miles Hautelook had sold out of it. Very popular. I want to try this…silly budgets:) I love your blog and I love reading the reviews. Right now, since my husbands stroke in ’09 (he was only 36) and finding a new career of my own I am truly finding a love in drugstore products also. I have to admit I truly miss placing orders online. However, I still have a wonderful husband and I am thankful my channel was saved. I would love to get those vids back and so wish YT had a customer service number for at least very serious things like this. It was serious enough that the FBI was involved. I thought I was being punked. It scared me afterward and he insisted I verify his name with the main number. We met at a police station. I was wondering who was calling since my address was also posted on twitter when my twitter account was hacked. Sorry for the long post, just wanted to say I appreciate all of the hard work you put into this as I just lost most of mine and realize those hundreds of hours. Also, this is a wonderful product and I appreciate the review…I really need to budget to get some! Have a wonderful Tuesday!

    • the Muse

sorry to hear it jennifer that’s awful 🙁 good luck getting your youtube channel back up and running!

  • April

Hi, thanks for the great review! I have monolids that make nearly everything smear and I’m looking for eyeshadows (that are relatively natural) that will not make me look like a raccoon. Would you recommend this palette for a monolidder? Thanks so much! 🙂

    • the Muse

hi april, monolids are always a tough call. these might be a little too buttery and thick for your lid and cause creasing. you wanna go with something softer, silkier, and more finely milled for lids. That type of finish/texture will apply easier for you and no issues with creasing….hope this helps!? I don’t have monolids but many of my friends do and typically that’s the formula they prefer for shadow.

      • April

Thanks for the quick reply! You just saved me from making a pricey mistake 🙂 Have you tried any eyeshadows that you could recommend to a monolidder? Thanks again!

        • the Muse

hi april! my pleasure…mmmm hard to say 🙂 I don’t have a monolid so can’t say I tested anything on such an eye type…I find that many Japanese eyeshadows are just the right consistency for monolids! 🙂

  • Small Eyes Shorty

Thanks for your great review on this amazing palette!!
I’m gonna grab it when I reach USA on next weekend!!
Really love your lashes, May I know what mascara you used?? =)

    Thanks!!

    • the Muse

hi small eyes! aw thanks, it’s mac gigalash mixed with tarte lights, camera, mascara I believe 😀

  • Lauren

I just picked mine up because I love Tarte products and I am taking a cruise this summer and thought this would be perfect to create day and nighttime makeup without having to pack a ton of products and it’s waterproof. Thanks for the great review!!
