Bare Minerals Advanced Protection Moisturizer

Oh hello you gorgeous thing! That’s right I’m talking to you Bare Minerals Advanced Protection SPF 20 Moisturizer ($30)! You’re such a cheap tinted moisturizer with a luxurious formula, I’m terribly impressed with you for Summer wearing and tearing.

I’ve been using Advanced Protection SPF 20 Moisturizer the past two weeks and I must say I’m pretty impressed with the formula. Why are tinted moisturizers so damn costly from higher end brands? I love this nice and neat $30 generously sized TM from Bare Minerals so much I’m going to recommend you try it out for yourself.

Take a look!

Bare Minerals Advanced Protection SPF 20 Moisturizer

Bare Minerals Advanced Protection SPF 20 Moisturizer is actually available in a sheer tint as well as a regular formula. I’m personally digging all over the tinted version at the moment. It is pretty dark so I would warn away those with fairer skin however, those of medium to tan skin types will happily get on board with this. It is a sheerer tint so its pretty universally flattering for a wide range of medium skin tones.

It contains basic SPF 20 with a gorgeous gel-like consistency that absorbs easily into skin and has a subtle lavender scent. The formula is paraben-free and extra gentle providing lasting moisture to my skin while evening out skin tone and acting as a lightweight foundation for more natural coverage.

Bare Minerals Advanced Protection SPF 20 Moisturizer Swatches

Seriously, I’m so not in love with full on foundation or BB Cream for the Summer months so tinted moisturizers are all the rage for me. This is powered by Bare Minerals Active Soil Complex with contains a host of antixodants and nourishing minerals.

I dare say it’s as great if not better than Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer (my HG TM) and at a cheaper price tag.

Do like!

It’s available in both dry skin, normal, and combination skin type formulas.

Try it.

I think it’ll impressed you!

They need to offer it in a lighter shade though for the fairer skin folk out there but it is rather sheer so you might just be able to get away with this color.

sigh. always too dark. My Berry Berry BB cream arrived…and it’s too dark for me, had to give it to a friend who’s not as pale. I am le bummed. (However, the baby choux base also arrived and I’m loving it, so at least there’s that.) C’mon, BM, give us a lighter shade. Pretty please?

I have to say I’m disappointed in the low level of SPF. I remember them touting the inclusion of SPF in the powder foundations, and how important it is, yet now the recommended guidelines are a *minimum* of SPF 30, and they don’t even provide that. At this pricepoint, as a consumer, I would expect a product to provide the basics, at the very least. While I could use an additional product prior, that kind of defeats the purpose (or what I would expect) of the actual product.

i am too but I typically apply sunscreen before anything else anyway as I don’t trust I get enough even with a BB Cream that has an SPF of 45 or 50 as you really have to apply a lot of to get the proper sun protection so def prefer applying my own sunscreen prior!

“reapply every 2 hours?” C’mon BE…. only if you’re outside sweating like a draft horse!! “activesoil complex” kinda creeps me out too… makes it sound like you’re rubbing dirt on your face! 🙂 I know it’s just the minerals, and there probably aren’t a hoots worth in there, but stillll

Hmmmm…. I’m pretty much normal in the summer… Wonder if my lil JCP Sephora has it and would sample out this stuff for me? I’ll hafta check.

Too dark, too warm. I can usually get away with slightly darker shades because I wear everything very sheer, but the yellow is an absolute no-go for me. Even some neutrals will pull warm on me. *le sigh* I love BE, and I would appreciate some love in return. 😛
