Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick Summer 2013

Bare Minerals delights this Summer with a new range of Marvelous Moxie Lipsticks ($18) and Lipliners. Marvelous Moxie Lipstick are available in 18 vibrant shades and have a rich, pigment packed formula that glide on like a butter but have the coverage of a lipstick.

Extending the Marvelous Moxie Collection from mere Lipglosses to these new Lipsticks and Lipliners is possibly one of the best releases I’ve seen from Bare Minerals in a while. Lipstick is an unexpected treat from our friends at Bare Minerals since it sort of kinda remains an untapped product source for them.

Take a look!

Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick

Releasing April 30th, Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick is a pigment packed lipstick with a lightweight texture that’s positively dreamy. Don’t get me wrong here but Bare Minerals isn’t exactly well known for their lipstick line. 100% Natural Lipcolor is their original collection of lipsticks but I feel like they never had a large following especially when you’re comparing them to other products in the BE Collection that get way more love.

Live Large, Be Free, Live It Up, Get Ready

I think with Marvelous Moxie Lipstick’s launch we’ll see a bigger push for lipstick in BE’s world especially since the formula is quite delightful.

These have a creamy texture with a feather light formula that glides onto lips with a buttery texture but the pigment of a full coverage lipstick. They have a shiny finish so lips appear fuller after application and the hydrating formula created with Abyssinian Oil and Omega Fatty Acids keeps lips baby soft and smooth. The satiny texture feels more like a lip butter than a lipstick to my mouth but the full color definitely reminds me I’m wearing excellently pigmented lipstick.

I think it’s rather impressive they created such a color rich formula with such a weightless texture that doesn’t migrate or feather. They have a mint flavor and fragrance reminiscent of the Moxie Lipgloss formula but more subtle.

At a glance the slick black tube with the push button mechanism confused me as I thought the lipstick would slide out from the top. You actually have to flip the tube over, push the button up, and the lipstick barrel releases from the bottom. It’s a little quirky but I like it as typically lipstick that slide from the bottom to the top end up getting squashed.

Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick How to Open

I think Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick is a fabulous lipstick formula. I don’t typically get excited about lipstick but these have a great texture with a long wearing formula that’s perfect for bolder looks this Summer especially with a texture this lightweight!

DO check them out.

They’ll be available at boutiques, online at www.bareescentuals.com, Sephora, Ulta, and Dillards starting April 30th.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Yeah! Thanks for the review. Can’t wait to get my hands on the red one.

Quick note — the 100% Natural isn’t their original line. There was a line before that, in a smooth rubberized tube, which was discontinued when they brought out the 100% Natural line. It included some of the most amazing colors — Yumi (a golden pink — Bravon used it on me at my first makeunder with him), Beach (a sandy pink, and my favorite lipstick ever), and Empress (a very pretty pearlescent plum) were my favorites. You can still find them at the outlets from time to time.

Now, with the Moxie lipsticks. the 100% Natural is being discontinued. Too bad for me, but too bad for BE, because I won’t pay $18 for a lipstick (I don’t use one color lipstick all the time. I use a minimum of seven, with another three I use occasionally — all of which are the 100% Natural line, which are the best lipsticks I’ve even used — and I started using it over 40 years ago). Once the 100% Natural line is gone, I’ll be looking for a drugstore lipstick.

I really like Live Large on you, Muse! I may have to pick that up myself. I like the peppermint tingle from Moxie so I may invest in a couple of these.

blue I think you’ll love them! great formula ;-D looking forward to hearing your thoughts when you tried!

  • Majick

These look really FAB! Every color you have tried is a winner on you. I think I could wear all of these as well. Crud, now I’m gonna have to check them out when I go back to Ulta. LOL

    • the Muse

aw thanks majick ;D great formula, think you’ll love!

  • Josie

How do these compare to the too faced la creme lipsticks? Thanks!

  • Nancy

I just picked up Rise Up at Ulta, a bronzey pink. I love the texture and the moisturization! I usually stick with glosses in the summer, but this one is too pretty to leave until fall.

The 100% Natural (which they’re unfortunately discontinuing) is actually their second lipstick line. The original lipsticks (discontinued when they brought out the 100% Naturals) were a pretty broad line in terms of color, style, and color depth. What annoyed many of us was, they never duplicated their most popular shades (Yumi was the holy grail for so many women) when they brought out the successor line. My favorites were Beach, Yumi, and Empress. You can still find some of them at the outlets — they come in a smooth charcoal grey tube.

Why didn’t I read this long before I went to sephora last week? Lmao! I bought urban decay anarchy lippie literally the day before they announced their FF sale! Argh that’s hugely frustrating!! But these look lovely… Remind me of TT Lip Sheens maybe. Get Ready on u dear is lovely! So is Live Large…

I was thinking of buying the Be Free lipstick and decided to look at some reviews before I buy it. I think the colour looks so nice on you, so I think I’m going to buy it. Really great review !
