Etude House Correct & Care CC Cream Review & Swatches

Etude House Correct & Care CC Cream

Etude House just recently introduced their first CC Cream in Korea. Etude House Correct & Care CC Cream is available in a Silky and Glow formula promising an 8 in 1 formula that addresses the signs of anti aging and stress while whitening, hydrating, protecting, and smoothing the texture of skin.

At the moment Tony Moly’s newest CC Cream that I reviewed recently is topping my list of must have CC Creams but I dare say Etude House will be quick to follow.

Take a look!

Etude House CC Cream

I purchased Etude House Correct & Care CC Cream in the silky formula since I’m not a fond fan of glowing CC or BB Creams. This has a smooth, even finish sans any sparkle, shimmer, or pearl.

Unlike BB Creams, CC Creams are actual a step down in terms of coverage but still promise the same anti-aging benefits. CC Creams provide sheerer coverage and Etude House’s newest CC Cream is pretty basic, sheerer coverage. I personally don’t need a ton of coverage so these next generation CC Cream formulas are ideal for me as they correct but with lighter coverage that’s perfect for Summer wearing.

Etude House Correct & Care CC Cream 4

The formula is a self adjusting formula that starts white and supposedly self adjusts to your perfect shade of color. Unlike Tony Moly’s CC Cream I found this wasn’t as friendly a formula to adjust well to a range of skin tones. It has a pink undertone to it that seems best suited to fairer, creamier skin tones. Considering it is so sheer possibly a range of tones can use it though from fair to medium just not darker as you probably won’t see the benefits.

Keep in mind the formula is meant to correct so it will perfect skin to extent but won’t offer the coverage you might associate with a BB Cream or need to conceal blemishes or problem skin. It will however, correct problems like redness, darkness, dullness, or uneven skin tone. It basically takes already good skin and makes it great. For me it’s a my skin but better finish.

The texture is very much like Tony Moly’s formula although it does run a little thinner in consistency. The runnier formula absorbs easily into skin and leaves behind lightweight coverage that protects with an SPF 30. I do prefer using my own sunscreen prior though as I feel more protected this way. The finish here is dewy at first but dries down to a soft, silky feel. It eases my dullness beautifully and perfects, evens out, and creates a healthy glow on my skin. The wear time varies but it seems to keep that fresh, healthy look on my skin for at least six to seven hours before my skin starts to look a little dull again.

I have to say so far the CC Cream releases in Korea have been pleasant experiences for me. I loved this formula just as much as I did the Tony Moly one. I thought nothing could be as great as BB Cream but I’m realizing that the lighter texture and the more natural appearance of a CC Cream formula is exactly the type of coverage my skin craves. I don’t personally have bad skin aside from dullness and dryness but it does however, need a little boast to make it look great and this is exactly what that does.

I wouldn’t recommend it for those who need coverage and concealing I would however, recommend to those who already have good skin but want it too look its very best.

Well worth trying out.

I got mine on E-bay from seller f2plus1 (I am not affiliated with this seller).

    I have a question!

Since you say the CC creams offer less coverage, would you recommend these over a BB that is on the sheerer side like the Dr. Jart Waterfuse? What would be your preference? Sheerer BB or one of these CC creams?

Love the blog!! 🙂 Thanks for all your hard work and time invested!!

    • the Muse

even waterfuse is more pigmented than this rebakah so you might consider that prior to a purchase. did you want the coverage or did you want the correction? that’s really the difference between the two. I wouldn’t say I prefer this over that but a matter of what my skin needs at that moment…hope this helps! aw thanks appreciate it 🙂

  • Rafia

So someone like a, NC 45-ish wont be able to use this? It wont blend enough?

    • the Muse

you won’t really see any benefits on an nc45 skin type…you can wear it since it runs sheerer but it might cast a little bit of a pasty finish and also not really do what it is meant to do which is correct the skin tone.

  • Kira

I’m loving CC creams as well! And Étude House’s packaging is girly and elegant, as usual 😀 Do you prefer this one or the Tony Moly?

    • the Muse

def cute packaging…mentioned how I am liking them in the review hope this helps.

  • Denzen

Hi Muse! Which one do you think is better, the Tony Moly or Etude House CC cream? I am torn on which one to get for my first CC cream :p

    • the Muse

I liked the tony moly a wee bit better than the Etude House, both are excellent picks though!

  • Jem

I just ordered this yesterday and I can’t wait to use it! I’m glad you’re loving it! Hope it works for me too! 😄

  • Tinose

This looks totally relevant to my interests.

Would you say it’s more concealing than tinted moisturizer? I have mild rosacea and tend to need a bit more coverage than that, but not that much more coverage.

  • Louise

I was looking into purchasing this cc cream as well to see how it compares to the Tony Moly one! Might decide to purchase this when I finish my Tony Moly cc cream as this looks like another great product by Etude House.

  • Coco

Love reading your reviews! Just wondering…does this settle into creases or get patchy at the end of the day like BB creams do? Thanks so much for testing out all the latest products for us!

    • the Muse

i haven’t had bb creams go patchy or crease at the end of the day? so def didn’t happen with this. Hope this helps 🙂 my pleasure glad you love the reviews!!!!!!! xoxo!

  • Giyongchy

    Hello~

I was wondering if you will review the Etude House Precious Mineral BB CREAM Cotton Fit. And i also have a question: can i use the bb cream combined with this cc cream?

    Love reading your reviews! ^^

  • blueraccoon

This might actually be pale enough for me, concept. I want to wait for my first CC cream to get here before I buy another, though (I bought the Face Shop Aura CC cream and am waiting for it to arrive).

  • Jennie

This sounds like a nice product but I think the L’Oreal BB Cream already offers the same features for me.

  • Christi

I have this and I’m loving it! I also think the U.S. brands are doing sooo much better with CC Creams than they did with BB Creams!! (The high end brands that is, not drugstore) I have the Clinique, Smashbox, & It Cosmetics CC Creams & they’re all great, especially the Clinique! Maybe the Western brands are finally getting it! The It Cosmetics CC Creamis actually made in Korea & the second ingredient is snail slime lol! I actually prefer light coverage just like u were saying, so I think I may prefer CC Creams. Now I am obsessed with them, and I have like at least 30 Asian BB’s. At least I’m a makeup artist so I can keep some in my kit & say they’re a business investment lol.

    • the Muse

I gotta say christi I agree completely 🙂 I think its because we aren’t expecting a ton of coverage so these light formulas are exactly what a cc cream should be plus they have correcting benefits! the it cosmetics one is amazing been testing it for three weks now and loves! also adore the clinique! haven’t yet checked out the smashbox but that’s next!

  • sai

Muse do u prefer this one or tony moly one?
i have brought tony moly one after reading ur review…and that is amazing!
thinking if i should also get this one too !

    • the Muse

really loving both sai and I think they are well worth picking up! Tony Moly is a fav but Etude House is just as great 🙂

  • tita

hai love this review, but I prefer your Tony Moly reviews a bit better.
Im NC30 and combination type,do u think it still look good on NC30 skin tone? Or Tony Moly would do better than this on NC30?
My friend suggest me this product, but she has fairer skin tone, so I’m kinda torn between two of them.
I don’t have much skin problems though so I think cc cream would be my first choice.
    Thx for reviewing ^^

  • Christine

Hi, I use tony moly CC Cream now, and I don’t really like it bcoz its too oily for my skin.. Does Etude CC Cream could overcome that oily problem? Would u prefer BB Cream or CC Cream for daily use? Thx..

  • Pauline

    Hi,
I have been running all around town trying to test out all these CC creams… There is so many out there. Just wondering have you tried Missha’s CC cream yet? I am torn between all the CC creams that I have tested on my skin…

  • Paige

I just wanted to point out (although I haven’t actually tried this myself but have heard of others doing it) that this could be used as a skincare-packed primer under a regular foundation for those who need more coverage than CC Cream alone provides. Or for those who like the concept of BB Creams (coverage of a foundation but packed with skincare) but have trouble finding a shade to match.

I really liked the original EH Precious Mineral BB Cream formula – #1 Sheer Silky Skin was actually pale enough for me, it lightened my freckles nicely over time and really dried up & healed any pimples I had. Then it was D/C and changed to the Bright Fit formula. Well, the lightest shade of that is too dark for me so I can’t wear it anymore. Missha makes a pale BB Cream #13 but OMG so full of mineral oil, I just ended up with clogged pores and greasy skin.

I plan on buying this CC Cream to use as a primer, because since I ran out of my original Precious Mineral BB Cream my skin has gotten bad again 🙁

  • Shirley

    Hello there,
If you had to choose between the Tony Moly or Etude House CC cream which one would you choose? I would like to buy one so please respond.
    Thank you!

  • Rhonda

Hi! I have the Tony Moly CC cream and am a bit put off by the smell. Can you tell me if the Etude House CC cream has a scent and, if so, how it compares to the Tony Moly? Thanks! 🙂

  • fellie

Hi,great post. So this CC cream can even the skin tone from blemishes/redness if use it daily ? I can bare if it can’t conceal a lot of my blemishes since AC Clinic Sun BB Cream is not a good cover either. But I need sth that can fade my blemishes permanently not just conceal it for a time being. Thankyou :3

  • Sarah

Hi! I have dark spots on my face, should i use concealer/foundation first than layer it up with cc cream or cc cream as a base? And i have a normal kind of skin, if i take the silky one (#1) should i put a mosturaizer on? Thank u! Anw i just got addicted with korean makeup&skincare, since korean drama are so worth to watch, lol. Would you recommend me something good in that case? Thank u tjank u

  • Nikki
