Holika Holika 3 Seconds Starter Review

Holika Holika 3 Seconds Starter

Need to jump start your skincare? Meet Holika Holika 3 Seconds Starter, a magic potion to prep skin for serum, moisturizer, and other lotions and potions.

Available in a Collagen, Vita Complex, and Hyaluronic Acid these gel-like starters prep skin by adding extra moisture and host of good for you ingredients.

Take a look!

I picked this up in the collagen formula because I’m under the illusion I need to start firming my skin. I’m hitting new highs in my anti-aging adventures lately.

This particularly formula adds extra moisture to skin while improving firmness and elasticity. This comes in a generously sized pump style bottle (I’m not sure of the exact size but seems around 3 oz or more) and a little goes a very long way so this will literally last ages.

I dunno if you necessarily need to purchase it but if you’re a skincare junkie you might like to try it. It’s a basic runny gel-texture which absorbs into skin and preps skin for either other skincare or makeup. It has a fresh, light fragrance that disappears after application. It’s a good tool for me considering I have drier skin so it adds extra hydration to my skin and allows my moisturizer to absorb more easily. Think of it as a serum of sorts if you will!

It’s also a rather nice lightweight gel moisturizer to prep for makeup especially powder as the added moisture it provides will easy the way for a smoother appearance of powders.

The Vita Complex sounds particularly interesting since it contains Vitamin C as well as Niacin. I haven’t tried that version yet but will do so shortly.

I wouldn’t say I’ve seen any improvement in my skin after use but I will say it adds that extra bit of moisture that my thirsty skin can really use.

It’s available from a variety of sellers on E-bay for close to retail prices of around $8.

Tried it?

Do share!

I purchased this item.

I just recently purchased the Hyaluronic Acid one and I love it! I have oily skin so it’s great for me to use during the summer without giving a greasy look.

I have the Vita Complex one 🙂 I love it, although I wish it was a tad more moisturizing 🙂 Juju Aquamoist Hyaluronic acid essence is still my HG essence 🙂

      • Denzen

I liked the magic primer although it wasn’t as moisturizing as I hoped! I loved your review on the Etude House Baby Choux base though so I’ll definitely try that next! 😀

          • Denzen

I hate the smell, it’s like car air freshener :p Luckily though it goes away after a few seconds of application, I just have to hold my breath or face the fan while applying haha 🙂

Hi Muse, Happy Friday! This looks interesting. Like you, my skin is so dry and just sucks up moisture. I am a serum junkie and use it every day under my moisturizer. I’m always ready to try anything that will add that little extra boost. Did you experience any problems with your moisturizer on top of this? I’ve noticed that some of my serums don’t mix so well with my moisturizers. Maybe because I’m constantly using and mixing different brands…..dunno for sure. Did you try it under different moisturizers or always use the same product on top of it? And was this sticky? Sorry for the barrage of questions, I’m just really interested in this. Thanks and have a great weekend!

I’ve never tried Holika Holika before. Because of your review I went to ebay and ordered three products. Hopefully I like Holika Holika as much as you do. JennyD 🙂

My three items arrived today (Vita Complex, Hyaluronic Acid serum and the Vita Mist). I wasn’t sure what order in which to use the items but I used the Vita Complex first figuring it’s like Vitamin C, Niacin etc and then the Hyaluronic Acid. Love how even after applying both products it felt like my skin was still nice and bare. I hate when products are thick and just sit there on the surface making my face feel sticky or tacky. I’ll use for a few weeks and see how they’re working out. What I found odd was the “recommendation” of each is to use within 3 seconds of washing/drying your face. Hilarious! I mean, that’s rather impractical especially if you’re using both products. If you have any tips or feedback please do let me know! Thanks for reviewing.

yay happy to hear it jenny ;-D LOL I know seriously come on..three seconds!? I didn’t bother even mentioning it in the review it was so ridiculous ;-D I typically wash, pat dry, and apply, perhaps its 10 seconds between that time!? lol ;D

Everyone please remember that, supposedly, your skin DOES NOT absorb collagen…I’ve actually been taking collagen pills recently (aka when I remember to do it). And even then, I’m not exactly sure how much collagen my body is getting, but should be more than a topical treatment. 🙂

  • Burcidi

I don’t think it’s necessary to take collagen supplements until much older because collagen decreases as we age, particularly after menopause.

Whether collagen skin creams actually get absorbed is questionable. Apparently, some do and some don’t.

I’m yet to try a collagen cream, thinking about trying the Etude House moistfull collagen cream.
