Laura Mercier Lip Crayon Review & Swatches
Launched with Laura Mercier’s Summer 2013 Collection her new Lip Crayon comes in three shade selections, hello can we get more shades of this fabulous pencil?
Sadly, these are around for a very limited time so if you want ’em best grab them now while the going is good.
Take a peek!
This smooth lip pencil has a thinner formula compared to other pencils of its kind but that doesn’t prevent it from packing a heck of a color pay off. Pigmented, long lasting, and virtually weightless it’s the perfect way to get full color coverage on lips in a lighter formula for Summer. Do love it!
Don’t ask me to compare these to anything because I can’t. They aren’t the balmier texture of Clinique’s Chubby Pencil or Tarte’s version, they are however, as pigmented as Revlon’s formula.
They have a moist, pleasant feel on my lips and I love how weightless they are. They aren’t the type of formula that makes itself known while you wear them which is a complete plus when you don’t want anything heavy on your lips in the warmer weather.
They apply like a dream! So smooth, so silky! And with a very nice sheen. The pencil provides full color coverage in a single stroke in the shade I tried. It’s really a color saturated pencil so if you don’t love the more natural look of Clinique’s version these pack a good deal of pigment.
I tried the shade Burnt Clay which I found a bit unwearable. It’s a really deep shade of brown that wasn’t terribly flattering on me however, no denying the color is BOLD! You have to be a little careful with this color as it has a knack for wanting to travel around your lip line so a little transparent lip liner (or colored) will keep it from migrating.
If I were Laura Mercier I’d consider launching a whole range of these Lip Crayons! They are some of the best ones I tried to date but the shades (and the actual product) being so limited makes for a sad Muse.
Le sigh!
Oh well one can hope she’ll do a few other shades in upcoming collections.
