MAC Baking Beauties Pro Longwear Paint Pot

The MAC Baking Beauties Collection features five shades of Pro Longwear Paint Pots in a variety of new and repromoted shades. Thank god for repromotes as I’d never have discovered the joys of Let’s Skate which was introduced with the MAC Holiday 2011 Collection.

I can’t believe I didn’t haul this back than but I think I was under the assumption it was too pastel. How wrong was I?

Those who love Trish McEvoy’s Demure MUST, must pick up Pro Long Wear Paint Pot in Let’s Skate. This gorgeous pale pink (almost white) shade is loaded up with a ton of sparkle. I admit Demure is one of my favorite shades from Trish McEvoy as it does incredible things for my eyes. It’s one of those shades that brightens up the eye area and diffuses the look of dark circles. However, Trish’s version is far less sparkly compared to Let’s Skate. This is LOADED with sparkle so just beware prior to a purchase.

Dangerous Cuvee and Let’s Skate

On the upside…the color is just so great for lighter skin tones as it creates this beautiful base for powder shadow or just alone to lighten up eyes. It’s the perfect natural base with lovely shimmer. Darker skin tones can definitely use this but beware during application as too much and it might look a bit pasty. Practice a lighter hand during application!

MAC Dangerous Cuvee Pro Longwear Paint Pot is also a repromoted shade which is a pewter almost lavender metallic shade. This is loaded with shimmer as well but does do a wonderful smoky eye look. The color is one of the creamier Paint Pots I’ve run across but has a longer dry down period which means I was able to build and play a little longer during application versus the denser formulas I’ve run across in Paint Pots (one reason I dislike them at times). The color does prove challenging to work with at first as it goes a tad patchy on my lids but building creates a smoother finish with better intensity.

I haven’t tried the other shades from the Baking Beauties Collection but looking forward to it as I’m happy with these two thus far.

The collection launches April 18 at all MAC locations as well as online at maccosmetics.com

I bought Let’s Skate not too long ago from Nordstrom. I don’t like it at all. It creases like crazy even with a primer underneath and the glitter gets everywhere. I was actually surprised that it was so subpar. Am I the only one who has experienced disappointment with this paint pot? The glitter is pretty while it lasts. Maybe it would work better with powder shadow over it but then I fear it would cover the glitter too much.

get demure from TM ;-D much easier to wear, less shimmer, must admit I adored Let’s Skate even with all the shimmer no creasing issues thankfully ;-D

I really like the color of Dangerous Cuvee too, I have it from the Champale collection, and it does go on patchy and flaky glitter gets everywhere. I’m still searching for a dupe of it,because I do love the color 🙂

I think Let’s Skate is better this go round. I purchased and returned in 2012 because it was so sheer and really didn’t put down any color. I’m thinking I may have to give this reformulated version another chance, as your swatch looks gorgeous!

I picked up Eclair, and glazed right over Dnagerous Cuvee and Let’s Skate because I didn’t care for them the first time.

I never tried the original Shannon, sounds like I didn’t miss much either, I am in LOVE with it now though! Gorgeous color! ;-D

I wish that this collection were a little better. I was so disappointed. The devils food lipstick was extremely dark for it to even be a summer collection item, and the glitter is too teal for me. The paint pot I liked. The color is beautiful! I created a review on my blog as well
