Missha All Around Safe Block Essence Sun SPF 45 Review

Missha All Around Safe Block Essence Sun

The Asian market has SPF and sun protection formulas perfected. Missha All Around Safe Block Essence Sun SPF45/PA+++ ($13.99) is proof positive that Asia makes a FAR better and superior sun protection base than anything you can get here in the US.

I typically prefer Japanese and Korean SPF myself due to their texture and ease of use. Anything I find here in the US is typically so greasy, heavy, and smells god awful.

Seriously, try out Missha All Around Safe Block Essence Sun and prepare to be delighted!

My HG SPF is Kanebo’s Allie line of products however, since Summer is almost here I’ve been fiddling around with a wider range of sun protection products to review on Musings.

Missha All Around Safe Block Essence Sun recently passed across my desk and it proves not only easy to find here in the US but a value at $13.99 that I knew I had to try it and showcase it for you guys.

This oil-free sunscreen applies easily, absorbs in a snap, and doesn’t leave skin with a white, pasty cast. It acts not only as your sunscreen but as a moisturizer as well should you like to skip out on your daily moisturizer. It’s delicately scented with a fresh floral scent so you aren’t left with the yucky, beach-y SPF fragrance! Gag me! It protects against UV rays.

It’s extremely comfortably to wear, lightweight, and breathable. It feels like you have virtually nothing on your skin once applied and has a mild formula free of mineral oil and talc. Soothing Aloe Extra helps this to absorb and apply easily into skin and it even contains brightening ingredients to treat a duller complexion!

I think the joy here is the gel-like consistency of the cream. I find so many SPF products in the US are slippery and leave behind an oily film plus they are so very heavy. This absorbs as quick as a lightweight moisturizer and you’ll NEVER know you have it on once applied. Too many SPF products make themselves well know after application. This is weightless, breathable protection that doesn’t leave your skin feeling oily after use.

Ooooo, I’m going to have to pick this up! I’ve had bad luck with Korean sunscreens (tried Skinfood) since the ones I used were more creamy & heavy and I’m used to Japanese milks or water essence types, but this looks good. 🙂

    • the Muse

I am spoiled with Japanese sunscreens C, they are so incredibly lightweight 🙂

  • Moon

I wish I had bought this when they had the F&F sales 2 days ago! I should but I don’t use enough sunscreen since I cannot stand the awful smell…Now I have to pay close attention on Missha’s next sale! 😉

  • Pilar

Hello muse!! Which one do you prefer the most, this one or the biore aqua rich watery mousse? I’m trying to decide between those two as you seem to love them both!!

    • the Muse

both are great pilar, equal love for either one ;-D they are great sunscreens 😀

  • Lib

Oh my! One that doubles as a moisturizer too! EEEEE that makes me excited. I love the Japanese sunscreens too, especially the milky sort because they go on easily and dry to a matte finish which is great for oily-skinned gals like me. But I will go ahead and purchase this one since it might replace the moisturizer step for me xD

    Thanks for the review, Muse!!

If I wasn’t inlove with my dior I’d totally order this, it seems right up my alley I know I’d love it lol

I was looking for a good sunscreen to use for the summer, so I bought this right after you made this post. I’ve only used it a couple of times, but so far I really like it. The smell is a little strange, but it really feels like a normal moisturizer! I love it!

  • lil’eve

I meant to buy it after your review but missed that free shipping on $10 sale but I want it. U r so right about Asian cosmetics vs. American!!

  • lil’eve

i bought 2 when they had the $20 coupon but i feel like it makes me red and blotchy. howeeeeverrr… i used it on my 2 year old daughter just to see and her skin was beautifully moist and glowy lol. ill give it another chance again.

It looks like Missha no long has this on the website. Have you tried the sun milk? Any thoughts on it?

  • Chloe

    *longer*

Right now I’m stuck between the Missha products and the Kanebo allie you like so much–as in I’m not sure which to try!

  • Chloe

Haha! It looks like it’ll have to be the allie, eh? I’m actually trying to put together a new regimen modeled after my Japanese host mom’s routine. You know, oil cleanser, foam/gel cleanser, rice/gel exfoliant,serum/essence, and emulsion/ spf for the day. Any other product suggestions? I’ve got the all too common sensitive/combination skin. Basically a finicky princess plastered on my face!

    • the Muse

hey chloe! 😀 awesome! always nice putting together a new skincare regime! 😀 if you click the skincare archives you’ll find a TON of stuff I’ve recommended/reviewed!

  • Christine

Hi! Thanks for the great review, i’ve been wanting to try this myself as I hate how gross western sunscreens like Neutrogena feel. The only thing keeping me from buying the Missha is I don’t know if it is Broad Spectrum.

Do you know if any asian sunscreens are broad spectrum? Most just go by the PA+++ rating and i’m not 100% sure what that means.
