Skinfood Platinum Grape Cell White Sun Essence SPF 50 Review
Since SPF season is upon us I’ve been testing a few new ones out one of which is the Skinfood Platinum Grape Cell White Sun Essence SPF 50 PA+++.
This interested me because it not only protected with an impressive SPF 50 but also because it was created for duller skin types to not only brighten but also to address dark spots and to firm skin with grape cell extract.
Take a look!
This comes housed in a pump similiar to Skin79’s Pink and Gold Label BB Cream. It’s an easy to handle pump which dispenses the perfect amount of product without overdoing it.
Supposedly this contains grape cell extract obtained from gamy grapes in France. This extract firms skin so if your skin is aging supposedly this will help.
I personally purchased it for the sun screen benefits. Supposedly it protects from UVA/UVB rays while brightening skin.
Unfortunately, just like my experience with the Omija Whitening Collection this did very little to whiten or brighten my skin. I would recommend it for those with drier skin as it is quite emollient and thicker in texture. It absorbs easily and would be best used as a moisturizer and SPF as using both products will be a little too heavy for Summer wearing.
I was purchasing it in the hopes of using it as a Summer SPF but actually it is probably more suitable for a Winter one considering how rich and creamy it is. I like the texture but I can see it becoming too much of an issue for those with oily skin as it does run rather heavy.
It does not leave a white cast on skin nor does it give a ghastly appearance even though at first application it appears it might.
Overall, Skinfood Platinum Grape Cell White Sun Essence SPF 50 will offer very nice protection for Winter however, as a Summer SPF it’s a little too rich for my blood plus the promise of brighter skin doesn’t really factor in for me after over a month of use so don’t expect this to address dark spots while protecting your skin from the sun as that benefit of the product didn’t work for me, I didn’t see results unfortunately.
I purchased mine directly from Skin Food in Korea however, many E-bayers sell it close to retail or it should be available in shops if you live in CA.
Tried it?
