Young Blood Anti Shine Mattifier

Young Blood’s Anti-Shine Mattifier ($36) joins their Spring 2013 Collection right on time for the warm weather ahead. Youngblood Anti-Shine Mattifier acts to control oil, perfect skin, and promises long term mattifying benefits.

I think you possibly NEED it.

YoungBlood Anti-Shine Mattifier

Much like my beloved Mally Face Defender, Young Blood Anti-Shine Mattifier is a solid primer which works to set makeup while absorbing excess oil.

Think of your very favorite silicone primer now think of it poured into a compact, solidified, and applied with a sponge applicator. Sound intriguing? That’s because it is! Young Blood’s Mattifier is a solid silicone primer which is used after makeup application (or before) to set it while keeping skin free of oil.

Young Blood Anti-Shine Mattifier

Nigella and Pumpkin Seed oils to purify and balance the skin while the primer keeps skin matte for ours on end. This erases the appearances of smaller pores, fine lines, and absorbs excess oil while keeping skin shine free. It perfects skin and acts as a barrier between makeup and the air to keep it wearing longer without shine or oil messing up the finish of your foundation, bb cream, blush, and other makeup.

It glides onto skin easily with an included rubber sponge and can be used under or over makeup. I typically use it to set my makeup so after I apply my full face I simply sweep this over my makeup. It keeps my oily forehead shine-free through the day. Those with oily skin I highly recommend it as it’ll work well to keep your pores hidden and your face oil-free. It probably will require a touch up or two if you have extra oily skin but the slick black compact with a dual compartment containing the sponge on the lower tray makes it easy to travel with!

And the price is right too at nearly $5 less than Mally’s version!

Can’t recommend this enough for the Summer weather!

A fab way to keep your making looking fresh and flawless sans shine!

It’ll be available shortly at ybskin.com

for primers like this, would you apply them before or after a powder? I typically use a light wash of powder foundation over my bb cream to set it and give a little more coverage.

    • the Muse

it’s up to you alanna I personally recommend completely your entire face including your powder before applying. It’s versatile though, you can really do it anyway you want 🙂 before makeup, after makeup, before powder, after powder, any way you like really 🙂

  • Vi

Muse, could you possibly swipe this on your finger or something so we can see what the texture is like? Thank you! 🙂

    • the Muse

vi it won’t really photograph as a swatch unfortunately, it’s simply transparent so you won’t see anything, not even the texture really.

Oooooooooooh *looks at nars powder, throws it away* does this last longer than Mally’s? My one complaint with hers is I get shiny after like 3 hours :S and I’m not even oily skinned lol

    • the Muse

LOL omg we are SO terrible you realize that right!? ;-D It does actually last a little longer than mallys…my drier skin and shiny forehead, I’d say about four hours or so between requiring touch up.

      • Cj

Totally, we need help. Makeup addicts anonymous… Anywho sounds good ill order this when it pops up 😀 I already like the packaging better than Mally’s lol. I hope it comes out soon…

Excited, as I received a sample of this in my Birchbox this month! I’ve got super oily skin so hoping this helps out at least a little.

Oooooh color me curious! *adds to the list*. Trying to make my way through Mally’s now. I like it but don’t loooove it. Was tempted to try a similar on that Skinn Cosmetics has.

*picks up the Nars powder Cj tossed because I am in love with it*
