Almay Longwear & Waterproof Gentle Eye Makeup Remover Review
I know, I know why am I reviewing Almay Longwear & Waterproof Gentle Eye Makeup Remover after last week’s fiasco with the Almay Eye Makeup Remover Pads right?
Well, I did purchase these together so I thought that lightening wouldn’t strike me twice. Thus I decided to try this formula in the hopes it would be better than the pads.
I’m unsure if Almay has every offered bottled eye makeup remover before. I honestly can say I don’t recall it and considering they have new displays popping up with a variety of eye makeup removers perhaps this in fact a new product. But feel free to correct me if isn’t as after all those pads were merely repackaged as I learned. Oh woe is me.
This appears to be a dual phase remover but look closer and it kinda resembles water and oil. Thankfully it isn’t oily though so no trippy, cloudy vision after use. It swipes on easily and leaves eyes soft after use but not greasy.
It’s excellent for lighter eye makeup removal and does a fair job removing powder and cream eyeshadow. My main issue with it was the fact it does a little bit of a poorer job with waterproof mascara. After removing my eyeshadow and swiping a few more times to get at my mascara I still had a good deal left over on my lashes that this didn’t do well at completely removing.
I personally rely on my eye makeup remover to remove both my eyeshadow, liner, and mascara prior to using cleansing oil to do the rest of my face. I dislike have streaks of mascara under my eyes and cheeks as I rinse my face off which is the reason I use an eye makeup remover to get it all off prior to washing my face.
Unfortunately, Almay Longwear & Waterproof Gentle Eye Makeup Remover is indeed quite gentle but a little too gentle as it did a poor job removing all my eye makeup. This is great for those who wear a lot less eyeshadow and eye makeup than I do.
