Canmake Perfect Serum BB Cream Review & Swatches

Canmake Perfect Serum BB Cream

If you’re currently shopping BB Creams for Summer wear might I direct you towards Canmake Perfect Serum BB Cream? Canmake Perfect Serum BB Cream is available in two shades with a whooping SPF 50 built right in.

Canmake is a lower end, budget Japanese cosmetic brand and typically I dislike Japanese BB Creams with a passion as most are too yellow for my skin and they typically have a super thin formula when compared to the creamier, richer texture of Korean ones.

However, Canmake definitely won my heart with this. I’ve been using it since it launched, probably a year or so ago? And it’s one of my favorite BB Creams from Japan.

Take a peek!

This is actually the old formula of Canmake Perfect Serum BB Cream but there is a new lighter version. I personally prefer this version just for your reference.

This offers UV Protection (SPF 50 PA+++) in a sheerer formula that can be built for better coverage. It comes in a Light and Natural shade selection (the Natural is swatched in my review and the best suited for my tone).

Supposedly it contains a host of different ingredients including Hyaluronic acid, collagen, ceramides, royal jelly extract, witch-hazel extract, arbutin, Jobs tears extract, Saxifraga stolonifera extract, aloe vera extract, ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate, artichoke leaf extract, cherry leaf extract, prune resolvent, seaweed extract, soybean extract, glycosyl trehalose, gingko extract, peach leaf extract, hydrolyzed silk, European white birch bark extract, and multiflora rosehip extract.

The shade is a very neutral medium with warmer peach undertones. It’s not an exact match for my skin tone but it does look fairly natural when blended in. This is a good shade for those with warmer tones since it isn’t pasty, whitening, or too fair.

The texture is quite creamy and doesn’t have the thinner consistency of many Japanese BB Creams. It’s emollient and quite moisturizing with but has a soft, satiny set that should work well for most skin types. I wouldn’t say it has oil control built in but it won’t make oily skin look or feel shiny/greasy. Since it has a bit of a tack it gives that second skin finish that lasts all day. Literally you can get through a humid day in this without it wearing away or fading. It does not oxidize either, I was fearful it would due to the strong peach in the shade.

It blends fairly easily onto my drier skin and doesn’t accentuate to my flaky, drier areas. I think the texture is a little bit thicker and tackier than a Korean BB Cream so it lacks a certain creaminess and feels more emollient but this isn’t an issue for application or during wear or at least for me it isn’t.

The shade is sheerer so it won’t conceal major problems it will however, ease dullness and create an overall perfected look on skin and ready it for makeup.

Overall, Canmake’s BB Cream formula is definitely one of the better Japanese BB Creams I’ve tried. I really enjoy the amount of coverage it provides, the great wear time, and how the formula feels and performs on my dry skin!

This one is worthy of a check out. I recommend it for drier skin in particular.

Adambeauty.com and AlphabeautyUK (E-bay) carries Canmake (I am not affiliated with these sellers).

Muse, have you tried Kate’s BB Gel Cream? I’ve stopped looking for new BB creams to try since I got that! But interesting post, might as well look this one up ;D

b, I have, I like it but it kinda just reminds me of kate’s gel foundation, same texture…not really BB Cream for me…but good stuff none the less 😀

When I want heavier coverage, this Canmake BB Cream is my go-to. And this stuff really stays. The best way for applying this is by using fingertips to gently pat the product on. Due to the thicker texture, a brush will just drag the product around especially if you have dry / dehydrated skin.

…not to be off-topic but I read this as “Cakeman”. I need to get off the internet.

my favourite bb cream – i’ve been using it for the last couple of years, and you’re right, i also feel the original one is superior to the light version

My current fave BB is Missha’s Wrinkle Filler one; I love the way it smells (although my friend says it smells like “old lady perfume, but nicer!”) and the coverage is great. 🙂
