Clarins Splendours Colour Qaurtet & Liner Eye Palette

Clarins Splendours Colour Qaurtet & Liner Eye Palette is a new limited edition eyeshadow palette introduced with Clarins Spendours Summer 2013 Collection.

This gorgeous little palette is done in the style as many of Clarins’ past LE palettes housing four shadows and a liner inside with applicators for application.

Take a look!

The Clarins Spendours Eyeshadow Palette comes in a gorgeous tortoiseshell compact with what looks like an ancient Mayan design or a sunburst of some sort. The compact is pretty yet practical enough to travel along with you as this isn’t a mirrored compact that will easily collect fingerprints.

Clarins Splendours Colour Qaurtet & Liner Eye Palette Swatches

Clarins includes a dual sided face chart for easy application to create two looks using the shadows inside your palette. The palette has four soft, buttery shades of eyeshadow and one dense, matte eyeliner. These shades are all bronze-y colors that will flatter a sunkissed skin tone. You get a lighter creamy beige, a bronze penny, a delicate rosy bronze, and a matte brown plum. The liner shade is a dark brown plum.

The shadows are super easy to work with as they have a lightweight velvety texture that blends easily with absolutely no fall out. The colors aren’t super intense but can be built up easily for better color pay off. The liner isn’t entirely friendly if you’re looking to create more straight lines with it but it proves excellent for smudging into the lash line to smoke out eyes.

For my look below I went for a more natural look using the rosy shade all over my lid, a little of the plum brown in the crease, and highlighted with the creamy golden beige and a smidge of the liner smudged into my lash line. I think the look is very natural and easy to wear. The lack of sparkle in the shadows also makes them appear more vibrant on my eyes without hindering the look with a ton of shimmer.

Overall, I can think of a number of Summer of looks to create with this little palette. It’s quite a nice selection of shades with a quality formula that’s easy to apply. It’s worthy of a check out your next trip to your Clarins counter. I think you’ll likely fall in love with it.

I love all the colors but the bronze – that one looks too warm for me, I think, I’m just not drawn to it. I’m still tempted, but I think I can convince myself to skip this. The lip balms, on the other hand, may have to be mine…

These colors really make me think of Autumn! I can dig!

Also, can I just gripe about the GLOgetter Lorac Palette? Just returned mine today. >:'[

Wow the textures seem lovely your the swatches Muse! Although I’m loving the Clarins brand at the moment because I tested their tinted sunscreen this past weekend and it worked out well, this will be a pass for me. Browns with yellow/orange/red undertones make me look bruisey 🙁

Muse: can these be used wet? I am dying for some colors that can be used wet…and I dont want the run of the mill Chanel lol

    • the Muse

they are a little too powdery to be used wet Janelle :-/

I’m with blueracoon in that I can see using all the shades except the bronze. However, as pretty as they are, they seem too easily dupeable from my current stash, so I’ll pass. That liner, though, *almost* makes the palette worth picking up, anyway!

What does the palette look like with the lid closed? Is it all tortoise shell? Just curious! Thanks for the review, as always! This is a beautiful palette, I just may “need” this!

it has a starburst design, couldn’t quite capture it in a photo. the lid is TS but the back is kinda a gold mirrored design.
