Doir Diorshow Art Pen Review & Swatches

Doir Diorshow Art Pen Summer 2013

Have you met Dior’s Diorshow Art Pen ($30)? It’s danger, danger, danger for folks like me that start sweating bullets when a felt tip liquid liner is placed in their hands.

But if you’re one for creating stunning cat eye looks this might be one you’d like to check out.

This lovely little pen plays a guest starring role in the Dior Summer 2013 Collection and features a felt-tip applicator that has a kajal style point which tapers to a fine point. This precise point allows you to easily line eyes in a single stroke….or maybe not so easy for folks like me. That design of the pen also allows you to go from a thinner line at the inner corner of your eye to a thicker one as you apply outward!

As easy as this is to apply I still happen to suck at application but I will say it wears damn long, has a no tug application, remains waterproof and budge proof on my drier eyes, yet rinses off easily with water at the end of long day!

Now practice makes perfect right?

Well, maybe I shouldn’t practice with a $30 liquid eyeliner……

It’s available now at Dior counters.

How masterful are you wielding the liquid liner wand?

So these are like artliner 2.0’s huh? I used to love those! Definitely gonna check these out

  • christy

Nice! Well I figure if you can’t get it right with a $30 eyeliner then you probably can’t get it right with a cheap one either. It looks great on you 🙂

    • the Muse

      lol true true christy….thanks…little sloppy :-/ I tried ;D

  • Audrey

Felt tip eyeliners are my fave! Muse, your eyes look HUGE. So pretty! 🙂

    • the Muse

aw thanks audrey! kinda messy application on my part! wish I can get felt tips down and liquids ;-D I stink!

You want a REALLY full proof pen liner that’s not felt? Try the Maybelline Hypersharp liner. It’s a brush..pen..thingy. Super, SUPER fine, dark, a little watery but nothing majorly off-putting. It’s just beautiful to use really. And…I’ll be honest, it looks/works better than this :/ Weirdly enough, Maybelline Thailand/Singapore has some REALLY good offerings compared to the Maybelline USA. They have so many unique things and the Clear Smooth BB is WAAAAAY better coverage then Dream Fresh BB. Why is that?

    • the Muse

oh I agree….! also japan maybelline has some INCREDIBLE eyeshadows compared to the US ;-D thanks for the rec will check out the liner ;D

  • Jackie

I just purchased the Phys. Formula eye booster in ultra black and it has a nice thin tip that would be good to practice with. It’s 6 dollars off at CVS right now and I got a coupon at the kiosk for an extra 3 dollars off. Pretty awesome since I’ve never really used felt tip liners before and could use the practice too.

  • Laura

Have you tried Dolly Wink’s liquid eyeliner? It’s really great! 😀

    • the Muse

i have indeed. ;-D dolly wink makes some fun products!

  • Nadia

It is nice to see you with liner! I am terrible with liquid liner as well and since i have small eyes i don’t line them often

    • the Muse

hi nadia ;-D me toooooooooooooo i stink at it ;-D and I always feel a little TOO made up with it on 😀

  • Alex

These felt tip liner things scare me. For whatever reason I absolutely cannot work with them- and aren’t they supposed to be easier? Lol. Urban Decay’s liquid liners are like my BFF.

This liner also isn’t nearly dark enough for me, so I think I’m glad it’s not a brush tip or I’d probably buy it.

  • Sara

I’m having a love affair with my felt tipped Stila eye liners. I got black as an Easter gift (gateway drug from my mother, hehe) and I went out and bought moss green too. Now I want brown to go with them…nevertheless, they are AWESOME! I wore it with my makeup for the wedding I was a bridesmaid in this weekend and put it on another girl, it looks fabulous! Such a perfect, precise line that even I can’t screw up with a slight hint of cat eye.

  • niche

I love felt tip liquid liners. I use it like its a pen/sharpie. It is so much easier for me. This looks lice a nice black.

  • Sabrina

sloppy??? have you seen me try? it goes everywhere….
    it look great 😀

    • the Muse

lol same here sabrina same here ;-D aw thanks you’re too kind!

  • Sara

Who told you you suck at it! I think you did a pretty good job, you look good with it!

  • dark nyx

Don’t hate me but…wielding the liquid liner wand has become second nature to me (think using it everyday for…omg, god knows how long, two years now?). But the trick might have been in how I started off. Tsubasa (creator of Dolly Wink) uses a pencil liner then traces it over with the liquid. This is probably what trained me to use liquid by itself eventually. Give it a try! I admit though, I am only skilled with brush-tip/felt tips (ie. K-Palette, Rose of Versailles, Eyeko) with a preference for the brush. I dread err…hate UD type brushes. Anywho, seeing the gorgeous inky black swatch of the Dior liner is enough to convince me. Do you know if they are LE? I like the how you paired the look with the reddish lips, very cute!

    • the Muse

i hate you 🙂 lol seriously so envious of anyone that can do liquid liner like a pro 😀 I actually used to do this with eyeshadow…I’d line with felt or liquid and I’d reline with black eyeshadow to fill in any gaps ;-D but still if I try without the powder I suck 😀 Oh you mean the floppy brushes right? those are damn hard to use. I don’t believe so, I think it’ll be a part of the general catalog! 🙂 aw thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ruth

all you need is a saucy wink! I dunno who told you that you suck with liquid liner because it looks great. I have a love affair with liquid liners since the pencils seem to migrate all over my face like lines on a map; liquid stays put! I’ve been using stila for years but may have to try this out when those dry up.

    • the Muse

insert saucy wink here! ;-D I always feel TOO made up when I have it on 😀 wish I could live liquid liners girl but they just don’t agree with me 😀

  • Nat

DAAAAAAAMN Muse, look at you! “Hello, I am teh Muse and I have huge, sparkly, gorgeous eyes and bangin’ lashes!” 😀

    • the Muse

lol i love you nat ;-D this looks awful but you still manage to make me believe it looks great <3! 😀

  • Nat

LOL you dork – obviously it looks good, there’s a loooot of compliments on this page 🙂

    • the Muse

aw thanks nat I always feel over done when I wear black eyeliner truly ;-D

  • Krystle

Muse you look so gorgeous with eyeliner on! I love liners like this, Revlon has a great one as well

    • the Muse

aw thanks hun! I’m always a little meh on eyeliners like this! which one?!

  • Ruth

you are crazy cause it looks so good! all you need now is a serious red lip and all the boys and girls would bow down and make a path to where ever the Muse wishes to walk.

    • the Muse

lol ruth <3! ps did you see the pink superman chucks? girl's size but we can still buy! 😀

  • Cindy Ramirez

Wowy! You really should wear eyeliner like that more often, you have such big doe like brown eyes!

My only fear investing in something like this is how long it takes to dry out. I pretty much wear a cat eye everyday and I use the revlon colorstay felt tip pen thing. I have to buy a new one every 2-3 months, they dry out so quick!

  • Ruth

They’re really cute but the biggest size they have right now is a 3. did they have bigger sizes and I missed it?

  • Ruth

if they did, we missed it =( I didn’t tell you, my friends made one of DIY designs for my b-day and they should be here in a couple of weeks. this is my first pair of DIY, soooo excited! they’re plaid on the inside where the star is, purple on the outside and graffiti on the stripe and the inside tongue. Since I’m a 90’s kid, loving the plaid and purple is my fav color.

  • Zaynab

Hope you are doing well. Do you by any chance have another blog spot ? I swear i could have seen some of your work in another inactive blog spot and the looks were stunning. Well at least it looked like your work.

    • the Muse

nope, this is my site, musingsofamuse.com it’s probably someone that stole my content and pictures.
