Etude House Dear Girls Lip Balm Review & Swatches

Etude House Dear Girls Lip Balm Spring 2013

Etude House recently introduced a Dear Girls Collection which includes a new Dear Girls Lip Balm. Etude House Dears Girls Lip Balm, as cute as it is, is simply a repackaged version of Etude House’s Lip Perfume which I absolutely adore.

Off topic of the lip balm but I’m very EAGER to get my tube of Etude House Dear Girls Be Clear Moisturizer which I had a friend pick up for me in Korea (I should have just got it from E-bay as it would have probably arrived faster, now I’m left antsy to try it!).

Anyway…I’ll save that for my review when it arrives right now let’s discuss Etude House Dear Girls Lip Balm!

Etude House Dear Girls Lip Balm

This comes in a tiny tin and is available in three flavors and formulas. Honestly, if you already own Lip Perfume you do not need to purchase Dear Girls Lip Balm as the formula is pretty much the same, the packaging is the only difference.

They formulated this in three different ways. One is a clear balm that’s supposedly packed with nutrients and recommended for extra dry skin. The version I have here is the Smooth and Moist formula which hydrates and retains moisture and finally twinkling version which give lips some sparkle with pink and white pearl pigments.

I imagine the tin packaging is off putting as it isn’t travel friendly and not terribly appealing in regards to finger application. If you can get past this you’ll find that the balm is a gorgeous affair. This is a thickly texture emollient lip balm that resembles a glossier version of vaseline. Although thick it wears very comfortably and give lips a SUPER shiny/glossy finish with a tasty grapefruit flavor. It’s transparent so it works fantastic as an overcoat on top of lipsticks and stains to add not only gloss but moisture as well. On its own it keeps my drier lips soft and smooth during the wear and well after it.

I must admit I absolutely adore Asian style balms like this. They are SO glossy gorgeous on lips and provide great moisture.

I’m a big fan of Lip Perfume so this was a welcome addition to my stash.

Do try it, I bet you’ll love it.

Available from E-bay seller F2Plus1 for $6.90 (not affiliated).

You should probably do close up shots for lip products (in addition to the full face) because I don’t think it does the products justice. It’s really hard to see how it exactly looks with the camera so far and at an angle.

But the product seems really good! I’ll have to look into it (: thanks

Wow! U have pretty pink lips of your own cuz that balm goes on clear. Are you going to review anymore dear girl staff?

I must say that the thing that attracts me to Etude House the most is their adorable packaging.

Hey Musey- Do u remember awhile back I found a review on Makeup Alley on the Bobbi Brown bb cream that I originally thought may be written by you, but it turned out someone else had just copied ur review word for word & left it as their own? Well I found another one! I was reading through the reviews for the Clinique CC Cream on Makeup Alley, and unless you’re nattiekins05, another creeper stole ur review! I was reading it like, “hmmm this sounds mighty familiar!” hahaha! It’s the 9th review down on the 1st page of reviews for Clinique CC Cream (in the foundations category) if u wanna take a look at it. This person is a Top Reviewer too, so God knows how many of ur other reviews they stole LOL. People are pathetic. And creepy!

thanks chrisiti! I contacted her and she said she’d remove…so odd when people randomly steal entire reviews…! 🙂
