Hada Labo BB Moist Cream Review & Swatches

Hada Labo BB Moist Cream

Hada Labo BB Moist Cream is a gel foundation that contains Hyaluronic Acid which makes it an ideal pick for drier skin. It deserves to be mentioned I have a love/hate relationship with this product and I can’t rightfully say why that is. All in all the formula is rather nice but I think the “BB” in the title automatically makes me associate it with a BB Cream and that it isn’t.

Let’s take a look!

Hada Labo BB Moist Cream has an SPF 32 and is available in two shades. The shade I have here, Natural Ochre is actually a little too dark for my skin tone but considering it is so sheer I have no real problems wearing it. It should be suitable for darker tones in the NC30-40 range but I’m not an expert at MAC foundations so take that with a grain of salt.

This has an absolutely love texture with a lightweight gel consistency. It isn’t watery or runny but has a gel-like texture that absorbs easily, provides moisture, and sinks into skin beautifully. A small amount is plenty to evening out already good skin. Imperfections such as darkness, blemishes, etc…won’t really be concealed by this formula since it lacks pigment however, if you already have fairly good skin it will perfect that for you!

It dries down to a dewy to the touch finish that provides lasting moisture throughout the day without being too heavy or greasy. If you have drier skin you’ll love how this aids in retaining hydration and providing it. The virtually weightless formula is ideal for Summer and humid or hot days when you want near naked skin. It contains no fragrance so those with sensitivities to scented products will be right at home.

It’s funny how I both like and dislike this product. I think the BB aspect really threw me for a curve so originally trying it I was terribly disappointed it wasn’t like a true BB Cream formula. However, it isn’t marketed as such so I shouldn’t have been so upset. In the end, I came to terms with the fact that the “BB” didn’t factor into the formula and it was a lovely product none the less.

Drier skin will adore this for Summer and I highly recommend it for just that. If you already have fairly good skin that needs perfecting and a bit more moisture I recommend this!

Good stuff!

I got mine from a friend who lives in Japan when it originally released but you can grab it from any number of retailers online including Adambeauty.com (not affiliated).

I purchased this item.

This reminds me, I tried that Biore BB “cream” and I am wondering if it is even one at all and maybe just a base? It does say base on it after all. It is so very sheer though, like a lotion. I’m wearing it under my proper BB cream now.

Muse, thanks for this! This is one of my BB cream “candidates” so I was hoping you’d review this product. I’ve been very pleased with their hyaluronic acid skincare stuff because they’re very simple non-irritating formulations that can easily be added to existing routines to boost moisture. I thought maybe this cream will play well with the skincare. But I want more SPF so if I use this I will have to layer it with another sunscreen, and that goes against my goal of simplifying. Hmmm gotta think on this.

This looks awesome, I haven’t tried anything by Hada Labo yet, although I do love me some Asian brands! Loving all the more Asian reviews as of late! Keep ’em comin!

Hi, Muse! I just wanted to let you know (if you didn’t already) that Ulta is now carrying some Hada Labo products. I’m not sure if it’s sold at any other US retailers so I thought it was interesting when I noticed the products in the back room at work. It’s available on the site too. And you’ll be able to use the $3.50 off coupon on it. No BB creams though.

Just found your review, this bb cream/ gel foundation has been an HG of mine for a while now! 🙂 It’s one of the few base products that feels comfortable and doesn’t break me out on my super sensitive, combination acne-prone skin (yup..it’s as terrible as it sounds). I’m actually surprised you went with the second shade, cause I’m using the first shade with the pink lettering and I’m around an nc25..I think..

In Brunei we have the Hada Labo Air BB cream and comes in 2 shades Pink and Beige. Mine has a similar color to yours in the photo above. It’s a good BB cream, with 10-in-1 function (as it says on the tube) and SPF50/PA+++. Good for drier skins.
