Josie Maran Argan Glow Self Tanning Body Wash 4

The body wash acts as a self tanner that gives skin a gradual, natural looking, long lasting tan. It’s a foaming formula that has a lovely citrus-like scent with a formula that’s infused with soothing aloe vera, natural DHA, and Josie’s own 10% Argan Oil for a moisturizing experience.

To use it follow the steps below:

  • Turn off your shower and dispense one pump of the foam directly onto the applicator/shower poof. Using a single pump of the foam for each part of your body…one leg, torso, each arm, etc…
  • Now use a swift, circular motion to apply the foam onto your wet, clean skin. Color develops instantly so be sure to blend out well as you wash.
  • Allow 30 seconds for color to penetrate and proceed to rinse off the foam. It may make a bit of a mess at first but it rinses away quickly.
  • If you have any streaky or uneven areas apply more foam to the bare spots or use the wet poof without foam to blend out those areas.
  • Apply body moisturizer after drying off.
  • Your tan will deepen throughout the day as the color develops. Use it daily to build your tan up to the desired color.

I have had mine for about two weeks now but have yet to try it out. Partly due to fear of a mess and partly due to the fact that it has not been that warm in Virginia.

I’m a little scared of it. I haven’t tried it yet but I squirted a little out and man was it dark so I got really worried to test it. I’m not a bronzer fan anyway though!

    • the Muse

I haven’t tried it in my shower diane, it claims it rinses away but I can’t say for sure as I haven’t tested it in my own shower.

Guerlain makes a similar item but it’s a scrub. ‘Terracotta Sun Scrub’ Tan Enhancing Scrub

I am interested in the ‘natural DHA’ ingredient. I am allergic to DHA, therefore no self-tanning for me, but maybe the natural DHA will not cause an allergic reaction?

I almost bought this. It sounds so great. But I read the early reviews on the Q and they were not so hot. Seems most peeps aren’t getting any color out of this. Too bad, it’s a novel idea. But I saved myself some moola.

I have to say I’m a bit disappointed. I saw your header “Notions and Potions from a Beauty Junkie” and I read it as “Notions and Poutines…” I guess I know where my head is at today: cheese fries with gravy.

there is a def a learning curve to this..after playing with it a few times im finally getting the hang of it..the color looks dark but once you rinse the applicator color off it actually looks very natural. i also find it moisturizes my skin nicely. that being said, application is a pain and i get cold since my body is wet from shower but water is off while applying. i prefer regular self tanners. if josie made this exact product but it can be used on dry skin like a normal self tanner and not need to be rinsed right away, i’d love it!

I HAD to order this!! I love Josie Maran products and it is just so innovative that I had to get my hands on it. Can’t wait for it to come in!! Seems weird to apply it with a loofah though?? Curious..

    • the Muse

NOT a good idea sharon. This is a body wash, def don’t use it on your face.

  • Sharon

Thank you so much. First person that had an answer for me . Are you getting good reviews on this product

    • the Muse

Hi again Sharon! my pleasure! I haven’t heard back from many people about it yet to be honest. I had plans to test it but to be honest I am not much of a bronzer girl so haven’t yet given it a whirl! If I do I’ll update 😀

I just received my body in the mail a couple of days a ago and I have tried it yesterday and today and I have to say I really love it. No streaks, no orange color, it looks like I have a natural looking tan plus I used it on my face and my face looks really good. I use the gloves. I would recommend this product to others, and would also buy it again.

  • Jaimey

Sharon, YES you can use this product on your face. The company repeatedly states this, although customer reviews suggest application with the gloves and a mirror to ensure an even application.

  • Maureen

I just tried this product today – First, the pros: It definitely does give great color that looks very natural as opposed to some other products that have a coppery undertone to them. It also is very moisturizing and does not leave behind a funky “self tanning” smell. Now, unfortunately, the cons: If you are not careful with the application, you’re going to get streaks. I happen to have one on my upper arm that just looks like dirt and nothing I do will take it off so I suppose I’ll be wearing longer sleeves to hide it until it fades. Also, when you’re standing in the shower, the product stains the bottoms of your feet so be prepared for them to look dirty as well. Not sure how you can avert this since you’re in the shower while applying it! Finally, the loofah brush is kind of awkward to use – the handle is very long and even when you hold it closer to the base it’s still a tedious instrument. I will continue to use this product to see if I can get better at it, but I’m hoping I don’t get any further unsightly streaks. I also need to try to figure out how to stop it from staining the bottoms of my feet!

  • RubyQ

If you can coat the bottoms of your feet with Vaseline (without slipping in the shower), it won’t stain them brown.
