Lavshuca Candy Pop Eye Base Review & Swatches
Lavshuca recently introduced a range of eyeshadow singles entitled Candy Pop. Along with this release Lavshuca Eye Base Primer makes an appearance in two different shades (pink and beige) which I decided I might as well try out.
I really don’t need another base at the moment but the cute pink tin was partially responsible for my spontaneous purchase, come on, cut me a break, you know I can’t resist cute packaging.
Sigh.
If you already own KATE Eyeshadow Base Primer you probably don’t need the Lavshuca Eye Base however, I will say that it actually seemed to perform a little better than the KATE formula. Of course, I might be just imaging that as KATE and Lavshuca are sister brands created by the same parent company, Kanebo.
Take a peek!
If you read Musings of a Muse you know I shout from the roof tops the great love I have for Benefit Lemon Aid. I think Lavshuca Eye Base is a similiar product but in a far friendlier color.
Granted, this is meant to be used as a base for your eyeshadow, loose pigments, etc…to keep them in place all day without creasing or fading. And sure it works great as such.
However, I also love it because it is the perfect creamy beige shade for brightening up the area around my lid and giving my eyes a wide awake, fresh appearance. Whoever said you can go without concealing your lids as well as under your eyes is telling you LIES! I’ve always paid special attention to not only concealing under my eyes but above them as well. Particularly when I’m going out without eyeshadow on. A little swipe of this across my lids (or Lemon Aid) will brighten things up considerably! It’s also a great way to hide redness or smaller veins that show through on your lid if you have fairer skin.
The texture is a thinner consistency cream that applies easily and blends out with very minimal effort so no tugging is involved to get it into place. It’s also hydrating enough to move around and blend out but still dries down to a semi-matte finish that acts as a base for shadows.
It will intensify the look of powder shadows and pigments should you have a more subtle color you wish to amp up. It also has less of a slippery texture than the KATE version which allows it to remain crease-free throughout the day giving your shadows an excellent place to lay their weary head through their wear. It keeps shades not only crease-free but also quite vibrant!
Overall, it’s an excellent little base that will lock shadows into place but also works happily on its own for a natural eye look and the perfect way to conceal issues and brighten up tired looking eyes.
Do love!
