L’Oreal Cherie Merie Infallible Eyeshadow Review & Swatches
Cherie Merie is one of four new limited edition L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow shades launched with the Miss Candy Collection. This isn’t a new shade for some of you as you might have already gotten your hands on it in Canada under the name Pepsi Coral or in the UK as Magnetic Coral.
But I am happy to report that it is quite different from Magnetic Coral if you own that shade already. I can’t speak for Pepsi Coral though as I do not have it.
I personally adore corals as you know and this shade is no exception to the rule plus the formula is absolute perfection compared to other Infallible shades.
Take a peek!
As much as I love L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow I will admit it is irritating to work with at times. Fall out, lots of shimmer, a little too much frost, etc…all make for a woe of a formula to work with at times.
I have to say if they made more shades like Cherie Merie I’d be a happy girl. This is a smooth, satiny creamy texture. This doesn’t have as much frost as other shades do, not as much shimmer, and not the metallic finish I’ve come to associate with the formula. I think if you own and used these shadows you know exactly what I mean.
Cherie Merie improves on the entire formulation! It’s just so smooth and doesn’t have the flakiness of the original formula. It applies and blends easily and feels almost like a cream to powder texture.
Of course, I should really discuss how stunning the shade is. What an excellent shade to release now as the warmer weather is upon us! This is a bright, vibrant coral with a touch of tangerine to it. It’s a little difficult to use as an all over eye color but pair it up with a little brown, cranberry, or even gold to create a beautiful sunset eye look. Below I used it all over my lid and than I took a little Milani Espresso Line Shadow Eyez and blended it with my finger into this crease and BAM instant smoky coral look for brown eyes.

Needless to say this is a must have shade. The color is stunning but it really is the formula that deserves the rave here. I hope L’Oreal will do more shades like this in the future.

P.S. I’m tempted to use this as a blush!
