L’Oreal Miss Candy Colour Riche Le Gloss Review & Swatches

L'Oreal Miss Candy Colour Riche Le Gloss

L’Oreal has four new, limited edition Colour Riche Le Gloss Lipglosses that released with their new Miss Candy Collection for Summer. I’m a HUGE fan of Le Gloss so of course, I hauled a few of them.

They actually have two unusual colors that might interest a few folks in a mint green and purple. I personally skipped them. Even if they are sheerer these colors probably would look evil dead like on my lips so I ended up going the safer route in my selections.

Take a peek!

I picked up Orange Dreamsicle and Princess Lolly both of which look very similiar to shades I already owned. However, a brief search through my stash didn’t reveal any dupes. Dunno why but both seem like shades I’ve seen/tried before.

I’d grab them on sale but wouldn’t pay full price for them as I think they were $7.49 each at Walgreens. Way too high for a gloss with very little pigment in my opinion. I’m not saying they aren’t worth a pick up because they are, I love the Le Gloss formula, but do it on sale if possible.

Princess Lolly and Dreamsicle

These have a little bit of a different texture compared to the standard line in my opinion. They have more of a jelly-like texture with a ton of glossiness and shine. They are sheer but they still manage to give lips a little hint of color. Like Orange Dreamsicle you can see a little tint of orange to it once and applied and Princess Lolly give lips a reddish tint. These typically last about two hours on my lips before I need a touch up. They have a vanilla sorta cupcake flavor and fragrance? I can’t put my finger on it but that’s the taste I get from them.

I think Le Gloss has always been a hit with me because of the lighter texture yet fuller color pay off they offered. These two shades follow a similiar path but fail in the pigment department and have a sheerer color pay off. That’s not a bad thing in my opinion as I already have plenty of pigmented Le Glosses to choose from so a few sheer in the mix is a welcome addition to my collection for Summer.

I got mine at Walgreens.

Anyone try ’em?

I’m totally going to hunt for the mint green one if the gloss is that sheer. I have one Le Gloss from the 2nd Project Runway collaboration and I kinda like the formula.

Hi Muse, thanks for the review! Would you say these are glossier/shinier than the original Le Gloss, or about the same level of shine? 🙂

    • the Muse

no actually glossier….they just seem like a different gloss totally…less pigment, more shiny, jelly-like texture…not really like the originals at all!

Sounds good, I love it when glosses pack a good amount of shine. 🙂 Thanks!

UGH when I saw Princess Lolly, I squealed and said that I had to have it (my nickname is Lolly to my family), but I resisted because I know I have a gloss that is similar, and now that I see how it actually looks and it’s nothing like the one I have, I can indulge!! SO EXCITED TO HAVE A LIPGLOSS NAMED AFTER ME!..sorta XD

LOL lauren you’re adorable ;-D I shall call you lolly from now on ;D

Love the le gloss formula so of course I greedily snatched all four of these up. L’Oreal has had some great gloss formulas over the years. Remember Rouge Pulp?

  • Laura

I got the purple one! Lol I never tried these but I thought I could try and make nicki 2 more wearable with it bc I hate mac gloss.. I haven’t tried it yet, so I can’t really comment on the color.. Just looked so weirdly cool in thd tube!

Hey Laura, let me know how the color is please? I’m loving purple right now Am trying to hunt this down now. Was wondering how sheer it is? Thanks

Hello Muse….long time since I’ve greeted you. I hope you are well. I was so excited to see the title of these because, I thought they were the same one’s released in the U.K. last summer. My daughter is bringing me my Miss Candy Glam Shines that I purchased last summer. They are the smaller lip shines with shimmer twirls that have the wand applicators. They are no longer available in the US. I bought all the shades at Feelunique.com They appear to be more pastel than these shades. However, the name is the same as the Le Gloss. I will buy these also, because they look so pretty on you. 🙂

hi libia good to hear from you! I remember those…! I was going to order them myself but ended up not doing so because I was scared they’d be too light for my lips 😀 aw thanks! they are really nice shades for summer ;D

I have the lavender color – it’s called Short Shorts. Doesn’t look purply or lavender on my lips. My lips have a natural pinkish color, so this blends very well. The smell is amazing, and it’s not gooey at all. Love your site!
