NARS Puerto Vallarta Multiple Review & Swatches

NARS Puerto Vallarta the Multiple

NARS The Multiple in Puerto Vallarta is a newly launched, limited edition shade for Summer 2013. I love theory of this shade as it’s a subtle shimmering tangerine but like orange lipstick it’s a trend I can’t really pull off.

Take a look!

NARS Puerto Vallarta Multiple ($39) is a subtle shade of tangerine with a soft golden shimmer. The shade does apply sheer but you can built it up for better color payoff easily and it should work on an array of skin tones with warmer undertones.

NARS Puerto Vallarta Multiple Swatches

The Multiple formula was created to use on eyes. lips, and cheeks. The formula for me creases rather badly on eyes but I can’t deny it looks hecka cool as an eyeshadow. On lips it has a rather chalky finish that’s dry so typically I avoid using them on my lips. On cheeks is where it works the best and is easiest to apply however, my skin seems to suck color up so the Multiple formula always has a really short wear time for me with around an hour or two before color fades away. The creamy texture blends easily onto skin and takes very little effort to get on correctly. If you apply powder blush on top you’ll find it wears longer but does defeat the purpose of the product.

The color is stunning and quite unusual but unfortunately doesn’t work with my medium fair skin tone. It kinda makes me look a little tired and less than flawless. I think it’ll pop on a warmer skin tone though!

NARS Puerto Vallarta is unusual and unique shade and well worth a pick up if you like the Multiple formula. It’ll be a beautiful pick for Summer looks!

If that’s what you have on your eyes in the pic – it’s the bomb. Really pretty. I have a few multiples and while I really want to love them I just don’t. I get all excited and wrapped up in the hype only to be slightly disappointed when the color doesn’t last.

Sometimes I think I’m one of those people who has to work harder to make the “slap ’em on and go” products work. LOL For instance, if I use my regular eye primer (SB, UD, LORAC) and slap on a single powder shadow it takes me 2 seconds and looks good all day. I tried a waterproof cream shadow that is supposed to be the greatest and my eye lid ate the product in 2 hours? I had to reapply when I got to work. And the problem isn’t that all the color comes off – only just a little bit and then I look splotchy. yuk…
