Sephora 8 HR Mattifying Moisturizer Review & Swatches
Sephora 8 HR Mattifying Moisturizer SunScreen SPF 20 ($22) arrives at just the right time as my skin is starting to go a little combo. Although I have drier skin when the weather warms up my forehead starts to shine like a bright star and I get a fair bit of oily around my t-zone.
I decided now was a good time to try this because we’re SLOWLY seeing some good weather here in New York. Hell yesterday it was a whooping 90!
Let’s take a look!
This oil free moisturizer promises to keep shine at bay for eight hours. Supposedly it contains Sephora’s own Hydrosenn+ which is a moisturizing agent that’s equivalent to hyaluronic acid. According to Sephora Hydrosenn is even more moisturizing than hyaluronic acid and allows your skin to retain water while offering intense hydration.
Have to say, this isn’t moisturizing by drier skin standards. It provides adequate moisture for combo or oily skin but if you’re dry chances are it won’t be enough. That’s fine though, since this isn’t meant for such a skin type anyway. The texture is quite thick yet absorbs easily and seems to mattify on contact with my shinier areas and yes, in fact, it keeps my shine at bay for OVER eight hours.
The SPF is weak at 20 but promises to offer broad spectrum protection from both UVA/UVB rays.
I think it’ll prove an excellent pick for those with combination skin but I’m unsure how well it’ll perform on super oily skin as that always needs special care and attention. It might be worth a try though….!
As for me, it’s the ideal pick for keeping my shiny areas oil-free in the warmer months.
