Shiseido Maquillage Essence Glamorous Rouge Review & Swatches

Shiseido Maquillage Essence Glamorous Rouge Spring 2013 Shades

Shiseido Maquillage Essence Glamorous Rouge is available in a few new shades for Spring 2013 so I quickly snatched up one (even though I was tempted to get them all).

Maquillage is one of the sub-brands that’s part of Shiseido in Japan. Such a shame its never made its way to the US.

The appealing aspect of Essence Glamorous Rouge was the colors were inspired by natural lip colors and tone so it gives you that “your lips but better” finish.

Take a look!

One of the four new shades I purchased was RD396. RD is a little misleading as I assumed it would be berry or red based but actually it is more of a peachy beige. That’s quite alright by me as the color is truly gorgeous and very natural! The color is comparable to something you’d see Kim K sporting as its that nude, natural lip look she favors.

I said it before and I’ll say it again Maquillage did an incredible job with these glosses!

The gloss comes in a diamond shaped tube which is quite pretty yet practical enough to travel with you. It has a softer larger flexible sponge applicator that fits the contour of my lips comfortably. The sponge saturates very well with product and a single dip is enough to do your entire lip look.

The formula is moisturizing yet lightweight without any stickiness or tackiness. It wears a solid four to five hours without migrating or drying out and color stays true through that wear. It has a shiny finish and give lips a soft cushion-y appearance

I wish I could afford to own every single shade as I love what they do for my lips, the colors are all so natural and pretty (they are a little pricey when purchased off sale at around $30 each at a variety of online shops, OUCH!)!

Shiseido Maquillage Essence Glamorous Rouge is available for purchase at Adambeauty.com (not affilated) and very Muse Approved for purchase.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. These Maquillage glosses are gorgeous! I had a Shiseido one a loooong time ago that was either the predecessor to this line or was in a different packaging – long slim tube in a square shape? It was my favorite formula ever and I was so sad when I ran out. I love these Asian beauty reviews, Muse, keep em coming!

Hmm, possible by Integrate? I just remember the formula being smooth, shiny, and really light because I am not a huge fan of sticky lipglosses. NO WAY – people don’t like the Asian beauty reviews? They must not be very cosmopolitan. Anyone worth their beauty chops knows that HUGE makeup and skincare trends often start overseas and migrate from these super lucrative global markets in Asia (and Africa – hello, shea butter? and the Middle East, and in so many other places in the world) and eventually find their way to the US/North America. How many requests do you get now for “can you help me find the right BB cream for me?” folks who just need to look up your treasure trove of Asian beauty reviews? The world is an interconnected place nowadays, and if people don’t recognize how that affects their passion for beauty, then they must live in a very small world!
