Victoria’s Secret Lemon Escape Review

Victorias Secret Lemon Escape

Bath & Body Works Hello Sugar is back in the form of Victoria’s Secret Sparkling Citrus Lemon Escape!

If you’re old school you probably remember Hello Sugar from Bath & Body Works. It was the shortest launch ever! Seriously, one week they had it and the next it was gone, disappeared, and forever mourned by me. It was a beautiful sugary lemon cakey scent…Just delicious and possibly one of thee most unique fragrances I’ve ever seen Bath & Body Works introduce.

When Victoria’s Secrets recently came out with their new Sparkling Citrus Collection and was quite excited because I really enjoy citrus-y scents especially ones that contain lemon.

Imagine my delight when I discovered Lemon Escape was ALMOST a dupe for Hello Sugar.

This is a lemon sugar and coconut blend that’s available for a limited time so do stock up while you have the chance. I wouldn’t say it was an exact dupe of Hello Sugar but it comes very, very, very close…I think it lacks some of the cake elements I got from Hello Sugar but aside from that the notes are very similiar.

This is a delicious scent that starts out with a tart lemon sugar but not the lemon sugar scent that Fresh offers. This has more of a foody element due to creamy coconut and what apparently smells like a hint of white cake or vanilla cake of some sort (but not nearly as cakey as Hello Sugar).

It’s fruity but also has a mellow, creaminess provided by the coconut so the scent has some fruitiness and some sweetness and touches of coconut cake!

I adore this.

And I know you will too!

Considering B&BW & VS are both owned by the same parent-company, it doesn’t surprise me. I’m not a huge fan of citrusy scents (unless it’s bergamot), but I might give this a sniff the next time I’m at the mall.

That’s it! Thanks for saying this smells like Hello Sugar. When I bought this a few weeks ago all I kept thinking is this smells so familiar, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. It was driving me insane. I kept thinking it smells like something I smelled from Bath and Body Works in the past and yet I still couldn’t think of the name. Mystery solved :).

I stepped away from BBW for a few years and missed out on Hello Sugar so Lemon Escape sounds pretty new and amazing to me. I love foody scents, I love lemon, and I love coconut so this is perfect. Thanks for the heads up. I don’t usually step into VS but for this I will :)

I’ll have to give this a sniff! BBW body scents have become very chemical-y to me in the past few years.
I really miss the Ile de Tahiti/Passport Tahiti line from a few years back. I am not usually a big vanila fan, but the Coconut- Vanille was a huge favorite and I still have a little stashed away. Oddly enough, this scent sells in some cases for a hundred dollars on eBay!

I can not express how much I love this stuff! I have the cologne, body scrub, body butter, and body cream. Holy-moly, I’m addicted, and I have to buy more before it disappears. Everyone comments on how good I smell when I wear it.

YES! I was just as excited when I first got a whiff of Lemon Escape–I still have the BBW ‘Tutti Dolci’ eau de cologne bottle with about 25% left. I remember loving it so much and rushing to BBW when they had their post-holiday sale…only to find the entire line gone. I think the BBW called the scent ‘Lemon Meringue’. I just (sadly) threw out an unopened bottle of lotion in this scent when I did spring cleaning because I realized it’s at least six years old. This is probably going to happen again with Lemon Escape since VS is having a 7 for $35 sale, and I just, um, stocked up.

Thank you for your review! I saw this in the store the other day and fell IN LOVE!! How long does the Eau De Toilette scent last? I’m worried the smell will be gone after an hour or so.

really would depend on your body chemistry bethany, on me it lasts about four hours.

I just found this fragrance yesterday! In love! I only bought one bottle in the store because I wanted to be sure it wore well before getting too much. It smells better as the day goes on! And the body mist lasts a long time on my skin. I was a big fan of the B&BW lemon vanilla and was disappointed when they discontinued it! However, this scent is so much better to me. It reminds me a LOT of a scent that Fresh used to make…chocolate orange I think. So good, but fresh never lasted on my skin and was way more expensive. Amazing find! Now to see if the eau de toilette is any better or different from the body spray…
