Avon Ideal Flawless BB Beauty Balm Cream Review & Swatches
Avon joins Team BB Cream with their new Ideal Flawless BB Beauty Balm Cream ($10) and puts the budget in BB Cream with its sweet little price tag.
We’re plenty used to Korean brands offering the best and most brilliant BB Cream formulas for so much less but when it comes to cheaper BB Creams here in the US, well, the market is a little lacking. So when I run across one for $10 bucks I’m all over that as hey, this might be the one to thrill me!
Take a look!
Avon Ideal Flawless BB Beauty Balm Cream promises a 10 in 1 formula that contains minerals, antioxidants, and vitamin E plus SPF 15 to keep skin happy and healthy. Although that SPF is sorely low for my tastes….! Meh!
This promises to hydrate, even skin tone, reduce redness, conceal flaws, and smooth skin. According to Avon your skin will look even better AFTER the BB Cream is removed. Ha, fancy that? I’ve been using it near three weeks and I can’t say my skin is looking anymore or better after use to be honest but I’d love it if with continued use that I might actually see some goodness!
As a BB Cream this is disappointingly sheer and lower SPF, well, all that adds up to not such a fab BB Cream formula. As a tinted moisturizer…well, it’s ace however, it has one quirk I’ll explain shortly.
Light Medium
This is a gel-like formula with a creamy texture that has sheerer coverage. Although sheer there’s enough pigment here to perfect and conceal minor problems such as redness or darkness, and just generally create a more even, flawless finish on skin. I actually like the formula a lot as it brightens my skin up, eases my dullness, and provides lightweight, even coverage so my face looks, feels, and appears more flawless.
On the downside the wear time is a bit iffy. Since it is so hydrating I can happily skip moisturizer prior to use (or at least in the warmer weather I can). It absorbs fairly easily into skin and hydrates just enough leaving behind a semi-dewy finish that keeps skin feeling supple through the wear. On the down side that hydrating factor actually means it fades faster. I also feel like it has a knack for creating oil and making my face shiny after about an hour to two hours after application.
Typically my skin goes more combo in the warmer weather so I see a little bit oil and I’m drier around certain areas of my face. I think this might be more suitable for cooler weather as my skin is drier than and this might not produce as much oil in the cooler weather.
Overall, it makes for a very nice tinted moisturizer, actually, if you wanna be technical on some levels it is even nicer than a tinted moisturizer. Not factoring in the oil and shorter wear time this would actually be a great formula however, those two issues could create a host of problems for folks that want their makeup to stick around long and not make them shiny. Perhaps the Winter will prove a better time of the year for Avon Ideal Flawless BB Beauty Balm Cream.
Is it worth trying?
Sure!
If you’re skin is super dry! However, if you’re more of an oily or combination skin type best wait until the cold weather sets in for a try out.
