Fresh Sugar Shine Lip Treatment Summer 2013

I hate to crush your dreams but the new Fresh Sugar Shine Lip Treatment is disappointing. Being a lover of Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment I was, of course, excited about their new Sugar Shine Lip Treatment. I mean it would be incredible to have the benefits of the lip treatment but in more of a lipgloss formula ya know? A little something different…

But…

Fresh Sugar Shine Lip Treatment

Fresh Sugar Shine Lip Treatment ($18.50) is kinda a glorified lipgloss really. This promises a high shine with a formula that moisturizers and makes lips soft and supple. According to the Fresh it’ll preserve the moisture of lips up to six hours.

I wore it from Friday of last week all through the week up until today to test it out and honestly, in that time I can’t say my lips had much of a change. So maybe I need to use it for a few months to see results.

I will say in that time I only experienced the joys of using a regular and uneventful lipgloss. This is a pale milky pink with a hint of golden shimmer. It applies transparent on lips and provides some shine with a slightly tacky finish on my mouth. It has some shine but not a ton with a medium texture that isn’t too thick nor too thin. It has a faint lemon sugar flavor that isn’t as powerful as you taste with the regular Lip Treatment Balms.

It wears nice enough but proves boring really…I wouldn’t mind so much if I actually felt it was treating drier lips. My lips felt soft enough wearing it but I didn’t feel like it was major moisturizing or adding any extra hydration that my lips didn’t already have.

Meh….

Honestly, I’m hearing some great raves for this and perhaps I’m just a shy to nit picky but in the end this just seemed like a mediocre gloss product.

Skip it.

There are far too many glosses to choose from which offer shine, color, and hydration.

But if you are curious it’s available now at Sephora and Sephora.com

Tried it?

I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I was so disappointed with this. You could get a better item at the drugstore. I expected so much more from fresh. Definitely never buying again.

Have you tried the new Korres Greek Yogurt rollerball gloss? I would love so much to see a review from you Muse!

I gasped out loud when I read that it’s no bueno. I’m in love with the regular lip treatment and a lipgloss hoarder, this sounded like a dream come true! Sad, sad, sad.

it just seems like a regular old gloss becky 🙁 sorry to disappoint le sigh!

Funny… I absolutely LOVE it. I’ve worn nothing but the sugar lip balms for the last 3 years and this gloss was a welcome addition to my collection. I’m turned off by lip glosses because they’re so damn sticky and tacky. I love that this one is NOT. I can admit that it’s not necessarily special: it’s just clear and its wear isn’t so lasting; it needs reapplication, but it’s the only gloss I’ll happily apply over and over again. After even my clinique gloss wears off, all I want is plain old lip balm. In short, I’m a fan!! And it doesn’t melt in my car! Big bonus!!
