How Lush Turned Into E.L.F. Cosmetics

Hmm taking lessons from E.L.F. Cosmetics, Lush?

I don’t want you hanging out with them anymore! Their bad habits are rubbing off on you. Now go to your room and think about what you did.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. If you’re that person feel free to reach out and leave a comment or follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin‘.

I got this too – hate it! makes me want to unsubscribe, Anyhow I’m off to close on my new home in Sin City this weekend so I’ll wish you happy hump-thurs-end 🙂 Ill lurk the recent reviews and sulk cuz of my no-buy,

  • Kari Smits

Right? If I miss you, I’ll shop. If you miss me, then give me a $25 gift card. Thank you.

      • Kari Smits

Coming from you, that means a lot! Thanks! I kinda hoped I would be the only one that would cater to those three things.

Sigh, it’s Lush’s quality control that has me turning away these days. My favorite brand has let me down too much! On the hunt for better bath products. 🙁

    • the Muse

really? anything in particular that disappointed you? curious minds!

      • Louise

I personally have a problem with all the parabens in Lush’s products. Argh! For that price, there shouldn’t be any, imho.

    • Ruth

Deb-I just ordered from Fortune Cookie Soap to try out their products. they got me because they have a bath bomb set to try, harry potter themed products and a sugar scrub called unicorn farts. how could you not want to try something called unicorn farts? =)

Yar… I can’t quit ELF because they have such decent stuff for dirt-cheap (and vegan)… but Lush is too expensive for me to put up with nagging!

  • Rebecca

Does anyone else get every Lush email twice? I usually get them 5 to 10 minutes apart, it’s so annoying!

    • the Muse

I get them twice too…I’ve tried unsubscribing but no luck :-/

The Body Shop is *the* worst! I’ve never even ordered online, but I keep getting emails saying “We miss you. I shop instore, so how can they “miss” me…?

    • the Muse

omg I don’t get those thank GOD lol! I’d jump off a bridge if I had to deal with the body shop too!

      • amy

They do send incentive/discount codes, and the deals are great, but I just don’t shop online, and I actually find it offensive to be *forced* to shop online in order to get these discounts.

  • Renee

HaaHaa, I now have my Hubby getting all the ELF emails.. I used his email a while back to get something or other free with my order from them. Yup, he just loves me for doing it! Lol!

      • Renee

i know.. He tells me all the time that ELF loves and misses him.. heehee!

        • the Muse

LOL! at least we have someone to love and miss us in the beauty world we should be thankful ;-D hahah!

  • Klo

Bare Escentuals does this too! 🙁

Note to self: Don’t subscribe to LUSH emails. However I do get their physical newsletter, which I LOVE. I read something new in there every time I pick it up.

    • Renee

oh, I get the “Lush Times” too. I do love reading thru it too, very intresting stuff.

  • koolchicken

Newman Marcus sends those. But at least they’ve had the decency to send me $50 gift cards (with no strings attached) to try to get me to shop.

  • Laura

Unfortunately, I think this is only going to become more and more common. I’m currently filling in as an email copywriter (AKA spammer”sorry, customers!) at my job, and we send out these type of emails like clockwork. They’re supposed to “reengage” the customer, but clickthrough rates are so low! I don’t know why we keep doing them. Desperation? *sigh*
