Introducing Dior Instant Gentle Cleansing Oil

Dior Instant Gentle Cleansing Oil

The new Dior Instant Gentle Cleansing Oil caught my eye at Sephora recently. I have to say I love the idea of Dior creating a cleansing oil and I wasn’t sure I’d love the price.

However, at $36 for 6.7 oz it isn’t nearly bad as I was thinking. I had visions of dropping $50 on cleansing oil from Dior so $36 came as a surprise. Shu’s version is 5 oz at $31 so not too shabby eh?

Dior Instant Gentle Cleansing Oil works on both and face and eyes and promises a formula suitable for all skin times. It contains Pure Lily Extract which helps inhibit skin inflammation.

I’m considering a purchase as soon as I finish up three of my current cleansing oils that I have to use up!

What do you think?

Curious?

It’s available now at Sephora.com

Hey, it’s also available as a freebie trial size from sephora with the code “DIORCLEAN”

the sephora email blurb I got about it says it’s made from “pure lilies” (as opposed to sullied lilies, I guess?)

It does sound interesting, tho, doesn’t it? And I’m as amazed as you at the price!! I thought it would be a minimum of $50 – $36 isn’t bad!

Sephora has a “complimentary mini” with code DIORCLEAN and $25 purchase. I love cleansing oils, and you’re right about the price on this one being in line with many other brands. I’m really tempted to give it a try.

I use DHC’s, I bought MAC’s one time, and didn’t like it as well. Then DHC came out with “Mild Touch”, and I was madly in love with it – I finally found my HG cleanser and was so happy. And then they discontinued it! Now they’re selling a “New” Mild Touch, and raised the price $10!. It’s $24 for 5oz. The ingredients are different too, so I don’t know if I will like it as much as the original Mild Touch, but I”ll probably try it when I run out of my current bottle. They also have a “Pore Cleansing Oil” that is $31 for 5oz, that I’d like to try.

Looking forward to your review if you decide to buy it!

I forgot to add that the DHC original Deep Cleansing Oil is $28 for 6.7oz, and dermstore.com now sells some of the DHC products and they have free shipping, plus a 10% discount with coupon code “reminder” (or you can add it to your “favorites” to get the discount).

I saw this today and I’m extremely interested in it! I’ve really been into cleansing oils lately and they seem to be treating my skin really well. I just don’t know if I need to spend that much money? Although, with so much product, I suppose it would last a looooong time. What do you think?

    • the Muse

i haven’t tried it yet amanda so don’t really have many thoughts yet 🙂

I’m agree with ya on the price. Its about right for a luxury cleansing product leaning towards mid range. I wonder if it smells of eau-de-charmin. I am thinking i might replace my e-tude one of the moment with missha but honestly dior is only a few bucks more so i might try it!

    • the Muse

i dislike the smell of the missha cleansing oil 🙁 you have issues with it?

  • Sara

Well, well, I am intrigued! I cannot live without cleansing oils so a new addition to the market is very much welcomed.

Hi Muse, I’m almost about to finish mine and I wouldn’t repurchase. It takes about 4 pumps for the whole face and it doesn’t dissolve mascara well. Lancôme oil is much better. The smell and texture are nice. It will also sting if it gets into your eyes. Please try it with a sample with promo code as ladies above suggest. Maybe, it will be a hit for you:) Good luck!

    • the Muse

thanks olga sounds like a bust…sample sounds good rather than indulge and be disappointed ;D thank YOU!

I got the sample from Sephora in the mail yesterday. I had never used or heard of a “cleansing oil” before I saw it in their newsletter, so I have nothing else to compare it to.

The smell nice and light, it felt good when I put it on and it was easy to wipe away with a wet towel. I don’t know if my skin was supposed to feel different or not, but it didn’t – maybe I was supposed to wipe with a dry towel, not a wet one? Really don’t know – no instructions on the bottle (which is how I found this blog – I was doing a search for the product). I still put on my nightly moisturizer after.

Given the price and that my skin didn’t feel any different, I’d probably stick with my normal cleanser or Ponds cold cream

Muse, I bought this out of curiosity and my main complaints are shallow
    I felt ripped off.
For a Dior product, I want a pretty box, instruction paperwork.
It arrived plain. As in, just the bottle.
    No box. No nothing.

    • the Muse

ugh that’s awful jessica I’m glad I popped it in and out of my cart so quickly!
