L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Excess Mascara Review

LOreal Voluminous Million Lashes Excess Mascara Summer 2013

L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Excess Mascara is a new formula that promises intense volume with no clumps. It has a special applicator which wipes clean as you remove it from the barrel which keeps the mascara from clumping.

As I mentioned in a few posts, outside of Black Smoke, I don’t really like the Voluminous Million Lashes formula. It’s the type of product that’s over marketed in packaging and promises and simply doesn’t deliver the dramatic results you’d expect.

Perhaps Lash Excess will change my mind.

L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Excess Mascara is a formula you’ll really love or really not care about it. If you’ve tried, used, and loved L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes formula in the past I can honestly say you’ll likely enjoy the Excess formula. If you haven’t had really great success with the formula you’ll likely not really care for this.

I happen to fall into the not really caring much about this.

It basically includes the same applicator that ALL the other formulas have so there isn’t much difference there (perhaps it’s a little longer and thicker). The formula feels the same as well to me.

It provides some length for me but seems to go a little clumpy as I stroke through but thankfully if I stroke the applicator a few times through my lashes the clumps disappear. This creates a little bit of a spidery effect but nothing too bad and the length is easy enough to see. It’s the volume it lacks in my opinion. For something advertised as a volumizing mascara I didn’t feel my lashes looked any fuller or thicker after use.

I didn’t have issues with this smudging or flaking on my drier eyes and it wore strong all day and was easy to remove with oil based eye makeup remover.

On the upside I think the formula will perform great with other mascaras so you can get both the length and the volume you might be looking for. I applied a few coats of this and followed with MAC Gigalash and I thought the results were MUCH nicer. I got the lenght I wanted along with the fullness of false lashes.

Alone…well, results are below what do you think?

I got the same results with all these million lashes products as well…I feel like we are in the minority for some reason, though. Thanks for the review! I was VERY tempted to try this one! :)

Oh I’m a huge fan of the VML mascara! I know you didnt give it such great rating but from your description, I found out that it’s exactly the type of mascara I was looking for, for my short stubby Asian lashes; I dont want drama, just a bit of definition without clumping. I wonder if I’ll love this too?
