Maybelline Precious Pearl Color Tattoo Eyeshadow Review & Swatches
Maybelline Precious Pearl Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadow is one of several new Color Tattoo Eyeshadows released this Summer that will be available for a limited time at drugstores.
I have to admit compared to the Fall 2013 shades these Summer colors were a vast disappointment. I felt like the formula wasn’t even on par with the original formula.
Precious Pearl is actually one of two new shades of frosty white that Maybelline launched. The other shade, Waves of White, is more of a duochrome shade which reflected blue. With Precious Pearl you’ll get more of a cooler, frostier white.
Take a peek!
Maybelline Precious Pearl Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadow is a ivory in the pot but applies as a frosty, shimmery white on eyes. It looks almost golden beige in the pot doesn’t it? But it definitely leans towards being a cooler shade of white on my lids.
The shade is sheer and has more shimmer than actually color when applied. It’s as slippery as many of the Summer shades were which I found challenging to use as the color never feels like it quite sets which leads to creasing issues for me. It applies uneven, streaky, and patchy and I felt like I need to go over it again and again again as the color just seems to slip away when I try blending it out.
The creaminess is lovely but its the slicker aspect of the shadow that bothers me the most and makes for a very difficult application.
You might to use this as an eyeshadow base of sorts as you can at least cover up patchy areas with a powder. However, it does make my powder eyeshadow crease when worn as a base.
I can’t fathom what happened to these shades….all the Summer colors just seem to have a very odd consistency
