Pur Minerals CC Cream Review & Swatches
Pur Minerals CC Cream is a new color complexion correction CC Cream formula with a broad spectrum SPF 40 that recently launched in four shades. Like many brands Pur Minerals skipped over the BB Cream option and headed straight into a CC Cream formula.
Pur Minerals does hold the market for highest SPF offerings as many of these US CC Creams are a minimal SPF of 20-30 but not much higher. This in itself makes the formula special.
Let’s have a look!
Pur Minerals CC Cream ($38) acts as an all in one skincare and makeup product multitasking as a moisturizer, brightener, primer, concealer, and sunscreen.
This comes in a pump tube which flows evenly and smoothly. I’ve expressed my dislike of this style packaging many times but I always like to add a note about how well the pump works. In this case it dispenses just the right amount of product and I didn’t have to struggle with it to get the CC Cream to flow.
According to Pur Minerals this contains DERMAPUR HP which is a a clarifying corrective and CLARISKIN II which is brightening ingredient created from from wheat germ. The formula is silicone-free formula and promises to erase brown spots, blemishes and fine lines while evening skin tone.
I tried the Medium shade which actually has a gray base with pink gray undertone. I’ve always favored gray based BB Creams since they brighten best and in this case Pur Minerals medium tone works in a similar fashion! Although a shy too dark for my skin tone this does an excellent job adapting and brightening up my duller skin. It provides enough moisture that I feel comfortable enough forgoing moisturizer in the warmer weather and allowing this to act as my moisturizer. The CC Cream glides on, blends out, and applies very easily. It dries down to a soft, even finish without being overly dewy, slick, or greasy. As with many CC Creams here in the US I find coverage is one step above a tinted moisturizer. There’s enough coverage here to ease very minor darkness and redness while perfecting skin but not concealing major problems such as blemishes or acne scarring, etc…It should be suitable for many skin types but I’d avoid it if you’re super oily or just apply a smaller amount as you might find it a little too hydrating for oilier skin.
Wear time will vary but I got about four hours out of it before it faded a bit and looked like it was in need of a touch up. I’d say that’s closer to a tinted moisturizer’s wear time for me and not so much a BB or CC Cream wear. It doesn’t oxidize thankfully and remains fresh through the wear time.
Overall, Pur Minerals CC Cream checks all the boxes for lightweight coverage that protects and perfects skin. It makes a perfect color correcting cream for Summer wearing. I find the newer generation CC Creams released here in the US seem to ironically have a better color pay off than our BB Creams did when they originally released. CC Creams are technically supposed to be sheerer so I find it interesting we are seeing the opposite with many of these launches. Pur Minerals did a fairly good job with their CC Cream formula and I’d say it was one step above a tinted moisturizer with many good perks such as an SPF 40.
If you’re shopping CCs at the moment this is one to look at.
