Sephora Tattoo Me! Review & Swatches

Sephora Tattoo Me!

I like silly stuff so that must be why the Sephora Tattoo Me! ($8) tickles my funny bone. I remember as a child have any number of stamps one of which was the Poochie stamp. I dunno if anyone remembers Poochie but she was a little white dog with pink paws and ears. Her paws happened to have built in stamps that you could stamp onto paper or even your skin as a tattoo of sorts.

Needless to say my little girl self though this was all kinds of amazing.

Shrug!

Maybe that’s why the Sephora Tattoo Me! is so terribly exciting.

Ok, well, maybe not EXCITING but fun!?

This silly little applicator pen has a built in ink stamp that creates temporary tattoos on your skin. It’s available in an anchor, skull, and star stamp and for as little as eight bucks you can own one!

Joy!

You can use it on your face, arms, legs, anywhere really but I highly suggest having some fairly good oil based remover handy to get it off. I used eye makeup remover to remove and even with a few strokes of that and some soap it still left a faded print on my arm so be aware prior to applying anywhere on your face as the tattoo may stick around longer than you’re willing to hang with it.

See?

This is why I can’t get any real tattoos….I get bored too easily. After stamping the star on I proceeded to want to quickly remove it and use the skull!

Oh well!

If temporary insanity is your bag this little Tattoo Me! Applicator might be fun stamping little designs on your skin.

Available now at Sephora and Sephora.com

What do you think?

Cheesy?

Or cute?

I tried these on at Sephora just for fun…they are silly but I wish there was a heart as Marina Diamandis from Marina and the Diamonds has a little heart beauty mark she wears and a character from something I like has a heart beauty mark too lol. So I might have had some cosplay usage for that one at least to justify it XD!

That being said these did remind me of these crayola stamp markers I had as a kid…those were pretty awesome!

I just had to chime in to say, they remind me of those Crayola stamp markers too! I was obsessed with having every single one they had (there were so many sets!). I wasn’t even a kid then…that was the mid-’90s, right? So I was in my 20s, LOL! I found some ‘artwork’ recently that I’d made with them, and now I see these Sephora stamps…it must be a sign that I need one of them, right? (I’d also prefer a heart. Maybe if these sell well, they’ll add one.)

I’m 41 and I remember Poochie! I think the stamps are cool, LOL.

Haha, just watched the video and I still don’t remember – OLD!!! 😉

lol! damn! it was around the same time as poochie! maybe a little after?!

          • Cindy

I did crack up at the Dad peeking in and saying something like “you have beautiful jewelry.” Creep. Hahaha!

          • the Muse

LMAO me too! “what are you doing in there?”

          • Tammie

I think I had some of these in the 90s (I was born in ’86), or at least one haha. I never remembered it but watching the commercial it looks VERY familiar, unless I am remembering a different locket (maybe a polly pocket one) that was similar.

          • the Muse

it could be I remember having them around 89? I think? or perhaps 90?

          • Tammie

The Youtube thing says they were produced from 1985-1996 so it’s very possible but I was also a big Polly Pocket fanatic during that time so I am not really sure haha

  • karla

eh! wouldn’t waste my money on it. ill rather buy stamps and ink with cute desings lol
i am curious about the chalk nails thats at sephora!

    • the Muse

oh lord….lol! it doesn’t look bad but I don’t think I could go through life with that on my face 😀 smart idea to remove!

  • kiwikiwidragon

i totally remember Poochie!! I only had a few pieces. I had/have tons of Hello Kitty, lol. I miss stuff like Poochie, i don’t think Lisa Frank is a good alternative, although it has good staying power.

    • the Muse

god lisa frank I had so many stickers from lisa frank ;D

  • Rebecca Cash

OMG!!! I totally forgot about POOCHIE!!!! Love it, bless your heart!!

  • Ruthlessrocks

I got the star too-a total impulse purchase, I put it on the corner of my eye (Realizing after that’s kind of like a prison tattoo spot? I dunno) and have had zero issues with it. 10 bucks in Canada-it’s a bit of whimsy and I really like them

  • Icequeen81

use both, heheh I have 3 stars pm my ankle love them 🙂 filled with blue and white

  • ruth

I gave my best friend Laura a Poochie stuffie for her birthday and she loved it. those stamps look like so much fun, I may have to go to the store and play with them and see if they need to come home with me 😉

  • Sara

Omg! I had a poochie stamp also! I can’t wait to get the skull one because our mascot is a pirate. 😉 Cheesy but fun and cute for sure. 🙂

  • SmirkingValet

Muse, I loved Poochie! Tell me, do you remember Sweet Secrets?? They were like Transformers for girls, and some had makeup in them??

    • the Muse

of course! 🙂 we talked about it in the comments just a few rows up hehe ;D

  • Michelle

Oh how I loved my Poochie stamp!!! I had my “office” desk set up & Poochie was my signature stamp!!! Haha:) the good old days!

  • cat

I feel like a buzzkill but wouldn’t it be easier to just buy a cheap set of stamps and then color on them with liquid or gel eyeliner and press them into your skin? And then you wouldn’t get that circular outline. Or you could just draw on your face like a crazy person. XD
